My husband and I spent a week in 15a and I have to say it was by far one of the most inviting and comfortable places we have stayed. The owners do an excellent job at anticipating your needs with beach equipment, binoculars, kitchen equipment, toiletries, and BBQ grill just to name a few. The condo is very modern and extremely clean. The beds were super comfortable. The staff with abbey Vacation Rentals were very helpful and easy to deal. We definitely plan on returning to this location in our future vacations to Hawaii.

very nice place,,,
- went to use the oven,, it did not work..
- dishwasher was acting up
- no children under 13 in hot tub, half the time there four to six in there,,
- there were only two chairs on the lanni and there were four of us in a two bedroom condo..??
- bring a flashlight if you are checking in after dark, so you can see the numbers on the lock box to get the key out -

This place was magnificent in every way. We enjoyed 10 relaxing days in unit 15a. Almost everyday we saw spinner dolphins and whales from the Lanai. The blue Pacific was marvelous and peaceful. I can't remember a more relaxing vacation. I would go again to unit 15a in a heartbeat.

This apartment is absolutely gorgeous. It is extremely tastefully decorated and very comprotable. Our son *loved* having a big bed plus a day bed with dozens of pillows for great pillow fights. The lanai was awesome (wet bar + BBQ) and we enjoyed the clicking geckos each evening too. The kitchen is very well equipt, the bathrooms have heaps of towels, and the wireless internet is great. The swimming pool (plus spa) are just fabulous and the adults can enjoy a mai tai while the sunsets as the kids keep swimming. If you can't be bothered going back to the apartment to cook, you can grab dinner at the cafe by the pool. The apartment is a very easy walk along the ocean to the Hilton, which has an amzing array of activities for kids and adults alike. There is now Queens shops to add to Kings shops, and between the two you have everything you need right there in Waikoloa.

an exceptionaly well landscaped property. Give credit to those guys! The unit was fairly well decorated, but the view and overall feel was top notch.Nothing like sitting on the lanai and hearing the outrigger canoes going by in the morning while sipping "peaberry" Kona coffe and eating papaya drizzled with lime.The portable grill on the lanai was a pleasant surprise. You can gril ahi, Ono, or grass fed Hawaiian burgers while watching the sun set.The gourmet kitchen was nice, but you would think they would give you some salt, pepper, and maybe a few basic spices.Certainly overpriced but a nice slice of paradise, none the less. I'd go again! [with a discount] P.S. The bar manager[not the bartender] was rude.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ocean front condo. The "beach" in front of the condo is black lava rock which is difficult to walk on so it's not a place to get down to the ocean. Nearby there are plenty of other terrific beaches such as "A" Bay and Hapuna Beach, but you do have to drive. That said, the ocean view is great. We happened to be here during the humpback whale migration and we saw them breeching out of the water nearly all day long everyday for a week. The condo has two large bedrooms and a fully appointed kitchen. It's nicely decorated with granite, slate floors along with a Hawaiian decor I really like. It is modern, very clean and a fantastic balcony with very comfortable patio furniture. The grounds are beautiful with lovely plantings and it is well lit so you can take an evening stroll. The pool is nice and very unique, designed to look like a lagoon. It overlooks the ocean and has many little spots to sit. They have a small fitness centre with a handful of machines to use. There is a poolside bar/restaurant there too. We ate at the condo restaurant only once and it was a horrible meal. I don't think they actually cook there but bring in prepared meals. Everything tasted microwaved! The Hali'i Kai has plenty of shopping nearby at the King's Shops and the Queen's Shops and there are some good restaurants in there too. We shopped at some larger grocery stores in Waikoloi Village and barbequed on our deck most nights. We enjoyed watching the sunset most evenings and saved some money cooking our own meals. There are plenty of televisions and internet access too. It also has a golf course although we did not golf.

My husband and I visit the Big Island of Hawaii each year!
This year we chose to stay at Halii Kai unit 15 . It was a wonderful unit with a breath taking ocean front view. We could stand in the kitchen and see the ocean from three sides of the unit. On the second floor it made for a quiet & peaceful experience. Sitting out on the Lani you could watch spinner dolphin frolicking in the waters below and a Humpback spraying and breaching in view right before our eyes! The private Ocean Club pool area is where we enjoyed breakfast and an early dinner from time to time. The food was excellent! The staff there was friendly and helpful in every way.
The folks at abbey Rental were also just wonderful. Check in was easy and the Unit was nice and clean with everything you could ever need including a fully stocked kitchen! We are looking forward to returning to Halii Kai again next year and will definately book our stay with abbey Rental once again!

We just got back fromn 6 nights in condo 15a at the Halii Kai. It was perfect. Amazing condo with the best view of the ocean. Very clean and very well furnished. We loved having breakfast on the lanai. We also liked that the kids had their own room, washroom and TV. I realise that vacations are all about family but sometimes getting abit of time alone on the lanai is good!!! and as an adult there's just so much Disney channel i can watch! Abbey rentals were fantastic. The check-in was easy and the condo was spotless when were arrived. We would more than reccomend this condo.

