I last stayed in the Palm in November 2012. I've also stayed in the Bahama. The location can't be beat and the parking is essential for me. Booking is very efficient and Tom has always been very good about working out dates and cost if my needs don't exactly match availability. Both the Palm and Bahama are spacious and the furniture and kitchens in he units are very nice. Parking in the building is really convenient and easy to access. There are a washer and dryer on each floor and the laundry area is clean. The central location in Waikiki is really great and close to everything. I travel alone, so I appreciate that most days there is a desk person in the lobby and that the lobby is locked in the evenings. I look forward to my next stay at Waikiki Place. Aloha!

Our stay was in the Bahama unit for a few weeks in March 2013 and from easy navigation of the website, online booking, payment, check in and stay everything was superb. The unit was exactly as pictured/described with all we needed to cook and relax in the unit as well as beach items to take along and the included parking was a added value in Waikiki! The price was on point and the unit was thoughfully decorated. We would most certainly stay again!

Ended up on a last minute long weekend in Hawaii. Came across the Waikiki Place ad and was lucky I did. It is a great studio apartment (I stayed in Palm) that had all the amenities I was looking for. Clean, comfortable, with great views. Bathroom and kitchen area were a perfect size - not small and very well renovated. Tom and Kelly were very attentive and a great pair of hosts. Thanks again for providing a great spot to enjoy one of the best weekends I've had in years.

Tom & Kelly were very accommodating for us. We arrived in Oahu on Thanksgiving Day and spent the night at the mall on black Friday with no place to stay. Our time started the day after and when I talked to Tom in the morning Kelly was able to get us checked in before noon. The condo was very clean and had all that we need. The location was perfect in Waikiki close to everything, we will defiantly be back to stay at one of their condos.

We spent five days in Honolulu at Waikiki Place. Booking and check-in were very smooth, the studio was newly remodeled, spacious and full equipped with a full kitchen. We loved the free Wi-Fi and dedicated parking stall. The location was great, central and safe, yet far enough removed from the craziness. Lovely balcony with great views that we used for our morning coffee as well as evening wine. An absolute bargain, we will definitely stay here next time we visit Honolulu. I wild gladly recommend it to my friends.

Aloha Tom & Kelly! We're almost hesitant to give an excellent review of our stay for fear that everyone will hear of our "secret" place to stay! Your accommodations were beyond perfect in Paradise! So what was so perfect? Location, free parking spot, Wi-Fi internet access, secure & safe, clean, comfortable, full kitchen, laundry facilities on the same floor, quiet and we can go on and on! This was our 3rd visit to Oahu and your rental is tops on our list (and hopefully you won't be booked solid) when we return again. Mahalo!

We stayed at the Palm studio, which has many pro's. The condo is large enough for 2 adults and 2 kids (probably perfect for a party of two), it is well equipped and parking in the basement on the private spot helps to save time and money. Waikiki is a central and busy place (don't expect tranquility - the only con of the location as such when you want to find sleep at the end of the day) and the Marine Surf is pretty much in the middle. The beach is a 5 minute walk away; and the kids liked the pool on the 4th floor after eturn from the afternoon activity (if this was not beach again). You can see the fireworks in the Hilton from the lanai. Tom cares about his guests: he gave us a call the day after arrival to ask whether everything was ok and was later very quick to fix a tiny breakdown. If you are looking for a place that provides excellent value for money, you have found it (I believe I have done the work). While on Hawaii, do not miss to get to Pearl Harbor and the North Shore (less than an hour's drive away). We saw at least 10 Hawaiian Sea Turtles in one morning there and snorkeling was very good a few more miles up the road (leave early as the sea is generally calmer in the morning and parking will be limited by late morning). If you like your long hair in the face, also get to the windward side. And to make the most out of your trip to Hawaii, acquaint with at least 2 Hawaiian phrases before, leave your phone turned off after reporting safe arrival to the poor guys you left behind on the mainland and follow the temptation to deviate from your well thought-out plan for the stay.

