Great location by the lagoon, Waikiki beach and the ala Moana shops.
We were in Hawaii for a convention at the Sheraton, the Ilikai is about a 15-20 minute walk to this venue. We hired a car which was great to see the island, but parking we felt was a bit much, there was no free parking (not even overnight) for us at the Ilikai or nearby car parks.
Condo had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Would have liked a clothes line to hang my washed clothes on, rather than pay to use the dryer. Great to see filming of Hawaii 5-0 downstairs by the Lobby.

Parking is available for $ 12/day in the parking lot next to the building or $ 20/day for valet service. The great news is that the location is so central that you do not need a car here!

Very positive experience, exceeding my expectation. Nice furniture and clean condo. The view on the ocean leaves you breathless. Excellent location on the beach. Walking distance to shopping center, many stores and restaurants. Very convenient parking at the back of the Hotel for $12 per 24 hrs. Would definitly go back on my next visit to Honolulu!

Had a great time in Hawaii. Actually had some problems with getting to Hawaii but Dainora helped me get there. She did everything and more to help me and my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at her condo. I think that her professionalism and eagerness to answer questions and help with anything she could, was what really made our stay not only memorable but also comfortable. Her email response time was max 1 day. I even had my regular mail sent to her office and she quickly dropped it off at the condo.
The condo itself is excellent. The price cant be beat and the facilities, location and general quality of the condo is excellent. I think the title of amazing Ocean Front condo doesn't do this condo justice. Incredible is a more appropriate adjective. The kitchen has everything. Giant fridger, beautiful kitchenware for parties and dinners. 50 inch t.v. and Dvd's to watch were perfect at night. Great double bed, super comfortable couch.
I stayed with my my family for two weeks. The kids loved the place. Everyday we had breakfast on the large balcony, admiring the view and taking in the morning atmosphere. Then to the pool downstairs or to the lagoon or the beach. We could go back and forth to the beach easily, which is important when you have young kids.
I couldn't recommend a condo more highly than this condo. It really is a gem !!! Thank you so much Dainora ohh and thank you for the chocolates too.

Ilikai apartment is in a great location, is clean and bright with amentities to make your stay extremely comfortable. The bus is located right outside the door no matter where you want to go. The ala Moana Shopping Centre is walking distance as are many wonderful restaurants in Waikiki. We walked alot and found many interesting shops and eateries that way. Can't wait to phone Dainora for our next visit to Waikiki.

The Checkin is easy with agent. The ocean beach view is great, room temperature stay cool with opened window. The place is clean and I will definitely stay there next time I am in the island.

My girlfriend and I visited Hawaii for the first time this year. We looked very hard to find the perfect place to stay. Criteria was it must be within walking distance to the beach, must have a full kitchen, must have a place to park a car, and must have a view of the ocean. I can say Dainora's condo in the Lanikai (sp?) Hotel met all of our expectations.
The view from the balcony was very nice. No suprises from the picture on the site. The kitchen was equipped with dishes, pots/pans, coffee pot, etc. Perfect for making a quick breakfast before getting out. One could make dinner as well, but with the shops and restaraunts of Waikiki within walking distance that was hard to do. I mean, we are on vacation right? It was just a short walk to the beach, and there was valet service for the rental car. This is a little expensive at $22 per day, but I looked around and could not find anything cheaper within the vacinity. Plus, it was nice to not have to worry about lugging coolers and such to and from a parking garage.
I would highly recomend getting a rental car. Oahu has too many things to do and see besides Waikiki. We did breakfast in the condo, we ate Subway and such for lunch, and then we did nice dinners at the restaraunts around Waikiki.
My overall opinion was very good. The condo was clean and met all of our expectations. We were not looking for a 5 star resort, and this is not it. But, if what you are looking for is an afordable, clean, and comfortable condo in a prime location; look no further!Response from Dainora - 07/02/2011

