Bayarea, CAConvenient
Left on 04/30/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The condo was bright, convenient, and close to A-bay and shops. Great location for families with small kids. We visited the dolphins at the Hilton and turtles at A-bay. The loft bedroom with the twin beds was a hit with our kids. Too bad this condo didn't come with any golf discounts being so close to the courses.

Plainville,MassachusettsRelaxing, convenience to many stores and attractions!!
Left on 12/10/2009 for a stay in November 2009
Recently stayed at the Penthouse Villa at Waikoloa Beach Resort. The service of Sandy Vacations was more than satisfactory, they were very informative and quick to respond back to any questions I had. With the time zone difference here on the East Coast the number of ways to contact Sandy Vacations was great, either phone, email or via website made planing our trip convenient and easy!!
The Penthouse Villa was very spacious plenty of room where none of us felt like we were crowding the other (5 of us stayed) the fact of 2 full baths ment getting ready for the day took less time and even better than that was the fact of having a washer/dryer right there was awesome, no having to go and sit at a laundry mat or bringing home dirty laundry! The home also had just about everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay! There are many shops within walking distance the Kings Shops or the Queens Market Place across the street, A-Bay is within walking distance also if you wanted to spend the day at the beach or watch the fantastic sunsets at night. There is just so much to see and do just in the area, let alone the many sites and attractions within a short drive. Whichever beach you go to whether it be A-bay, Hapuna Beach, 69 beach or any of the other beaches on the Island each one is different and beautiful from the water to the sand! Having a pool and hot tub on property was a plus! We used the grilling area several time during our stay, nothing like a good steak or fish cooked on the grill after a day at the beach!I really can't think of anything I didn't like about our stay other than the fact that it went by way to fast!! I'm sure I have left out many things here but I can asure you that there are no regrets our stay was Fantastic!! Not to mention that everyday was filled with sunshine!! Also the Kona Inter. Airport is a mear 20 minute drive or so from Waikoloa! -

OregonNice place, a few problems.
Left on 10/16/2009 for a stay in September 2009
The location of this condo is great, especially if you like shopping and golfing. The beach is really close and the pool is a great place to hang out. The condo is in great condition and was clean when we arrived.
The freezer was completly defrosted and it never ended working while we were there. It would cool down and then every two hours the fan would make a loud noise and that would last for about thirty minutes. This happened day or night. We contacted the rental company and they sent someone, but it still never worked. Told the rental company the issue was still happening and never received a response. 200 dollars of food from Costco thrown away.
If you would like to stay in a convenient place, but don't need service from a rental company that is off island then it's not too bad. Need to be a heavy sleeper though.Response from Sandy Vacations LLC - 12/02/2009

Aloha Matt, I'm glad you enjoyed the perfect location of our Penthouse Villa and found it to be kept in excellent condition and clean by our local island team!
We're sorry you had experienced trouble with the freezer during your stay. As you noted we did send our service man to repair the freezer immediately. It appears though we didn't receive a message from you stating that it still wasn't working or we certainly would have responded as we did when we received your message requesting information on a future trip! After receiving this feedback, we've sent the repairman back out to have another look and the issue has been fully resolved with no further problems and the fan is no longer making the loud noise! Left on 05/22/2009 for a stay in April 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was perfect for three women that wanted a sunny, relaxing vacation. We each had the privacy of our own bedrooms (and sinks), yet, had great shared space - livingroom, diningroom, lanai and kitchen. It was perfect! Spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The place is even nicer than in the pictures! Well located, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, market and beach. Coming from a cooler climate, we just had to figure out the workings of an air conditioner and then we were on our way... I would definitely return and highly recommend this place to friends and family.

