My husband and I sepent a wonderful month in this condo at Kolea in the Waikoloa area of the Big Island. The condo is tastfully decorated, has most all amenities necessary for a month long stay and is wonderfully located. We loved the easy access to the beach as we love to take a morning swim in the ocean...not always easy on a lava island!

Really well equiped and spacious place. Kolea is definetely the nicest part of Waikoloa. Property managers were promptly available for any issues that arose. Great place to bring toddlers. Walking distance to everything you could need. Bathrooms are massive. Plentry of dining and lounging space. Shortest of walks to the pools. Not cheap but would definetely stay here again.

This was our second visit staying at Kolea within the Waikoloa area, and again it did not dissapoint. This time we stay in the larger of the 2 bedroom condos(roughly 1550sq/ft) and it was perfect on all accounts.
We picked up our hire car after quick 40 minute flight from Honolulu and it is a quick 15 minute drive up the road after turning left out of airport. 11B is located on the second floor and using the buildings lift was easy to get all of our luggage upstairs.
Upon entering condo 11B you are surprised by how big the foyer and living area are, the nd beroom which has a beautiful queen bed in it was an instant hit with our 7 year old daughter who loved lying on the bed watching the kids shows on the flat screen lcd tv with cable. The room is quite large and has 2 built in wardrobes and its own wet area with a little glass door bar fridge and sink. The ensuite bathroom is also quite large and has his and hers sinks a great bath and a seperate freestanding shower.
The kitchen/dining/lounge are is grand, stainless steel fridge, oven and microwave and a nice island where the cooktop is with a seating area/breakfast bar. Plenty of room in the pantry and the fridge had more than enough of basic staples to help us enjoy our time. Dining table and lounge furniture are very nice and the big lcd tv is a hit as it swivels into any direction you like. Master bedroom was grand with a huge king bed and nice bedside tables and again a lcd tv in its own cabinet. Bathroom had a huge laydown relaxing bath, 2 sinks and a huge freestanding shower with 2 nozzles, 1 fixed and 1 moves.
The lanai/balcony was also great when you push back the lovely sliding wood/glass doors back into the wall and open up the nice seating area on lanai.
The pool and gym area are nice to spend some time at, with easy access to a bay beach where you can swim and snorkel and if you're lucky may even see some turtles.
Must mention a new bar/eatery called the Lava Lava beach club on the beach just past the Marriott, great place for a drink watching the sunset and great meals and staff.
Overall another wonderfull and relaxing time had at kolea and Waikoloa and we shall return 1 day. -

Kolea is the premier property within Waikoloa. This 2-bedroom condominium is excellent for 2 couples. The double master suites provide separation with plenty of comfort. The second master has a queen bed, a king bed would be nicer. The unit is well equipped. The rental agent provided excellent service. We had a small glitch in the aC and the problem was resolved within an hour! The location is wonderful - easy walking distance to both the King's and Queen's Markets, easy walk to the pool and to the beach. The shoreline walk is best in shoes, not sandals as you go over rocks as well as sand. Also nearby is the King's trail and a large petroglyph area. Fascinating! The sea turtles were nesting while we were there.

Beach and pool area are fine but the best beaches are up and down the coast
Good running and walking trails but running trails are not long (i.e., under 5k)
Yoga (very good instructors)on the beach each morning
Bike rentals close
Long drive for adventure activities (Volcano etc)
Good hike 30 minutes up the coast
Unbelievable beaches up and down the coast - we explored a new one each day

Very spacious for two couples. The lanai was always there to enjoy. We ate most of our meals there. We won the coin toss and got the king size bed. Also very comfortable.
We asked for a late check out and were accommodated. We were very appreciative as this gave us a full day holiday.
One observation. We arrived late and it was not well lit so it was difficult to find our Unit. A minor inconvenience.

A great family vacation rental. The home was clean and had a great kitchen and patio with BBQ. Two minute walk to the pool. A great children's pool. The kids loved the waterfall. Great pool area - clean bathrooms and shower to rinse off. Five miute walk to the beach from pool area. Great beach - saw turtles while snorkeling.
A short walk to to the King's shops and restaurants. Kids had a good time walking over for ice cream.
Can't wait to go back!
