Lacombe, Alberta CanadaB201 Great stay!!
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed in Waikoloa B201 for 10 days in March 2013. We traveled with 2 adults and 2 children (age 13 and 17). The condo was perfect for us. The kids enjoyed their own room (we had to rearrange the beds) and the massive lanai was enjoyed from morning until night!!! The condo was very clean and well equipped. There are enough supplies for a few days but if you have room in your suitcase pack some laundry and dishwasher tabs and toilet paper along (groceries are expensive on the Big Island). The room is very close to the Bbqs (which are excellent) and the pool. The grounds are kept clean and maintained every day. Buy your groceries at Costco and in Wailkoloa Village for the best value. Do not hesitate to stay here it is wonderful. Other reviews spoke of the road noise, we were never bothered by the road noise. The area is quiet. The only thing that the unit could use are new beds.
Enjoy your stay!!! -

Fort St. John, BC2nd time with abbey Vacation Rentals - Great Experience!
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in March 2012
This was our second visit at Vista Waikoloa and our first time in Unit B201. Our stay in this unit was perfect. Loved the proximity to the pool and BBQ area. The unit is well maintained and has everything you need. The condo location to a-Bay and to Kings Shops is excellent.
Thanks again to abbey Vacation Rentals for your great service once again! I hope to come back very soon! -

We enjoyed our stay at Vista Waikoloa. The condo was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed. The pool was nice and we were invited to a Pupu party put on by owners during our stay. The beach is walking distance (15-20 min) but we drove. There is a bar/grill at the beach and enjoyed drinks and nachos and the view. It is close to shopping at Kings Mall and Queens Mall and also enjoyed an outdoor market at Kings Mall. It is also close to drive to Hapuna Beach which is definately worth a visit. If you want a nice condo, with good location to beach, shopping and day trip to Wailea area, I recommend this condo.

Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Everything was exactly as appeared in the condo description. The property was farther to the beach than we thought. (about a 15 minute walk) You would definitely not want to walk this walk with todlers or mobility issues! Condo was well equipped. Only negatives were small ants in the master bedroom bathroom, a dead cockroach in the front door window ledge, and very small washer and dryer. "A" beach was very rough and churned up when we were there. You needed water shoes and it was not good for snorkelling. Pool was heated and not busy. Fitness center was small but adequate. All in all a great value for your money.

The condo was wonderful and clean. The bedrooms were comfortable and the living room was as well. Dinner on the deck was a refreshing break from the cold of the northwest in winter. The kitchen was well equipped.

Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We had a lovely time in our condo at Waikaloa. The condo was huge and beautiful. The pool is close to the condo, and never crowded. The nearest beach is a bit of a walk with all of your beach gear, but the waters were calm and the beach was nice. We went to several difference beaches in the vicinity, which was fun, and didn't take too much driving. The whole process with the condo was easy, and we were pleased with our stay. Highly recommended!

Edmonton, Alberta, CanadaGreat condo at Waikoloa
Left on 04/13/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This condo is fantastic! The lanai is huge, with both a lounging area and an eating area. The layout of the condo was perfect for our family of two adults and two children, and it is in a very convenient location close to the pool and barbeque area. There was even a playpen and high chair there for us to use for our 1 year old. The only negative about the unit is that the bed in the master bedroom was quite worn out and not very comfortable.
We were originally booked in this unit for two weeks, but one week into our stay we woke up to a flood in the hallway. In the middle of the night, the water supply line to the air conditioner burst at a failed t-connection and water was spraying inside the laundry closet. We called abbey Vacation Rentals right away, and they handled the issue just flawlessly. We understand that things like this just happen and it's not their fault or ours, and abbey did everything they could to remedy the situation for us. We were able to shut off the water once we saw where the leak was, but it was too late and the place was really wet. Abby didn't hesitate to find us an equivalent condo to move into on very short notice, and they came and helped us move that morning. The condo we moved into was at the Fairway Villas, also part of the Waikoloa Beach Resort, and it was a fantastic condo as well. Moving was a pain, but at least abby remedied the situation and moved us instead of making us stay in a soaking wet condo with a massive fan running for days and no air conditioning! -

Left on 03/16/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Very good accommodation. Good supply of towels, dishes, pots and pans. It would have been helpful if there was a cooler and beach chairs to take on your day trips. The biggest disappointment we had was the mattress in the master bedroom. It was poor quality and not the standard you would find in a hotel. The condon complex was very nice. Nice grounds and gym.

