When we booked 10D at Kolea, I was a bit skeptical. It seemed too beautiful and too good to be true. I looked for reviews but there were none. I have to share with my fellow travelers that this Hawaiian vacation was without equal and the location at Kolea 10D had much to do with it. The chefs kitchen with Viking appliances and the huge sub-zero refrigerator saved us tons of money. We went to Costco in Kona the day after we got there, shopped for all the great heat and serve food available at Costco as well as for some ribeye steaks and besides the Luau, we never ate dinner out. As far as Kolea 10D, it is simply the best location in Kolea. The club house with pool, hot-tub, and great workout room are right in front of the lanai patio and the beach is just past that club house. Compared to the chaos at the Marriott pool, the Kolea pool was so relaxing and quiet, this vacation provided us with the everything we sought, including much needed relaxation. We highly recommend renting this specific unit.
