Additional Location Information
Rozensuite is a ground-floor bedsit with its own zen garden in front. It is attached to the owner's house. There is ample parking in front of the house. It is one of a group of newly built superior houses in a new area in Volta Mantovana, a beautiful village on the Morenic Hills which surround the foot of Lake Garda. Volta is in the Province of Mantova, although it is only minutes away from the Province of Verona and Lake Garda. The best way to reach Volta is to arrive by plane at either Milano ( Bergamo) or Verona (Villafranca) or Brescia (Montichiari). If you want to tour around it is best to hire a car at the airport.Exit from the Motorway at Peschiera and follow the signs to Volta Mantovana.
Just on the doorstep there's a cycle-path or footpath for the more active visitors. The path leads to the famous Borghetto - a really quaint Medieval hamlet with spectacular views from the Scaligero bridge over the R. Mincio with the stunning houses perched on top. Any artist dies for a place like this to paint.Another walk/cycle takes you to the falls on the R. Mincio at the new bridge of Pozzolo - 1 1/2 hrs there and back on foot.
No visit to Italy is complete without culture - This part of Italy is oozing with it. Every little village around Volta Mantovana has its own castle and church, its own typical restaurants, its own vineyards, its own festivals at various times of the year, its own exhibitions and concerts as well as colourful local fairs and markets. Apart from Borghetto, there is another little Medieval jewel - Castellaro, just 15 min. away - set on a little lake, a corner which takes you back to those old times. Again this is an artist's corner. Other villages along the road from Volta to Lake Garda are Monzambano, Valeggio,Pozzolengo, Ponti sul Mincio.
Peschiera, 15 min away, is the most southerly village on Lake Garda, and from there you can visit Desenzano (shoes and bags galore!), Sirmione (also famous for its Spas), Lazise, Bardolino (both famous for the beautiful promenade around the lake), Garda, Salò, Gardone, etc etc. You have certainly heard of all these well-known tourist resorts around the biggest lake in Europe! Gardaland is 30 min. from Volta - great fun! Don't miss it!
.Bike hire can be arranged.
In Volta itself, there are 16 bars, 10 excellent restaurants or pizza huts, fruit, vegetable and gourmet shops, a few clothes shops, ice-cream parlours, 3 bakers for fresh bread and pasta, the wonderful Historic Centre right at the top of the hill with the church, the Gonzaga's Villa with its beautiful boxed gardens, the Scuderie (Stables).
For those who love walking or cycling there is a path right outside the door which leads to the bridge and waterfall at the famous R.Mincio. While admiring the scenery, one can sit at the bar and have a snack or refreshment. If one wants to venture further, the path leads to Borghetto, Peschiera, Goito and Mantova.
Borghetto and Castellaro are world-famous Medieval Hamlets 10 minutes by car in opposite directions from the house.
Peschiera, at the foot of Lake Garda, is a 15 minute car drive. From there, one can visit the other villages around the lake either by car or by boat - trips to Bardolino, Desenzano, Lazise, Garda, Gardone, Salò - all familiar names in the tour brochures!
Gardaland can be reached by bus from Peschiera, or a 20 min. drive from Volta Mantovana.
Verona can be reached from Peschiera by train or a 30 min. drive by car.
Mantua can be reached by bus from Volta Mantovana, or a 30 min. drive by car.
Brescia can be reached by train from Peschiera or a 30 min. drive by car.
Volta Mantovana is equidistant from Milano and Venice - both easily reached by car on the motorway, entering at the Peschiera Toll, or by train from Peschiera.
Water sports and swimming pools are near at hand in the summer.
There is an indoor swimming pool with renowned thermal baths (sulphuric) 15 min. away at Rivalta. (The Airone)
Peschiera and Valpolicella (30 mins away) offer health farms (with sulphuric baths) on a daily basis.
For Culture Lovers there is a myriad of wonderful places to visit - Mantua, Verona and Brescia, not to mention Venice which is only one hour away, and the best of concerts and operas to go to.

TrevisoLovely
Left on 03/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013
I had a wonderful stay in Rozensuite, and I would strongly recommend to all the tourists, who are travelling alone or in couple around the Garda Lake.
I've chosen Rozensuite since I was on a budged: it was much cheaper than every other accommodation on the Lake Garda Hillside. The position was great: from Rozensuite I easily reached some of the most beautiful art cities and attractions in the area.
The owner, Margaret, provided me with great advices, according to my tastes and needs. I loved my chats with her... she is really a Woman with a mission! It was incredible to discover how exciting her life has been and still is! I particularly loved the Rozensuite's garden - shared with the owner's house - and I appreciated so much the complementary Wifi! Although Rozensuite is a self-catering accommodation, I booked a dinner in Margaret's house. Her cooking was really great! -

Quiet and relaxing

We had a lovely short stay here in Villa Montavana. The apartment is compact sleeping 2 people comfortably and is part of the owners house with bathroom and studio room including kitchenette. The owner offers a warm welcome and has several contact for those interested in cultural tours including the delightful Lorenzo who has a huge knowledge of the local history, art and culture sand took us on a wonderful tour of Montava. Villa Montavana is a quiet village with several good restaurants and bars. It is only 30 minutes or so from Garda and Montava so is a good base for a stay in this region.

It was so nice to welcome you and your mother to Rozensuite in Volta Mantovana and Lorenzo Bonoldi is so knowledgeable and eager to show my visitors around the area - he is by far the best tourist guide around here!! Mantova is 40 minutes away and Lake Garda is only 10 minutes from here.

PoyntonExcellent hospitality and felt at home straight away!

The level of service that we received was faultless. The Rozensuite was very comfortable and we settled in almost immediately. Volta Mantovana is a beautiful part of Lombardy, its character and charm is easy to fall for. Although self catering is available at the Rozensuite, we were in no short supply of brilliant local restaurants that certainly stayed in our minds once we had left.
I would defiantly stay again without question and hope to return soon!

I really enjoyed having you and your aunt and granny in Rozensuite, and I loved organizing and cooking that special Burns Supper for the Scottish Event in the Historic Centre. Hope to repeat it next year!
