Mary
Addison, MEA beautiful, unspoiled place in traditional Hawaii
Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We spent five night in aloha Cottage, one of the loveliest vacation cottages we've ever seen--beautifully designed, furnished, and sited on a charming beach looking out over the water to Maui. Unlike some vacation rentals, this one was true to its pictures--even prettier, in fact, than the photographs show. As a long-time Maine resident, I never thought I'd like the idea of an outdoor shower, but--as another reviewer has said--taking an evening shower in the gentle Molokai air, looking over the water to the lights of Maui was simply a gorgeous experience. The kitchen was very well stocked, the washer-dryer first rate, everything was very clean and orderly. We also loved the island--it rather reminded us of traditional Downeast Maine (quiet, rural, no traffic, uncrowded, family-oriented) except, of course, in Molokai we had palm trees, tropical rain forests, gigantic sea cliffs, and macadamia nut-coconut ice cream! We wish we'd stayed much longer--it's a place of staggering beauty, but without the touristy hassle of the other islands.