Now that we've found "Waikiki Place" I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Waikiki. We just completed 10 delicious, delightful days in The Peacock. This studio condo unit in Waikiki Marine Surf is the home-away-from-home that we've always hoped to find. The kitchen is fully functional.With the grocery store just down the street and Farmers' Markets scattered around the island, foodies will have a blast being able to use all the island ingredients for money-saving and exotic home cooked romantic dinners on the lanai. The cleanliness and security of the complex, and the garage as well as the unit are exceptional. For what I'd expect to pay for a hotel room, we got it all- [ kitchen, lovely bathroom with massaging shower head, couch, lanai, internet access, pool, washer/dryer on each floor,parking, sound system and TV( which we never got around to using), and the most comfortable king-size bed I've ever slept in!
In noisy Waikiki, this unit is quiet beyond expectations. There is even a thoughtfully provided sound machine with multiple settings to cover what little noise there is from the night-life on Kuhio avenue.
This unit has a fold-out couch and is listed as accomodating 4. It would be tight quarters for 4 adults but still more spacious than a hotel with two beds.
If money is no object and you're expecting room service or restaurant dining for every meal, an ocean front room, and valet parking you might want to book elsewhere - otherwise this unit is definately "the place". Hope you love it as much as we did.
If you're arriving by shuttle or limo this is a fine-tuned operation. If you're bringing a car,I'd advise you to get micro-choreography before you leave home regarding check-in, garage access and where to pick up the fob that is essential for getting your vehicle into a parking space and accessing the elevators.Response from Tom Merrick - 07/11/2012

This was our first visit to Hawaii and we were planning everything ourselves. Mr. Merrick was absolutely wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions promptly. We stayed in one of his units for 3 nights before and 9 nights after our cruise. He even arranged for our transportation from the airport to our condo and to and from the port for our cruise. The condo had everything we needed and was in an excellent location. "The Bus" stop was right around the corner and beach and many restaurants were an easy walk. We did not rent a car and did not feel the need to do so. Should we be fortunate enough to return to Hawaii, we would definitely stay here again !

We had the most wonderful stay at Waikiki Place "Marine Surf". Way more comfort and ammenities than what we had expected to find. Not only a full kitchen but also all the toys for the beach as well! Tom made making the reservations so easy & made me feel confident that we would enjoy the condo and its location! Location was perfect! Parking included with condo was more than we could ask for! Arrival at the condo was a great welcome from Tom's assistant who greeted us and showed us to the condo -made sure we were happy and then said alhoa & Mahalo! Would definately refer friends Families and anyone searching for a wonderful place to stay!

We just visited Oahu for 16 days to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. As we planned and executed the vacation of a lifetime, staying at Waikiki Place with Marine Surf Vacation Rentals was one of the best decisions we made.
Tom Merrick's an easy guy to do business with and everything was exactly as he said it would be.
As others have mentioned, the location is superb. Right in the heart of Waikiki - just steps from shopping, eating and of course the lovely beaches. I do have to warn folks, it's a loud city neighborhood with an active night life. We liked that about the place, but I could see it being loud for some people.
The unit has everything you need. I tend to think, it's the little things and this place had them in spade. There is even a pair of scissors ! The beach chairs and umbrella are a nice touch. A full complement of kitchen tools makes it easy to cook.
The wireless Internet worked great and free basic cable is bonus for sure. There's a DVD player, CD player and pretty nice sounding stereo.
Parking is expensive in Waikiki. I've read some of the expensive hotels charging an extra $20 to $30 a day to park. Not at Marine Surf, Tom includes this in the low rent he charges for the room.
The unit is also very attractive and felt like a nice homey place to relax after a day of beach, sun, shopping and of course eating.
So having a nice, friendly, easy place to stay made the vacation easy so we could spend our time and energy enjoying the beauty and bliss that is Hawaii.

