San Francisco, CaliforniaClean, Convenient & Comfortable!
Left on 03/26/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Prime location! Stayed here for 7 days with my family of 4 (spouse & 2 kids, aged 13 & 11). New and modern facilities that made it very comfortable to relax and work at the same time. You can walk around Waikiki for dining, shopping. Ala Moana shopping center is around 10 minutes away by TheBus ($2.50/adult or $1.25/child each way or the Pink Trolley ($2/pp each way). If you rent a car, the parking is valet only and is the most expensive in Waikiki at $35 per day. There are alternate parking garages around Waikiki that are slightly cheaper, but expect to walk -- not bad if you are walking off all the food that you end up eating while on vacation. Top/Bottom Washer and Dryer in the unit was a major plus! Housekeeping will replace & supply you with all the basic supplies that the unit comes with when you arrive - Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, Paper Towels, Dishwasher & Laundry detergent & towels and bath mats. No daily cleaning here - but they said you can request it if you need it. Tv & BluRay DVD in the living room. Flat screen Tv's in each of the bedrooms.
Upon check in, they'll reel you in for a $150 gift card to attend a 90 minute timeshare sales presentation. We attended and got the gift - did not buy. If you decline the 1st time with your salesperson, be prepared to be sold by a manager - and a 3rd manager on your way out. Good sales people who really want to sell Vacation Rental property.
Pool is small and deep (around 7 ft), so it does not get busy. Jacuzzi sometimes does. They have Free Mai Tai's on Sunday for adults and pineapple juice for kids! $3 Pancake breakfasts (by reservation), $3 Ice Cream Sundaes & $3 Shave Ice treats alternating during the week. Check the calendar.
They try to have some activities for kids -- but it needs a lot of improvement. But at least they offer it - it's a start! You are 2-3 blocks from the beach - so be prepared to have a pleasant walk. Nearby aBC stores are convenient for hot food, cold food, drinks & other items.
Overall, very good property to stay at while in Waikiki... why stay in a hotel when you can stay at a Condo and be more comfortable! -

We found this place on Vrbo and it was less expensive and bigger than the Hale Koa down the road. The rooms were nice and the location was awesome. The only problem we had was a midnight fire alarm during a rain storm. That was out of the control of the owners and was likely a teenage prank. I would definately go back. The place is directly across from the famous Yard Bird restraunt and one block from the beach.

Phenomenal location and just a great hotel for families. We stayed in the 2 bedroom presidential and the size of the rooms plus location within Waikiki just made it unbeatable. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the fact that there was a full kitchen with full sized washer dryer meant we packed light and just did laundry every couple days so we avoided checking in a bunch of clothes you never wear anyways. The lanai was great as you could eat breakfast out there or just sit out at night and have a mai tai. Although we didn't choose to eat at close by places (except for once), there are plenty of places to choose from and the International Marketplace is only a few blocks away. The beach is literally a 2 block walk. The swimming pool isn't that great but there is a playroom area with ping pong, pool, foosball, etc. Would definitely stay there again. We found it through Vrbo so it's probably a bit hit or miss.

Left on 01/13/2012 for a stay in November 2011
Good location, close to Waikiki but far enough away from most of the hustle and bustle. Convenient to have a fully-equipped kitchen, especially if you have children travelling with you. Had requested a crib and high chair to be put in room prior to check-in, but neither were brought to our room. Staff were friendly. Pool was disappointing... too small. A/C unit was pretty noisy, but couldn't hear it if BR door is closed. But for anyone sleeping on the sofabed, it can be quite irritating. Couldn't hear any street/neighbourhood noise because patio doors always closed (A/C turns off if doors are open).

Christchurch,New ZealandGreat location - accommodation as you would expect
Left on 11/05/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We stayed at the Waikiki Beachwalk for 10 nights. It is in a great location only a block to the beach with all of the shops and attractions of Waikiki very handy. It also has the problem that goes with the location of street noise at night time - particularly on the weekends. We were on the third floor and imagine it would be better higher up.
The apartment itself has everything you would expect - a comfortable lounge area with large tv, dining table and full kitchen. The decor is pleasant and the bedrooms and bathrooms spacious. Each room has a balcony but very small - room for one chair and small table on each balcony. Full washing machine and dryer and even free refills of laundry detergent.
Pool is a little disapointing as it is very deep with only a very small area where kids can touch bottom.
Overall a very comfortable stay - no complaints at all but no great wow factor either. I guess you are paying for the Waikiki location rather than the property amenities themself. -

I went with my husband and our adult daughter, who just graduated from medical school. That was her graduation present.. The resort was right in the heart of the city...within walking distance to the beach, the mall, several restaurants, and bus pick-ups. Our daughter had a blast doing several water activities. We all did a lot of guided tours, as the resort's activity department was able to get us big discounts to these events. We thoroughly enjoyed each of our 7 days. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. Took time to explain things to us, since that was our first trip ever to Hawaii. Hi is a very beautiful place! We can't wait to go back.

