It was a pleasure to rent the condo from Dainora. She was very clear in her instructions and kept us up to date on everything even until a few days before our arrival.
Condo itself is in great condition, and has all the amenities you'll need for your stay in Oahu. Towels, sunscreen, beach mats, all provided! Only a short 12-15min walk to the nearby restaurants and large shopping malls too! Condo was having a full paint-job done the day we left so it's probably looking even better now!
You'll have to pay $16/day for parking at the nearby Royal Hawaiian hotel but that's very worth-it considering it's right in the middle of such a busy street and the great value-for-dollar that this unit offers compared to many others in the area. -

Location, Location, Location!
Dainora's apartmant at 1909 ala Wai Blvd. is perfect for adventurers who want to experience both Waikiki and Honolulu. Just 10 minute's walk takes you to your surfing lesson on the beach, shopping at the Royal Hawai'ian Center and the Hard Rock Cafe. Or, continue 10 more minutes on a clean, friendly, air-conditioned bus to Diamond Head and 45 minutes to legendary snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Five minute's walk in the other direction takes you to the bus connections for Chinatown, the Bishop Museum, the arizona Memorial and the Punchbowl Cemetery. Just down Hobron is a Food Pantry grocery store with ample supplies for cooking at home or snacking on your way to the next adventure. 15 minutes walk up Kalakaua takes you to the Fabric Mart for traditional and modern prints by the yard ($3.99 per yard for 100% cotton - outstanding!) A round trip ride from and to the airport via Waikiki Shuttle costs only 14 dollars per person.
The apartment is tastefully and adequately furnished and very well equipped - rice cooker, electric wok, extravagant-sized refrigerator and freezer, spice collection, touring books, extra towels and linens... Dainora was thinking about the details of a comfortable stay.
Dainora was consistently available and very thorough in her instructions and her preparations for the stay. Following our stay she immediately contacted us to return the deposit and consult about our stay.
Staying at 1909 ala Wai puts you in the center of activity. So, there will be noise - sirens from the emergency vehicles from the nearby hospital and fire station, gleeful Greek-style machismo motorcyclists on the street, and the dawn chorus of birds in the trees along the canal. Just remember - no one comes to Waikiki to get away from it all. In Dainora's apartment you will find a little haven in the midst of it all.

Dainora has a very cool condo. Just outside of the hustle and bustle of beach Waikiki, but a $5.00 cab ride over to Duke's, and still in Waikiki. We were there for a BMX race and loved the access in and out of Waik's. Being from Hawaii myself, I know good locations, and Dainora has a great one with this condo.
