In the midst of the Weser mountain country, right on the river Weser, you'll find the Sieck's Barn apartments. Our 7 apartments are comfortably furnished... and accommodate 2-6 people.

The region is great for relaxing and recharging; Sieck’s Barn is an ideal holiday spot for families with children and seniors. Nature and outdoor sports enthusiasts will find their paradise; the diverse activities offered are sure to satisfy everyone.

Between the house and the Weser river, there is a large lawn to sunbathe or play on.

All apartments come with a kitchenette (including microwave) that is practically equipped, a bathroom with shower/toilet and a large balcony towards the South or a garden patio. The living room offers comfortable seating, satellite flat-screen TV and radio.

All apartments offer great views over the garden, the river and the forest.

The apartments are all furnished in different ways:

Apartment Weser: for 2-4 people, on the ground floor. Beautiful corner patio with hidden view of sandbox and garden. Wheelchair accessible via the patio. (Type B****)

Apartment Fulda: for 2-3 people, with historic flair – old sand stone wall kept visible. Very cozy! (Type B****)

History of the old Barn

A long time ago, there used to be a pub here. Later, Heinrich Sieck built the barn which his son, Karl-Heinz Sieck and his family changed to vacation apartments. They deliberately kept a lot of the old building, such as sandstone walls and wooden beams, intact to maintain the building’s special atmosphere.

DTV Classification

The German Tourist Association DTV classified the apartments as 3- and 4-star accommodation, certifying the high standard.

Sieck’s Barn has also been awarded the Quality - Q seal of the organization ServiceQualität Deutschland, through which we take on the responsibility to continuously check and optimize the quality of our services and adjust them to our customer’s desires.

This unit is located conveniently near Dortmund Airport. From Dortmund Airport the distance to the unit at Lange Dorfstrasse 8, 37194 Bodenfelde is about 166 km (103.7 miles), approximately a 1 hour, 55 minutes drive by car. Additional Location Information

Refurbishing the old barn, we deliberately kept a lot of the old building, such as sandstone walls and wooden beams, intact. The result are the 8 apartments with special atmosphere.
How to Get to Wahmbeck:
Wahmbeck lies between Uslar (12 km) and Bad Karlshafen (8 km).
By train:
The closest train station is the one in Bodenfelde, 3 km away. Bodenfelde can be reached via Northeim, Göttingen and Ottbergen.
By car:
From the north, take A7 to exit Northeim West (Nr. 70), B 241 to Uslar, intersection to Bodenfelde.
From the south, take A7 to Lutterberg (Nr. 76), B 496 to Hann. MĂĽnden, then B 80 towards Bad Karlshafen. Off at Gieselwerder and continue over the bridge to Bodenfelde.
From the west, take A 44 to exit Warburg (Nr. 65), B 252 to Brakel. In Hohenwepel, B 241 to Beverungen, off 12 km past the Weser to Bodenfelde.
For the 3 km from Bodenfelde to Wahmbeck, just follow the signs. In Wahmbeck drive towards the ferry (Fähre), turn left into the Lange Dorfstrasse on the main square of the village. Or, for a beautiful alternative, take the ferry from the B80 directly to Wahmbeck (take note of the operating hours, though).

Wahmbeck and Surroundings:
Wahmbeck is a quietly located village without through-traffic.
The village is located on the German Fairytale Road, right on a Weser river curve between the nature parks Reinhardswald and Soling-Vogler-Mittelgebirge, with lots of unspoilt flora and fauna.
A ferry system that is unique in Germany connects Wahmbeck and the other Weser river bank. Like in the old times, it ferries people and carriages across the river using only the power of the stream itself, without any motor.
Wahmbeck has been a recognized holiday and vacation spot for over 100 years, and it has the activities to match: mini golf, open air and indoor pools, Nordic Walking trails.
