Blind Bay, CanadaPhotos look good but...
Left on 09/30/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Be aware that this unit (and the pool/BBQ area) faces an extremely busy street, as well as a semi-commercial area used for pre-dawn garbage transfers, so there is a very high noise level at all times. One would be better to rent a unit facing the canal side.
Another surprise was the bathroom which looks good in the photos, but the enclosed portion containing the toilet and bathtub has not been renovated and is minuscule in size. When we arrived we couldn't use the shower for several days until it was fixed.
The granite counters are beautiful and the appliances look great but the fridge quit working and the oven did not heat up to temperature. The dishes/pots/cutlery were coated with old food and had to be scrubbed before using.
As well, the a/C filters had not been cleaned or replaced for who knows how long, so that the fan continually blew dust into the unit.
The managers were helpful in arranging shower and fridge repairs, and offered to clean the condo without charge. However we would not rent this condo again.Response from Captain Cook Resorts - 05/31/2012

Just discovered this review on Flipkey. Our units are thoroughly cleaned between guest stays. Refrigerator and oven are now both working fine. The A/C filter is changed by the building staff quarterly; it is clean now. Waikiki is an urban location with all the urban noises. We recommend keeping the windows closed and central A/C on to reduce noise. The bath and toilet are in excellent shape. We encourage our guests to contact us immediately with any discrepancies they might have. - Paul

The location of the condo, while perfect for short stays, is not one we would recommend for an extended stay unless one likes the noise from the street below. Buses, trucks, ambulances, fire trucks and police with sirens blaring at all hours of the day and night. There was really no way to enjoy sitting on the lanai just to enjoy the warmth of Waikiki. The location is within easy walking distance to shopping and the beach. The TV could use a few more stations. The kitchen could use a few more "staples" upon move in. The folks who manage the property were more than helpful and should be complimented on the spirit of Aloha that they embody. We felt totally safe inside the secure property, but very safe in Waikiki. People are so friendly and helpful. Great place to vacation.

We are happy our guest enjoyed their visit. This condo in particular is one of the best being newly remodeled with a gourmet kitchen and many upgrades. We will check to see if some stations on TV are not working. There are 80 available. We did not get a call from our guest letting us know this was a problem. The building is located in the middle of Waikiki which does make it very popular with our guests, but we agree there can be traffic noise at this level if you sit out on the lanai. Unfortunately we cannot leave any "staples" in the condo. We do give all guests a starter packet of supplies, but not including food stuffs.
