Newcastle, CaliforniaA perfect place to see and hear the ocean 24 hours of the day..

We rented this wonderful condo for a week and shared it with three other women. I chose the murphy bed next to the sliding glass doors or screens (3) which open completely. I kept the screens opened and locked all eight nights I slept there. The waves crashed and the sea breeze flowed thru the whole place, it was so wonderful. The view is fabulous and the building sits right on the beach, hard to beat. Whenever we arrived home, the view amazed us every time. With a closet full of beach toys and tools, anything else you needed was by the beach, BBQ, pool, spa, even huge turtles who swam and ate right in front of you ! We'll be back...

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and we rented Jerry's condo. The condo was perfect for my family. It is located right on the beach. It was just wonderful to open the sliding door in the lanai and sleep to the sound of the waves and the cool breeze every night. In the evenings, we were always anxious to get back and relax at the condo. It was very clean and well stocked with everything from beach toys to laundry detergent. One evening, while at the beach, I fell and scraped my knee. Upon returning to the condo, I was relieved to find that an emergency kit was available.
Location was great! The area has many fun places to explore. Everyday we were out exploring the area and found wonderful beaches and so many other attractions. One day after exploring Wikiki we were so glad to be able to come back to our quiet retreat. When we return to Hawaii, we would like rent this condo again. Thanks Jerry! -

Sunset Shores is in a perfect little Waialua neighborhood. Very quaint and friendly with a great beach for snorkeling and turtle watching! The condo had all the amenities one would need and was clean and well kept. Kitchen & pantry was pretty well stocked with spices and other necessities. Plenty of towels and well appointed washer and dryer in the bathroom. Has a great view and plenty of room to be comfortable. Bathrooms were nice and decor was very cute and cozy. Jerry was great and rental process was super easy.
Pool area and bbq area were well kept and not crowded. other tenants were friendly and welcoming. the only complaint i had is that the hot tub was way too hot the 1st few days and then cold the last few days, not sure why. and the Murphy bed was not comfortable but had a great view to wake up to. nothing that would ever keep me from staying again.
Had an amazing vacation! Can't wait to go back!

This was the first time we have rented a home rather than existing a hotel. What a marvelous difference! It is substantially more cost efficient but even more importantly, is the way that it feels. You feel more a part of the island, and not on the outside as a visitor. The home is beautifully decorated and clean. The beach is your backyard and the windows and sliding door give you full access to the sight, sounds and smells of the crashing waves. Turtles visited the beach every morning.
The condo is furnished with everything necessary to carry on normal living. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment (down to the last detail) and we had family style meals. We were delighted to discover boogy boards, beach towles, beach chairs, snorkeling equipment and children sand toys in the front closet. A short hunt turned up games, office supplies, laundry detergent, etc. The neighbors were friendly and Deborah, the caretaker was incredibly helpful and available. We had absolutely everything we needed. Everything.
The location suited us perfectly. Haleiwa, the little town next door was delightful and home to some "must eat" and good shopping experiences. A short drive through town and then along the coast to all of the wonderful North Shore beaches on our way to Laie for our daughter's college graduation. Going back and forth to Laie brought familiarity and a sense of belonging to the North Shore beaches. We beach hopped all the way out there and back repeatedly. They are "our" beaches now.
The condo sleeps six. One traditional bedroom/bath and then a pull out sofa and a Murphy bed. We had six adults and an infant. With the sofa bed and the murphy bed pulled out there is absolutely no "living space" left (we put the baby bed in the adjoining closet). Everything must be replaced before it is a functional living area again. So it felt crowded at night. That being said, getting us all in, made it affordable and I would definitly do it again. -

My family and I returned to this condo for our second one-month stay and enjoyed this trip every bit as much as the one last year. We love the North Shore area and have found this condo to be so comfortable and convenient. We spent most of our time at the beach right out front and at other beaches close by. We also tried out sailing, kayaking, polo, and snorkeling. It was always nice to come back to this condo to prepare meals and relax. It was equipped with everything needed and we loved the ocean and sunset views and the great ocean breeze.