CaliforniaGreat Condo!
Left on 05/08/2009 for a stay in May 2008
We spent weeks hunting for a place that would suit the needs of a party of 4 for 18 days. This would be our second time to the Big Island, and knew roughly where we wanted to be, the Kohala Coast. We knew we had to be close to some of the greatest beaches this island has to offer.
We found several places in Waikoloa Village and Waikoloa Beach within our budget. Knowing that we would all be on our own schedules, and wanted to keep driving to a minimum, we couldn't turn this place down. It was the right price and perfect location.
We arrived late afternoon, and we were blown away! The photos don't do it justice. Huge bedrooms and bathrooms, lots of towels, bathing products, AMAZING lanai overlooking a gorgeous golf course (we ate dinner outside every night) and a FULLY furnished kitchen. The condo was spotless and all of the furniture looked brand new.
It was the ideal solution for us. People were able to come and go (a keypad entry!), cook with everyone in the kitchen, grill (down by the pool) and unlimited loads of laundry. There were so many great features, that leaving the condo during the day was almost hard to do.
The beach within walking distance to the condo is Anaeho'omalu Bay. Maybe not the best place to swim/snorkel, but great for kayaking and sunsets. But all of the best beaches on the island are within 5-20 minutes away by car. Two grocery stores are fairly close by (without having to go all the way into Kailua-Kona), so if you forget an ingredient for dinner, its just a short trip away. The Kings and Queens shops are literally a city block away. This is the place for upscale shopping on the island—with great dining options as well.
The location couldn't be better if you want to be within 5-30 minutes away from the best things that the Kohala Coast has to offer.
This is the ONLY place we will stay on the Big Island.

Calgary, Alberta, Canadagreat rental experience
Left on 05/07/2009 for a stay in January 2006
We've been to Hawaii six times over the past nine or ten years and have stayed on each of its main islands at least once. As such, we have booked our various accommodations via large property management companies as well as privately held owner-advertized rentals. We visited the Big Island in 2006 (with our 3 kids & a set of grandparents) and, at the recommendation of a co-worker, stayed at Sandy's Penthouse Villa at Waikoloa. Without a doubt, the best overall rental experience we've had has been with our booking through Sandy's Vacation Rentals. The property was everything it was advertized to be. It was spacious and clean, meticulously decorated and furnished, and very reasonably priced. We plan to vacation again on the Big Island soon and will definitely make every effort to book the unit again.

Left on 05/07/2009 for a stay in July 2007
We really enjoyed the extra space offered here, vs. staying in a hotel. We all had our own rooms! The flexibility of using the beautiful kitchen was wonderful We stocked up at Costco and the local grocery store and it saved us a bundle. We found exploring all of the island from this "home base" was very convenient. We have stayed here twice and wish we could return annually! Great memories.

Left on 04/24/2009 for a stay in April 2007
We have been to Waikaloa a number of times but never had as nice
accomodations! We took two teenagers with us, and still had plenty of
room in the condo! The condo was very well supplied, especially the
kitchen. The location was perfect with a nice view of the golf course,
and a short walk to everything.
It was very well appointed, clean and comfortable.
Could not have asked for a nice stay, or a more memorable vacation.

Sacramento, cAPerfect for a young family on the Big Island
Left on 04/24/2009 for a stay in June 2005
Loved the location, would return to this complex in a heartbeat. This particular unit was very nice and upscale yet the setup was not ideal for a mixed group of friends and family. Would be much better for a conventional family of parents and younger children (who don't sleep!). The metal/wood spiral staircase leading to loft, while picturesque, did not make one feel very secure, kind of scary, really. The loft bedroom had little privacy and was not conducive to sleep at all (no way to darken from the light or baffle noise from downstairs) and no storage for clothing. A couple of chests of drawers or clothesrack would have been nice. The coffee maker with grinder is too noisy for late sleepers if early riser wants to make coffee. Maybe a separate grinder that one could use at night to prepare coffee for morning? So your marketing should point out that this unit is better for a group of close family members with younger children rather than a mixed group with individual needs. The development itself is lovely and graciously well-tended. The infinity pool is quite nice and even the small gym was nicely outfitted for workouts.
