Your Volcano Village location puts you 40 minutes from Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, where you may see turtles nesting and swimming, one and a half hours from from the City of Refuge, and only 40 minutes from historic and beautiful downtown Hilo with restaurants, shops, museums and nearby snorkeling beaches.

Amenities in the village include several diverse restaurants, 2 grocery stores, 2 gas stations, launderette, gift shops, art galleries, post office, a nearby local winery, 18-hole golf course and "da" best Sunday morning farmer's market.

  Well, much of what was described to me on the website was untrue. I had no internet at all. No video library. The hot tub was new and very small (I had a party of 5!!!) and the tub was blowing fuses to the TV and electric heater, so was forced to choose. Picked making a fire in the wood stove and using the hot tub, but only 3 at a time comfortably. Had linens for 4 if you were not planning to use the hot tub. We were running the dryer constantly. The staff and owner were not very accommodating until I demanded some of my money back. I spent almost an hour calling and leaving messages in order to reach someone. This place was frustrating. The house was new and nice inside, but seemed as though no one had thought out about having someone stay there. Nice stove, but no broiler... that was kind of the theme. Very nice stuff... but something missing. One room had hooks up for paintings that were not there. Hopefully they will get it together, but the house is too big for 2 or 3, and there is not enough necessities for larger groups.
