Woodland Hills, CAKolea 6E is an Outstanding Home away from Home...I should be so
Left on 10/25/2012 for a stay in October 2012
A sliding 6-panel window wall that opens to Over 20 feet ...providing a Living Window, with a sweeping view of "A" bay, situated on the coastline in Waikaloa, Hawaii. From the expansive lanai, we enjoyed beautiful views of the ocean and Mauna Loa. This second floor residence with private elevator, 3 bedrooms + 3.5 baths was better than our wildest imagination, and far surpassed the photos. We were elated at the grandeur, beauty and superior craftsmanship of this property...quality, sophistication and elegance exuded from every corner of this $2,000,000 "vacation" property. I wish it was mine everyday...what a fantastical "place" to live. We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 night stay at Kolea 6E, and recommend it wholeheartedly. An outstanding property, AaA+++. Enjoy!

Grand Forks, NDFabulous accommodations near the beach!
Left on 02/22/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Abbey Vacation Rentals was very helpful and gave great service when we had simple questions. The unit was gorgeous, clean, and very comfortable for a relaxing vacation rental. The location was ideal, and we have already decided that we would rent in again in a heart beat!

Woodland Hills, CAAwesome experience
Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Like our first experience, we were not disappointed the second time. Not to keen this time with the keyed elevator but guess owner feels more secure. Parts of the beach in front appears to have been affected by the Japanese tsunami but have many other nice beaches close by.

vancouverOverall good except for the lack of cleanliness of the suite
Left on 01/19/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Kolea 6E was a nice unit comprable to my previous stay at 7b. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the suite left a lot to be desired. The garbage pail was not cleaned at all. The shower areas were dirty. The carpet had footprints on for the second guest room. A few pieces of clothing were left behind. Since abbey charges a hefty fee for cleaning this was certainly not expected! Other suggestions for improvement inclulde a new microwave since the display for time is virtually unreadable, felt pads under the feet of the dining chairs and pads for the chairs. We are going back to the same unit for 13 days in February so our expectation is for a clean suite this time!

This is a beautiful place just like the pictures show. However, it is pricey and the unit was not as clean as it should have been (stains on linens in 1 bedroom, carpet a little dirty). Also, the gourment kitchen is a bit lacking when it comes to cookware, bowls, etc. if you plan to cook.
The other disappointment was the pool. Very small for the number of units and COLD (not heated). The kiddie pool is in shade all day so also very cold.
This place is very secluded, you won't see anyone if you don't want to.Response from Abbey Vacation Rentals - 03/24/2010

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in February 2008
We really like the unit and the entired place. The views, the short pleasant walk to beach, and upscale outdoor mall, the pool, the birdlife, the cleanliness were all great. My only complaints were that the barbecue was impossible to use. My wife who is an engineer never could figure out how to start it and even burned off her eyebrows trying to start it. The other thing that made me angry was that when we arrived there was no key because the cleaning people had it and were still cleaning, and they refused to answer the door so we were left waiting outside with our luggage not knowing what was going on. When I called to complain about it later, the person acted like I had nothing to complain about.

Left on 01/09/2009 for a stay in July 2008
We had a remarkable vacation in Hawaii celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Our stay in Kolea 6E was one of many highlights. The condo was beautiful and had great views. Dual master suites with walk-in showers gave both my parents and us private spaces. We enjoyed a luau at the Marriott and dinner at Kamuela Provision Company in the Hilton - a short walk up the shore.

Beautiful condo, beautiful beach, beautiful pool, beautiful ... well you get the point. Best vacation our family ever had: great diving, turtles everywhere, sunset sail, good maid service, 4-wheeling up north with the cowboys, (Their team roping skills couldn't keep up with us Wyoming boys[3 out of 4 times went to Wyoming]). Views of the sunsets, ocean, beach are world class. Private entrance with elevator and the open tropics design sold us. Top quality beds, kitchen apointments, and TVs. Thank you,

Having not used the website before, we found the property listed under Abbey Rentals to be exactly what was described. A gated community, the property and specific home was beautifully appointed and what we would consider top notch. There was some construction of single family homes nearby which created some noise, however we took the opportunity to take a walk and take a sneak peek. First hand look at what $10MM would buy you. Quite impressive. Overall outstanding experience and would not hesitate to seek out the property again.

Left on 12/15/2008 for a stay in May 2008
We've stayed twice at Kolea Villas, once in a penthouse unit and once in Unit 6E. This gated, upscale community is luxurious. We chose both units based upon view and decor and enjoyed each of them. Unit 6E (a second floor unit) will lose most of its ocean view if the lot across the private street is built out with a home. The partial ocean views and palm tree landscaping will, however, still provide a lush and pleasant experience. We found 6E nicely decorated and well furnished with the exception of some kitchen supplies (pans, etc.). The greatest pleasure was waking up in the morning and rolling back the huge pocket doors and opening the entire living room and kitchen area to the outdoors. The large lanai is comfortably and pleasantly furnished and we used the lanai extensively. The unit provides two master suites with soaking tubs and large tiled showers. The third room also has its own bath but is more traditional (shower/tub). We timed our stayed when occupancy was low and have some concerns that the property may become busy, especially poolside. The pool is beautiful and there is extensive beach to explore just down the path by the pool. Unit 6E is a very good unit in an upscale community and we continue to recommend it to people we meet.
