We were right on Waikiki Beach, with a balcony that had views of the beach and of the city skyline. We could see the magnificent sunsets every night, and had the beautiful illuminated skyline of the city at night. The condo was very well-equipped, full kitchen, very comfortable king-sized bed, and all the amenities you would need. We loved it!

Great accommodations with well stocked condo. We have stayed at the Waikiki Shore several times and this was the best experience yet. It was nice to come to the condo with some basic supplies already in place. Made it much more pleasant.

Although the rental went off without a hitch and the unit is in a fantastic location, from the beginning of the reservation I felt like I was dealing with a hotel. When I mentioned that I was arriving at 1 pm, I felt resistance to letting me in the unit
before 3 pm and in fact had to wait until 2 pm for access. I was told the unit was being cleaned from previous guests even though the availability calendar did not show the unit occupied prior to my arrival. I have rented numerous places in many locations
and had just arrived here from Kona. All of my previous rentals were eager to accommodate me whenever I arrived, Kona let me in at 11 am. Since the unit is right on a sandy beach, I thought the unit would have boogie boards, snorkel masks and a cooler for
outside activities as I have found everywhere else. Nothing - had to rent any items I wanted to use. Also, there was no seasonings for cooking (not even salt/pepper) as I have found everywhere else. If you plan to cook any of your meals, you have to buy everything
you need. The rules forbid you to leave anything for the next guests so if you have unopened canned goods or beverages, you have to toss them, including left over cooking oil and seasonings. I did not get the homey feel to this unit as I have in most other
places I've stayed. It seemed to be more like a hotel rental where you have to pay extra for every little thing and risk hefty fines for violating rules.Response from Captain Cook Resorts - 09/30/2011

We try and accommodate early arrivals for our guests if our housekeeping schedule allows. I have checked our reservation board for this time period and the unit was previous occupied and did not allow enough time to be cleaned for an early check-In. Even with these time constraints our Housekeeping staff worked very diligently to have the condo ready for the guest by 2pm one hour early. Each vacation rental is furnished by the individual owner, I will pass along the comments for beach articles. We do provide a courtesy starter supply of various supplies and paper products, but unfortunately we do not keep foodstuff from previous guests in the unit due to safety and cleanliness.

Can't beat the location for convenience and access to local attractions. A few steps and you're on the beach. Dine in and be seated with a great ocean view! We had a few issues at the apartment which were sorted as soon as possible. Could do with a new shower and fridge, but were quite usable. Didn't need the a/c as the ceiling fans and open windows provided enough cooling air. Probably need it in the summer.....although the temperature was in the 80 degrees most days at this time of year (feb/mar). Kevin, who checked us in, was very helpful and friendly.

We are checking to see what the problem is with the airconditioner and will have it fixed. We are also contacting the guest to see about the other issue. She did not call us while she was here. We have Japanese speaking staff on duty to assit our visitors from Japan.

When we departed W.S. #1110 unfortunately the brief case was locked inside the condo--airplane tickets etc.. I called the office (Suzzane) within 1/2 hour a person comes to W.S. and unlocked the condo. Great response and very helpful staff. We'll come back again (16 years with Capt. Cook).