This was our first time to rent a condo directly from the owner and we were a bit nervous. Suffice it to say, our fears were unfounded -the condo was delightful and the view incredible!!! We will definitely be returning.
The check in process was simple and well organized. The condo was spacious and well appointed. The kitchen wasn't newly upgraded with granite countertops/stainless steel appliances etc as are other units in the building (which cost considerably more), but was clean, functional, had good working appliances and was outfitted with everything that one might need.
The condo was very roomy and absolutely quiet inside. The view was simply amazing - we could see the beach, the Hilton Lagoon, the Friday night fireworks at the Hilton, and we even got to see the Hilton Luau each evening as well.
Although not in the heart of Waikiki, it is within walking distance of anywhere you might want to go. Or you can take The Bus which stops right out front of the Ilikai. If you rent a car, there is self parking next door at the Ilikai Marina hotel parkade (a 2-3 min walk away) for about half the price of typical Waikiki parking.
The Ilikai, despite being an older property, is scrupulously maintained, spotlessly clean, and fresh smelling (a musty smell often seems to be prevalent in Hawaii and this wasn't evident anywhere).
Dainora, the owner, was very responsive to any/all of our needs and if something needed to be addressed (eg the tv remote stopped working) it was taken care of immediately.
[As an aside, we didn't actually stay in this unit. Ours was pretty much identical, but was located in the Diamond Head wing (still with the same fabulous view). This condo was not available when I enquired, however the one we rented was available. So even if your preferred dates are not available on the calendar, be sure to check with Dainora as one of her other condos may be available.] -

For our first time in Hawaii we wanted to be close to everything not having a rental car and wanting to go exploring this condo was fabulous, its so central and close to everything.
had a great big tv which was good to come home to and just chill with a movie and the bed was very big and comfortable.
it was a bonus having the fully stocked kitchen too so if we didn't want take out we could enjoy a nice home cooked meal.
would definitely recommend, beautiful ocean views and best seats in the house for the weekly fireworks next door.

This was an excellent accommodation choice and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else.
The location was perfect. There was a marina on one side (for those who like charter fishing), and the beach on the other. Two choices, chillin' by the lagoon, or going to the white sand beach. A five minute leisurely stroll will get you to both. The views were amazing. You could gaze to the end of the horizon every day. Two restaurants on site, and one has a Friday luau. Though not a guest at the hotel, the desk staff were still friendly.
There are great convenience stores, restaurants, and souvenir shops all within a quarter mile walk. The big shopping centers, all under a mile. The buses are expensive in Waikiki, so with this central location, you could pretty much walk anywhere. If you want to book some sort of tour, or luau, all of the agencies pick up right in front of the hotel.
Inside the Condo - The kitchen came in handy when we wanted to stay in and cook. The furniture was relaxing whether you wanted to crash on the couch and watch tv (which was huge BTW), or sit on the balcony and watch the waves.
The owner was helpful in both renting the property, and any questions we had along the way.
The only thing I didn't like was checking out. Not that it was difficult, but because it was such a great stay, I didn't want it to end. Definitely be back within the next year or two. -

We got the unit on a last minute arrangement. Location is about as perfect as you can get for "first timers" like us. I would highly recommend this location for anybody who has never been to Hawaii and wanted to have a central location to start their tour. It is particularly great for families with young children.

I recently stayed two weeks at the Ilikai condo and totally enjoyed my stay. I was on an extended business trip and stayed at several locations and this was by far my favorite. The price is better than most hotels and you have a full kitchen, bath and lanai. You can park at the marina just across the street for $8.00/24hr. Most hotels will charge $25.
The view overlooking the lagoon and pacific ocean is amazing. You will have a front row seat for Friday nite fireworks. You can walk out the back and walk right on to the beach.
The condo is suited for two people comfortably. You have all the amenities you will need. The furnishings are of good quality and the condo is well kept.
Dainora is wonderful to work with and will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable.
If this jewel is available the next time I visit the island, I will stay here.