This two bedroom two bath condo was a great place for a bunch of long-time girlfriends to celebrate their collective 60th birthdays! The views and sunsets are stunning from nearly every part of condo. The furnishings and appointments are resort quality. The well-stocked kitchen was so easy to use that we didn't eat out for dinner the entire week! The Haleiwa/Waialua area is thriving so there are now a lot of restaurants and services in addition to all the natural places to visit and enjoy. One reason we ate in (and ate well) was the frequency and quality of the area's farmers' markets. Eating local products and local produce was wonderful. Also, there are two easy-to-use gas grills near the beach and easily accessible. Although the beach is not easy to swim in because of the coral near the shore, the condo has a pool and a jacuzzi. If you visit, please remember that the majority of folks in this complex are residents. We were kind of noisy the first day (which would have been acceptable in a hotel) until we remembered that this was a residential and not a resort area. All the comforts of a resort and turtles swimming near the beach! Wonderful!

Thanks Frances for your wonderful review.
Although there is a coral reef in front of the condo, one can take a short walk to the left of the condo, where there is a sandy beach and a park.it's a short stroll on the street side to the park.with a play area for the children and a nice sandy beach.
a benifit of the reef is that it attracts the hawaiian green turtles to feed off the reef.there have been as many as a dozen turtles feeding off the reef.occasionally they come on to the beach to rest. -

The view from the balcony is amazing. The beach is private and quite. The unit is filled with hawaiiana and the aloha spirit. It is well equipped and comfortable. It could use a bit of updating and new linens, but definitely a good value for our money. The location is perfect for exploring the North Shore and coming back to a refreshing swim in the salt water pool and hot tub. It is also in need of a some updating, but still very nice. We will be back some day for sure!

Left on 03/07/2011 for a stay in February 2011
My husband and I stayed at Jerry's condo for 10 days in February. Our stay was absolutely amazing!! We lived in Waikiki a few years ago and we always enjoyed going up to the North Shore. So this trip was all about enjoying the low key atmosphere in the North Shore and seeing some friends. The condo was very welcoming with the "Aloha" spirit, with plenty of room. With the condo being on the 4th floor we had amazing views. Almost every morning we would see whales from the lanai, which was awesome! I was able to capture some great pictures. We also saw turtles daily. The condo has all the essentials that you would need from beach towels, chairs, snorkel gear and more. The beach is beautiful. The beach is very private with wonderful sand. We were able to borrow our friends bikes and bike into Haliewa and shop around, have lunch. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at the condo. I know my husband and I will definitely return to Jerry's condo. They have an amazing place.

Left on 03/04/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Spent two weeks at Jerry's condo in Waialua and really enjoyed the stay. The condo is right on the beach and the sound of the ocean surf is like its coming from the bedroom. Very good location. Very laid back community.
Jerry had everything for us. All we needed was a trip to the local store which is 3 miles away. My wife walked to Haliewa every morning in the warmth of the Hawaiian sunshine. Very nice paved bike trail all the way.
We snorkeled outside the condo and saw turtles along the shoreline almost every day. It was very comforting and very few others were ever on the beach at the same time as us. We had a car and went everywhere from the condo. Many great beaches along the North Shore as well. Jerry had a great supply of brochures of things to do and a variety of maps so that we could plan our day. It took only 40 minutes from the airport to get to the condo.
Jerry's unit is on the 4th floor and is an end unit which makes it very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back on a moments notice. Thanks Jerry, for giving us a great place to stay and for making our vacation one to remember.

Mountain View, CaliforniaThe Best Home away from Home in North Shore Oahu.
Left on 11/22/2010 for a stay in October 2010
A truly fulfilling North Shore Oahu experience! Condo has spectacular ocean view and is charmingly decorated throughout to put you in the "vacation" state of mind. It's a very welcoming experience, complete with a tote bag of goodies when you arrive. It's outfitted with masks, snorkels, boogie boards, and beach towels so you don't have to buy or rent them! The location is great, being very close to the historic town of Hale'iwa which has lots of great shops, as well as being close to Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay / Waimea Falls Park. We loved it so much the first time, we came back again the next year. Highly recommended!