Fabulous!! Tom and Kelly, you were great, accomodative and welcoming in arranging for our stays in the Peacock and Bahama studios. It's all about location,location,location. A 5 minute walk to the beaches, in the heart of Waikiki for shopping, restaurants, food stores and excellent local bus transportation; couldn't ask for any better! The studio's amenities were all as indicated on the website and particularly clean, safe, well equipped with all appliances, free internet, free phone to States and Canada and free parking. It was really home away from home at a reasonable price! Mahalo Tom and rest assured that, based on our pleasant and positive experience, we will highly recommend your studios to family and friends.

We love the location. A couple min. walk to so many things. A small view of the ocean from Lanai. The bed was comfortable. Room clean. I liked having a remote for the air-conditioner. The furniture looked new. Loved the security the building provided. Laundry and pool wonderful. Friendly people in the building. There was a free parking spot for our Jeep. Tom and his staff (thank you Kerry and Kelly) were very easy to contact. They all went out of their way to make our stay one of the most perfect vacations we've had on that Island. We talk about renting thru Tom again next year. We enjoyed cooking in the well equiped Kitchen with a full size fridge in stead of a "mini" fridge and plenty of dressers and closet space. which reminds me, the closet had beach chairs and towels and coolers. So Fun!

Stumbled across Tom's Waikiki Place surfing the Internet. Thought it was too good to be true but for once the previous reviews were spot on! The location was perfect as we could easily walk to the beach and enjoy the sand and sun. At night it was an easy walk to Waikiki's great restaurants - Roy's and Il Lupino come to mind. There was a parking spot included with our stay. The rates were super reasonable considering the condo was clean and stocked with just about everything you could need, the fridge and stove were smallish but we didn't come to Hawaii to do any grand cooking. Will definately stay here again!

This place had everything we needed for our first few days on the island. The location was amazing, just a few minutes from the beach and a few seconds from the nightlife of Waikiki. The unit was clean and spacious for a studio apartment.
Booking this location was easy and I was provided with great detailed instructions on how to get to the location and how to check in. The payment structure and professionalism made me feel secure in my purchase. Check-in was easy and quick. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Oahu. -

We stayed in this condo for 3 nights and we enjoyed the stay. The location is very good for people who don't have a car. If you do rent a car, rent a compact car since the parking space is small. The bed is comfortable and the amenity is great. The condo does have wired high speed internet service but not wi-fi.

Staying in Waikiki does not need to be expensive and Tom's Waikiki Place is the answer to an affordable stay without sacrificing superior accommodations and convenience. I absolutely had a wonderful experience and was surprised by the furnishings; they were literally just like any 4 star hotel! I had a wonderful view of the mountain tops and city, beach towels were available and everything was clean clean clean! Tom was extremely easy to get ahold of for bookings and other accommodation-related needs. Tom's Waikiki's place is conveniently located within 1 minute walk to the infamous Kalakaua Drive where it is lined with all the stores, restaurants, and the beach!! So if Starbucks across the street is not enough for you, other nice cafes nearby with their excellent coffee and pastries will surely not disappoint! There are also fantastic selection of restaurants within walking distance as well, and going to landmark places via tourist/public transportation was very convenient. My only regret was not staying there longer (and take advantage for a better deal)! Regardless, thank you Tom for the amazing accomodations!

I had no idea how to find a safe, clean, reasonably priced place to stay on Oahu. Tried the usual hotel route and got lots of confusing information...so I took a risk and looked into condo rental and I am very glad I did. This place was convenient, reasonable, full of value, clean, and well appointed. Dam, the bed was even comfortable and we got a parking space too. Tom was also great with communication and meeting us when we arrived, even helped with directions and when we forgot something after checking out. Would highly recommend this place. A great value. It is especially good if you want to be convenient to events, shopping, and Waikiki beach. The Luau bus even picked us up right outside and there are several hop on/hop off tour bus stops around the corner. Please don't just consider hotels, this is a great option.