Sacramento, CAFeels like home
Left on 07/31/2010 for a stay in June 2010
This is our 4th stay at the Vista Waikoloa. Our first stay was in B026 with our family. We then moved to B201 as B206 was not available. We loved the fact that we faced the lawn, pool and mountains and was so peaceful. Our favorite thing to do was sit on the balcony and have our coffee in the early morning. The grandchildren loved the fact that the pool was so close.
It just feels like home no matter if we come alone or bring along the family. Looking forward to 2011. -

Left on 03/24/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The condo had everything we needed, was spacious (for family of 4 in our case), nicely decorated, comfortable furniture - it made our vacation perfect! It was great to be able to cook our own meals/do laundry when necessary as opposed to eating out etc. as we usually stay in hotels on vacations. The instructions we received prior (how to get into the complex/unit etc.) were clear and we had no problems.
We could walk to a beach, a few shops and restaurants, and to the local hotels, and drive easily to many beaches (5 or 10 mins), other shopping (Kona - 30 mins) and other island attracations (Hilo - beautiful 1.5 hour drive north, volcanoes - beautiful 3 hour drive south).
The complex was quiet, had a big, clean pool, with nice sitting areas, access to barbeque area, and the grounds were beautiful (tropical plants/flowers to admire from the lanai)and maintained well.
Overall, cannot think of anything to complain about - this was a fantastic trip and we would highly recommend this unit/area - we will be back! -

We loved our stay in Waikola. The 2 beaches nearby were great for our
kids, one for beachcombing, the other with its smaller waves was perfect
for kid swimming. The condo was comfortable and well laid out for the
five of us with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and
spacious master bedroom with a beautiful ensuite bathroom. The L shaped
lanai allowed for some of us to play cards while others lounged in another
section and enjoyed the garden view. We will definitely be back. -

Left on 11/11/2009 for a stay in November 2009
We enjoyed the condo. It was spacious and close to the Hilton Waikoloa - where we were attending a conference. The only problem was that the master bathroom's shower did not have hot water - lukewarm/room temperature at best. We called Abbey Rentals and they promptly sent over a handyman to fix it, but the water remained cool.

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in February 2008
We stayed in Condo B201 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the area of Waikoloa to be exceptional. It was so close to 3 of the most beautiful beaches - Hapuna, A'Bay & Mauna Lani. Our son was only 3 when we went, so we would head to the beaches in the mornings, then to the condo for lunch, then head off to sightsee along the coast while he had his nap in the car. The drive up to Waimea and then along the coast was fantastic. Everyday we headed out to see all the Big Island had to offer. We toured the Pololu Valley, the Waipio Valley and then followed the rainforest drive through Laupahoehoe Bay to Hilo. From there we toured around Volcanoes National Park which was really cool and so different from the lushness of the north coast. It was also a short drive south to Kona, where we went on a snorkelling boat to Kealakekua Bay. We really took in all that the Big Island had to offer. The shopping area near the condo was good - especially the restaurant there. We shopped at the grocery store in Waikoloa village (6 miles away) and also over in Mauna Lani shopping area where they had a great organic supermarket with lots of fresh fish and roasted chicken for take-away. The condo was very nice -we spent lots of time on the balcony which overlooked the pool. The smaller bedroom worked well for our 3 yr old and the master bath was spacious. The only problems we seemed to have with the condo was the security gate at the entrance. It was a bit finicky and always took several tries before the gate would actually swing open. We would love to go back to the Big Island - it is a truly magical place.

this condo met and surpassed our expectations. it was exactly as described. teh landscaping at the condo complex was stunning and an unexpected bonus. was pool and two hot tubs (different temps to meet differnt preferences)were clean and in a bright sunny location..very pleasant. the proximity to shops and resaurants was a big plus for us and an amazing hotel complex right across the street was something we also took advantage of. we snorkeled in their lagoon and paid a day fee to check out their pool/water park. working with the people at abbey was also very pleasant. every employee i contacted was seemed genuinely interested in being helpful. mahalo to abbey and all the good poeple of hawaii that we encountered!

Property was beautiful but the entire premises was overrun by cockroaches. Maintenance sprayed once but it didn't help. We couldn't use the kitchen to cook. All of our food had to be thrown out. It was very disappointing considering the amount of money we paid.

A reality of living in a tropical paradise, is that ants, etc. are a fact of life that have to be dealt with. At the Vista Waikoloa Complex, each of our units are treated quarterly for pests. And in the unfortunate event of a bug sighting, we seek to very quickly have the problem addressed. Checking our records, we were not aware that once the problem was continued once this unit was re-treated. Since the time of this stay, August 2007 until now, January 2009, we have not had another complaint concerning pest sighting in this unit.

This is our third vacation in Waikoloa and at the Vistas. The first year we were in a unit right on the street - beautiful view of the sunset but noisy. We then found B201 and fell in love. The balcony/lanai faces the gardens, Mauna Kea and the gate to the pool. We are close to the barbecue area, workout room, etc.
We love the decor as it is Hawaiian but also very cozy. My husband and I always take the master suite with the balcony just outside, the granddaughters take the pull out sofa and our daughter has the front bedroom.
It is just a short walk to A Bay for swimming, snorkeling, etc. One of my favorite things to do at the Vistas is to take off on my morning walk around the resort. In the evening we always take a walk down to the beach to watch the sunset.
When we arrive it is always clean and ready for us to just "move in". There are beach towels for everyone and rafts, etc. for the beach.
I have always recommended The Vistas to friend and family as well as B201. After walking past all the condos in Waikoloa I feel that the Vistas has the best to offer.
