What Past Guests Are Saying
Linda and Richard were easy to work with, and the place was excellent.
Deluxe home away from home
This was our first experience at renting a home for our vacation. My wife and I wanted a place close to Volcano National Park and found this wonderful gem on the internet. Google Maps showed a lovely exterior and, when we arrived late at night from Kona, we discovered this immaculate three bedroom house which far exceeded our expectations.
The entire house had lots of windows which provided delightful lighting. The living room was well furnished with two couches, a well stocked selection of books and music CDs and an entertainment center, of which we used only the television during breakfast and dinner. The large master bedroom had a bathroom with two sinks and a spacious walk-in shower and plenty of towels. Our daughter and her husband slept in the second bedroom in a queen sized bed. It was separated from the third bedroom by a bathroom with shower and sink. My two young grandsons loved the twin beds in the third bedroom. They were so excited when they first saw this bedroom. The kitchen had all kinds of cookware, of which we used several items. Remember that we're here on vacation. We prepared breakfast and either ate out or brought dinner back to the house. There were plenty of dishes, bowls, and utensils to use on the dining table. A laundry room was available but we didn't use it.
The house is about 2-1/2 miles from the entrance to Volcano National Park which facilitated our visiting the Park in a few hours at a time. We visited the Visitors Center, steam vents, sulphur banks, Jaggar Museum, Thurston lave tube, and Devastation trail. My wife, with a back problem, was surprised that the walking did not cause her to experience back pains. Seeing the volcano from Jaggar Museum was on my wife's bucket list.

Spacious, lovely, comfortable, convenient, Excellent Choice!
We've rented homes on the Big Island on three seperate occassions and have been blessed with nice people, great homes and nary a complaint at any of them. Rick and Linda were terrific hosts and went out of their way to accomodate us. The home was lovely in every respect with a spacious and well manicured yard, every amenity we could possibly need and the fireplace that not added a nice comfy feeling to our evenings but also kept the temp nice and cozy on those cool nights and mornings. The location proved perfect for us and we look forward to future visits to this area and to this lovely home away from home.

Peaceful retreat near all Volcano activities!
This home exceeded all of our expectations! It is located in close proximity to the Volcano Golf and Country Club, which was a great golf course with amazing views of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. It is also a short drive to Volcano National Park. The home is located in a very serene setting with native vegetation surrounding the property, which offered tons of privacy, and a lovely spot for your morning coffee. The home is decorated in a beautiful Hawaiian theme making you feel right at home. It had everything we could want as far as a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, wi fi and a fireplace for those cold volcano nights. The price was great, and we could not have asked for a better stay as we explored the Volcano area. I can't wait to go back, and stay again!
My family and I stayed at this amazing home in Volcano, Hawaii o
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this three bedroom, 2 bath home fully equipped with everything a family could need. The landscape is beautiful and the native animals are amazing to watch. The natural scenery is breath taking and had the opportunity to see so many native animals just passing through in the early morning and at dusk! If your a runner lots a room and miles to run. If you enjoy hiking there more than enough places to go close by. If you enjoy site seeing your in the right place! Last but not least if your the golfer just up the road is the Volcano golf course with club house. So needless to say we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the comforts of this beautiful home. Thank you and can't wait to stay again!
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park! Beautiful, peaceful, first rate
This new home is the ideal vacation rental when traveling to the Big Island of Hawaii! Just minutes drive from Hawaii Volcano National Park, this is a great location to explore the park. Hiking, golf, live lava flows, art galleries, restaurants are all here, all while you feel like you are truly away from it all in this peaceful setting.
The house itself is tastefully decorated and well furnished with everything you need for a carefree vacation. It is extremely clean and everything is in excellent working order. There is a lanai off the living area overlooking the private backyard for outdoor relaxing.
Rick and Linda West have not overlooked anything when it comes to making sure you have a nice visit. There are guidebooks and maps and other info for local activities. They bend over backwards to take care of you and will assist you with any questions about anything as they are long term kama'aina (local) owners.
In addition to visiting the volcano, this home is a good place to stay when visiting Hilo (about 45 minute drive), and the Puna district (about 45 minute drive) as well as exploring the south side of the island where turtles bask in the sun at Punaluu Beach, a black sand beach.
