Our stay at Kolea 4B was wonderful. Abbey Vacation Rentals made sure that we were happy with everything. The condo was huge - lots of room for a family of four. Our large lanai had a view of the ocean - great for watching whales during breakfast. The condo was very well-furnished, and very quiet when the lanai wall was closed.
The property was beautiful. It's a short walk to the pool and hot tub, which were small but never crowded. Just beyond the pool is the beach at a Bay, which offers lots of water activities - kayaks, stand-up surfboards, glass-bottom boat rides and so on (and often sea turtles, too).
There are lots of shopping and dining options nearby, and easy access to the airport and Kailua/Kona, though we did a lot more driving than on the other islands. This really is the big Island!
About the only issue we had was the starter kit of supplies. We stayed for seven nights, but the kit lasted just over half that. To have to buy two or three days worth of bathroom tissue and dishwasher tabs and the like is inconvenient, and inconsistent with everything else about the property. Not a big thing, and that was as bad as it got.
Overall, we were very comfortable at Kolea 4B. Whatever we did all day (or night) from snorkelling to whale-watching to driving up the mountain to hiking to whatever, it was always great to get back and know we had room to relax, a kitchen available and lots of showers. It was a fantastic home-base for our vacation! -

Abbey Rentals is a friendly, professional & reliable group that accurately represents the properties. Our family has utilized their services for about 7 years and will continue to do so. The condo we rented in Waikaloa met all our expectations. The property is in good condition, & has all the necessities to assist in a relaxing holiday. The location offers ready access to many of the areas attractions, beaches, golf, adventure etc. One disadvantage is the early 11am check out. For the price, a later checkout would be preferred - especially since check in is 4pm.

Everything was a 5 star experience at the Waikoloa beach rental we rented from abbey vacation rentals! A beautiful condo, lived the pocket door that opened up to paradise! We also enjoyed grilling out on the veranda! We will definately rent again from abbey Vacation Rentals!

This condo was wonderful for three adult couples. All the rooms were ample and comfortable. The evening gathering on the lanai with a toast to the sunset was always a great way to end the day. The kitchen was large enough for three cooks. It could use some more bowls for serving. But that was a minor inconvenience. We have all pledged to return.

Great space, especially the ability to make the lanai and living-kitchen areas common through the glass panel folding pocket door. Private washrooms to each bedroom were elegant. Appliances are well done. Accessibility to the beach through the lovely pool area was excellent. The view?...couldn't match it if you tried.
Twice, the elevator shutdown, but maintenance response was good. The master toilet runs because the red rubber tank seal valve is worn out and needs to be replaced. (Had to be manually sealed by removing the tank lid and manually pushing in place.) -

After driving the hot lava fields, we all felt very special the moment we entered the gate at Kolea. Our appreciation of the landscaping, pool and tranquil grounds only grew throughout our stay as we witnessed and contemplated what went into maintaining this lush paradise in such an arid place.
4B was grand. Garden parking, beautiful gated entry and impressive exterior architecture. Our "fun" private elevator. Amazing 2600 sq. ft. of open, spacious, tiled and luxuriously appointed living. Fans, dimmers, zoned a/C, W+D, Wi-Fi, the huge Lanai pocket wall with retactable sun screens. We loved the Lanai. Breezy, views, cozy couches - a great place to share breakfast with the birds and Champagne at sunset.
The best location in Waikoloa - it's essentially on the beach, morning runs to, thru and around the grounds of the Hilton (Note: a couple hours at Hilton's pool was enough of that place)and the Marriot.
Almost everything you could need plus fun shopping, coffee, farmer's market, bike shops, restaurants and convenience at the king & queens. Nice central location for exploring the entire leeward coast (though traffic delays slow things down south into Kona.)
We had a great time here - King & Queens ourselves for 5 days! -

This condo was amazing! Fantastic location, beautiful view, quiet, clean, functional and spacious layout. Great beach access and activities complete with turtles and whales! Nice pool and spa and gym facilities. When we return to the big island, we will hope this unit is available! Comfortably accommodated our family of 5.

The property was very upscale and the location great. Access to the beach/shopping is perfect The on-site staff were very friendly. Perhaps the best condo we have ever stayed in. We will definitely return and recommend to others.
The only negatives were: the A/C in 4B had issues staying at the desired temp. The fitness center is weak, only has 3 cardio pieces..no weights. The condos are rented on several websites, so check all 3-4 sites to gain access to all rental units. -

We rented this condo for 4 nights at the end of 15 days in Hawaii. It was the best of all the places we stayed (including the Hilton). The views were great. We spent many hours on the lanai...what a restful place! Beach towels and a cooler were available for our use.The Beach Club had everything we could ask for including pool, hot tub and very helpful and accomodating staff. Turtles on the beach were an added bonus. Would highly recommend this condo to anyone planning a trip to the big island!

Great unit with good view. Empty lot across the street making for a
good ocean view. We have staid in the Koleas before (not this
particular one and really liked them). Everything about the unit
was fine except for the air conditioning. Some of the bedrooms
were hot, others very cold. That was the only drawback. We liked the
bedroom configurations for three couples since they had two king
bedrooms and one queen bedroom. Other units we staid in had the
queen bedroom as twins. -

We so enjoyed our time on the Big Island. Your home was lovely and very comfortable and very much like home. When we travel it is always hit and miss whether the beds will be comfortable and yours were wonderful.
We will definately plan on visiting again.

Everything about this unit was wonderful. All the appointments, including the high-end appliances, were new, beautiful, and immaculate. The patio was a big win, and with the automatic sliding door open, the whole unit opened up to the outside. I would DEFINITELY stay at this unit again.

Our family spent the Thanksgiving week with our daughters, their husbands and grandson. The condo was beautiful; the view was fabulous. The kitchen and grilling facilities were high quality, convenient and easy to use.
We loved the rollback wall that allowed us to bring the outdoors inside. We enjoyed the patio for coffee and dinner. The condo was spacious and furnished exquisitely. The elevator access the the second floor was great.
We would love to come back and stay in this same condo again in the future. We usually stay in hotels, but we truly enjoyed this experience and may stay more often in condos of this caliber in the future.