We loved the condo. It was spotless, extremely well maintained (it looked new), and was better(!) than the photos on the Web, although we had based our decision on those photos. The maintenance staff we met was very courteous and helpful: in one instance, we asked a gentleman for another propane bottle for the BBQ: he gave us three! All in all, we would recommend unhesitatingly and will surely ckeck in with you if we return to Hawai'i. Mahalo!

Everything was comfortable, clean, easy and fun! We loved the BBQ on the lanai and we cooked our dinners there every night as we watched the sunset. The pool and bar was extremely convenient and enjoyable. We will definitely return and stay in the same unit.

We were more than thrilled with this condo unit. It exceeded our expectation~ The view was spectacular and we had a view of the whales everyday. The condition of the condo was great. The pool area was outstanding. I would highly recommend Hali iKai.

Hali'i Kai 15A is a wonderful condo in an amazing location...right ON the ocean. It is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities. We stayed here during whale season and the show off the lanai was incredible !! We got the best whale photos we've ever taken. We even cancelled a whale watch boat trip because the boats were coming to the area right off the lanai and we could see the whales better from the condo !! I recommend this condo highly and can't wait until we are able to return. Abbey Rental is a delight to work with and I highly recommend them as well.

My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous vacation home with another couple for 4 nights. Everything was top quality, clean and well maintained. The view from the deck was perfect - we enjoyed sipping both coffee in the morning and wine at sunset while overlooking the black lava rock and the blue Pacific. The pool and bar/restaurant were just lovely - we used the open-air exercise room and had several drinks and meals at poolside. The location also suited our needs perfectly...we especially enjoyed having such a nice shopping area within just a few miles.

Just returned from a week at Hali'i Kai. The unit was very nice. Loved being right on the water!! We sat out on the lanai every morning and evening. It was just perfect. The pool is just a quick walk away, much closer than it appeared on the map shown on the website. The pool was perfect for my 20 month old. Had a section that was only a foot deep!! The restaurant there had fantastic food. Wish we tried it on the first night...we would've eaten there more often!! Originally debated between this unit and one at Kolea. Definitely made the right choice!!

Beautiful condo with fantastic views, wonderful pool facilities, and a great restaurant. We have stayed at many lovely condos on the islands, but none have offered the amenities of the Hali'i kai complex.
The condo itself could use a few more cooking supplies--salt, pepper, sugar, and other spices. Other than that, no complaints.
We look forward to returning again soon! -

Hali'i Kai 15A is a wonderful condo -- it is attractively decorated, has fabulous ocean views, and is very close to the complex's gorgeous oceanside pool/club.
Abbey Vacations was very responsive. Everything went smoothly with our arrival, the condo was immaculate and the couple of times we needed something during our vacation, the company responded quickly, efficiently and pleasantly.
We highly recommend both Hali'i Kai and Abbey Vacations. -

2008 Visit to Big Island

We have stayed in this Unit for the past two years. It is very clean and is extremely nice to live in during our visits to the Big Island.
The view can't be matched as it is located right on the water. The whales are fun to watch while sitting on the Lanai.
The only thing that we would like to ask for is assigned parking.
We did enjoy our visit once again and would consider staying here again. -

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and have stayed in
some very nice hotels. We truly felt we were in one of those fine
hotels in this condo with a bonus, our 16 month old son had room to
play and we could enjoy family meals on our schedule. The condo
exceeded our expectations in it's furnishings and style. We spent
many hours on the lanai just watching the ocean and were amazed
every night by the sunset. The pool facilities provided us with many
hours of sun and relaxation. The best sand beaches were only a short
drive from our condo which was nice too. We enjoyed the shops and
restaurants close to the condo's. Merriweather's was a favorite of ours
for a quick lunch or dinner bite with our son. This was one of the first
vacations we were not ready to end because it felt like we were home.
Our only wish is we would have been there during whale season to see
that amazement. We will return someday. -

The condo was wonderful...the view was beyond description. We watched whales everyday. We would have liked a barbecue on the deck or at the unit..we had to go down to the pool to barbeque which was a pain.
The unit when we moved in should of been cleaner (I called they fixed the problems the next day.) The towels and bedding were not up to par with the rent and were stained...only 1 small fry pan ( rental agency bought us another larger one)
The positives out wayed the negitives and we would rent this unit again!
The hot tub was also at the pool which was close. We are golfers and we had wonderful time. merrily -

We were on our Honeymoon and it was peaceful, quiet and everyone was very friendly. Having been to Kona it was nice to experience the Waikola area for a change. The home was gorgeously decorated and was very comfortable in every way.

We really enjoyed our week at Hali'i Kai 15A. The condo is beautifully decorated, the colors & decor are classy. A pet peeve of mine is the tacky version of 'tropical decor' that so many condos seem to incorporate. This home is high end all of the way. The kitchen is well equipped. The lanai overlooks the lava rock & ocean, we spent a lot of time there enjoyng the water & sunset. The oceanside pool area is beautiful. Abbey vacation Rentals was great to deal with & prompt with responses. This was one of our best vacations to Hawaii & we travel there every year.