This place is excellent. we stayed for a total of 5 days and the studio is not only more spacious than your average hotel room but is also fully stocked for your everyday convenience. The agent/owner tom is wonderful. He furnished the place beautifully and was thoughtful enough to place beach necessities like a cooler and a beach chair for our use.Not only is the everyday/weekly rate the most competitive in waikiki but they also offer free parking which is hard to find in a city that usually charges $25 for parking alone per day. The studio is also centrally located at the heart of waikiki, everything, and i mean everything, is within walking distance or a short drive away. If your not feeling up to the hustle and bustle of the city, most of the freeways that will take you to remote places in the island is easily accesible from the studio as well. I will definitely book this place again for my next trip to hawaii.

Having a wonderful time. We are staying in the Peacock condo and couldn't be happier. It feels like home. The location is very convenient to EVERYTHING. If you take any tours they pick you up right in front of the condo. A lot of restaurants and small grocery store close by. Even though there are a lot of places to eat, the condo has a nice size kitchen, fully equipped with cooking and eating accessories.. Queen size bed and couch is very comfortable. Having free long distance service to the mainland and free internet is a definite plus. The condo is nicely decorated and was very clean upon our arrival. Having the washer and dryer on the same floor as our condo is great also. All the necessities for the beach are1 provided. I would definitely rate this condo an A. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again. Thanks Tom and Kelly for helping us make a wonderful memory.

My husband and I stayed here for our 3rd year anniversary. The location is central and everything is walking distance from this property. My husband arrived back to Waikiki from Maui in the early evening. (It was easy to stay in contact and they were able to meet you at anytime. You don't have to worry about time frames).
The associate met me in the lobby while my husband stayed in the car. I was able to see the room and then take care of the payment. I was then directed to the lower level parking garage where my husband was able to park for free. It was great! The room was fantastic. It is decorated tastefully and was very comfortable. The room also had all of the items you need for the beach which makes it very convenient.
I would defnitely recommend this place for anyone visiting. You always want to feel safe, secure, and worry free on vacations. This is the place to stay.

Me and my wife had 5 days to spend in Oahu. It was our 1st time visiting Hawaii and we were looking for places to stay, hotels and so on, when we found this apartment online. She was pregnant and we thought it would be good to be able to cook at home and have a healthier diet whilst there. Looking at the pictures from the owner's website we got very impressed with the place and decided to check it out. We booked online, always got quick replies from Tom. We had a rental car, so we drove from the airport to the property at 10pm, Tom was there waiting for us, gave us all the info we needed about the apartment and the area. We spent our days there wonderfully and in the end just left the keys in the counter... Painless. Tom provided also beach chairs, a cooler (which was wonderful, as we could take fruits and drinks to the beach with us), beach towels and everything else you could think of. Free internet is always helpful too. And the location was perfect. 1 1/2 blocks from the beach, Starbucks and Jamba Juice across the street, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. You can tell it's a good location when it's 1 block away from an apple Store. Those guys know a thing or two about location...

“We had a wonderful stay in the “Bahama Studio”. Although the
reason we selected this unit originally was because of the furnishings
and the price, we were very pleasantly surprised when we checked in that
it was even better than what was shown on the website! It was bright and
extremely clean, we loved being able to relax on the sofa and to be able
to cook and eat at “home”.
Tom’s customer service was great.
Right from the original request he was very timely in getting back to
us. The check-in was very smooth and he was very informative and helpful
to get us settled in. We took advantage of his free airport pickup and
didn’t feel the need to rent a car at all. The unit was very centrally
located and we could walk to almost everywhere we wanted. When we wanted
to go to Chinatown and to Hanauma Bay we just caught the bus that was
right across the street. There were lots of great restaurants close
by...we cooked breakfast and lunch in the unit, but ate out somewhere
different every night. We would definitely recommend this to anyone
wanting to visit Honolulu. It was inexpensive, nicely furnished (the bed
was VERY comfortable) and centrally located.”