Going back to the North Shore was something that I have been planning for years and staying at Cindy and Jerry's little piece of Paradise was just awesome. Everything was clean and inviting. The aloha spirit filled the condo. All the little "extras". kitchen supplies, extra beach towels and beach accesories were only part of what made this condo a special place to stay. There was plenty of room for 4 woman spend a week. I would recomend this to anyone who wants to be away from the hustle of Honolulu and enjoy the beauty of the North Shore andall that it has to offer. Cindy andJerry go out of their way to make sure you have all the comorts of home .

Carson City, NVWhen can we come back?
Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed at this Condo for 5 nights in October 2010 and had a wonderful time. Jerry was great to work with before we got there and once we arrived Deb was very friendly and helpful. We were a last minute booking and so we paid a discounted rate but it would have been worth every penny paying full price.
The Condo was very clean and very well stocked with basic necessities plus odds and ends previous travelers had left behind (food stuff, sunscreen etc). It included functional beach gear which we were able to use throughout the trip and the bonus was... it was in good woking order which has not been the case with other places we have stayed. The refrigerator and pantry were stocked w/spices and condiments as well as other food stuffs which we thought was a great idea.
The condo itself was on the 4th floor and looks right over the water/beach. The beach is literally less then 100 steps from the stairs/elevator and just like the pictures show, we saw turtles on the beach and in the water.
We used the BBQ several nights and found chatting with the "neighbors" to be very pleasant (they all spoke very well of Jerry)
My wife and I used the master bedroom and our friend used the pulldown in the living room which can be separated into another room for privacy if needed. The ocean breeze and the movement of the tide along with the generous amount of fans made for a perfect sleeping environment.
The Sea and Surf shop in town was very friendly and helpful and Kona's restaurant had a great breakfast.
After Oahu we travelled to Maui where the condo we stayed at was huge disappointment on so many levels after staying at Jerry's.
Overall we had a great trip, loved the Condo and would definitely return there again. -

My wife and I recently stayed at the Jerry's condo in Waialua. We spent months trying to decide which rental to go with. All the hard work paid off. If you ran across this condo look no further. You will not find a better place to stay on the North Shore for such a steal of a price. When my wife and I arrived there was a card for us from Jerry wising us a wonderful honeymoon and a gift package that included wine and coffee among many other things. This place was amazing! The view of the ocean was perfect. Your very own private beach is seriously steps away and every amazing beach on the North Sore is minuets away. My wife and I went to the Foodland grocery store the first night and stocked up on food for the week. I spent a couple nights grilling on the beach! We went snorkeling at shark's cove, swam with sea turtles, went boogie bording at Mokuleia beach(which is where Lost was filmed) and just relaxed and fully took in the peace and beauty of Hawaii. The condo has two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, Flat screen tvs with cable, wifi, and snorkeling and boogie boards! Oh, and a bed that you can pull down that puts you right next to the view of the ocean at night so you can fall asleep to the sounds of crashing waves. There is so much I want to say about this place, but not enough space. The best way to put it is, We want to go back and stay at Jerry's condo as soon as possible! If you stumbled upon this place consider yourself lucky! Oh, and if you want a fun luau experience go to Germaines Luau. Well, have fun and enjoy your view!

Left on 10/18/2010 for a stay in September 2010
My husband & I had a wonderful time. The view is spectacular and I didn't even mind cooking in the kitchen with the beautiful view to look at. I really enjoyed having my own private beach, you might say. The view from the condo is great because you are on the 4th floor and you really get a great look at the turtles down below. The condo was clean and very comfortable to stay there. We stayed for 1 week. There are things to do on the North Shore and stores are close. We had a car to travel around but was always glad to come back to the condo and just take in the view. I would recommend the condo to everybody who wants to come to Hawaii.