TucsonBeautiful rental, excellent location
Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We stayed at a condo at the Wyndham Waikiki Beachwalk for two weeks in June of 2011. The unit we rented was on the top floor and it was tastefully decorated with an amazing view of Waikiki beach and Diamond head. I think our unit was one of the presidential suites and it had travertine and hardwood floors with an updated kitchen and modern decor. Very nice and moderately kid friendly (we had my two little ones 4 and 1).
We went through redweek.com for the rental and got what I thought was a pretty good deal. My family actually just moved here to Hawaii and this was our home base of operations while we were locating a house to rent and what not. I shipped multiple large boxes from the mainland about 1 month before we arrived and the staff graciously accepted the packages for me and stored them until we arrived. The location of this place is excellent if you want to explore Waikiki as its about 1 block from the beach and surrounded by restaurants and shopping.
My parents were there with us and they didn't think their bed was very comfortable but it could just be because they are getting old :-) because my wife and I thought the beds were fine.
Only negative was the expensive parking (about $30/day) but this is fairly common in all of Honolulu. -

We stayed in a 2 bed.2 bath apartment for 10 nights.. Family of 7 including baby,6year old & 9 year old. We loved our stay, the apartment was roomy and clean. Extra linen was provided promptly with one phone call, also extra washing powder & dishwasher powder. We were asked only once about time share, and never again. We booked car hire and a luau, through the hotel and were very happy with the price. I had looked online before our departure, so I had an idea of what to pay. We all used the pool every day, there are activies available all day for the children. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, the trolley bus goes right past the hotel. There has to be a but, and it is don't get a room above or close to the nightclub. It goes to 4 am every morning and is loud.

Mississauga, CanadaDream vacation - no complaints
Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We stayed at the Wyndham Beach Walk for 10 nights in august. As we were travelling with four other adults, we wanted to find a hotel that could accommodate everyone in one room. We found the Wyndham, and were absolutely thrilled with it.
We stayed in Suite 1206, which had three bedrooms (two rooms with one king size bed each, and one room with two double beds) and two full bathrooms, split on two floors. The top floor was a large master suite, with a king bed and a bathroom with a jetted tub and a separate shower stall. The bottom floor had two bedrooms, a bathroom with a tub/shower, full kitchen, living area, and dining area. Both floors had access to a large balcony. The views weren't fantastic (other hotels), but with the beach being a five-minute walk away, we had no complaints. Each bedroom had a wide-screen TV, and the living room had a big flatscreen, which was nice in the morning so everyone could watch the news. The suite was extremely clean and welcoming. It didn't feel like a rental at all - it felt like we were at home. The jetted tub was a nice surprise as well. Both bathrooms were extremely clean and had Bath and Body Works toiletries. Housekeeping came once during our stay, which worked out well, since there was a washing machine and dryer in the suite.
The grounds are lovely. The only (slight) complaint would be the pool/hot tub area. It's quite small, but not too busy. It's also very shady, which is a nice alternative to the beach where shade is hard to come by. In the lobby area, they have a different social event every day. For example, they had Hawaiian card making, a shave ice station, lei making stand, and movie nights. Outside of the property is a pizza restaurant and a night club. Other reviewers have said that the property is quite loud - we cannot attest to this because we were on a high floor, but the hotel is located on a busy part of the beach. It's as busy as any other major city in North america. There is a ton of great shopping and great restaurants right outside the hotel - ABC Store (two, actually), Cheeseburger in Paradise, Honolulu Cookie Company, Honolua Surf Co, , Crazy Shirts, Yard House, etc. The upscale shopping district is a block away.
What we loved about the Wyndham Beach Walk was the central location - everything was a short walk away. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful (especially in the parking garage!) The only small drawbacks were the small pool/hot tub area, and small elevators - by no means a deal breaker. We would absolutely recommend this property, and hope to return soon! -

Washington, DCGreat condo - shame about the noise
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The property is on the 3rd floor of the Wyndham. It is centrally located, spacious, clean, comfortable, and has everything that you need. The sofabed in the lounge area was a bit saggy but there was plenty of room to lay out the mattrass on the floor. The noise from the nightclub 2 floors down (which stays open until 4am), and the surrounding bars and restaurants really spoils the experience for a family but it might be a great location if partying till late is what you're in Waikiki to do. The Wyndham property itself is ok but the pool is really really small, and parking is $30 per day. The owners were helpful providing hints and tips about things to do and ways to save money while using the apartment. It took them a while to send us a proper confirmation for the Wyndham which was a little worrying but it all came through in the end. We did not get much pressure to attend a timeshare presentation - we were asked twice and politely declined.

When we arrived we were placed in a street side second floor unit. Right below us was a sleepy night spot that awoke at midnight and went went into full party mode until 4 am. They were able to move us to pool side after a couple of days, but in the mean time they suggested we use ear plugs...which were placed in a basket on the counter like candy. The people were great. They just were trying to make the best with a bad situation.

Owner
I can always request a pool side unit for you in the future away from the noise or a unit located anywhere in the Main Tower. 95% of all units never receive any type of noise complaints. The Wyndham is in the absolute best location (The Beach Walk area) in all of Waikiki. The Wyndham is one of the highest rated resort Condos in all of Waikiki Beach. I have many customers who come every year ..... year after year, from all over the World.

Wyndham is super good. My friend recommended it to me. Our whole family stayed there for a week. Everyone loves it. The hotel room has everything we need, including rice cooker and hot water dispenser. I recommended it to my other friends. They all had a great time there too.
