San Jose, Ca, USAGreat Value and Location
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This property is located in the upscale Wailea area and within close driving distance to a variety of beaches, Kihei, and Wailea. The property itself was spacious and the Lanai was fantastic; large, well furnished, with a nice view of the water. The interior however was in need of some care. Kitchen cupboards were dated and mis-aligned, window blinds were dated and in need of repair (the kitchen blinds came down on my wife), sliding window doors and screens were difficult to open/close - in fact the screen came off it's tracks. Also carpet in a warm area like Hawaii is sub-optimal - at least for us. That said, the condo was well stocked with kitchen and beach supplies, was spacious, and well priced.
One note on the booking I'd like to make. Read your contract closely! The contract states deposit with payment in full due within 30 days. It's up to you to remember to send in your check. So long as you do that you're good. Don't expect an email or any contact from the agent. I fortunately checked with the agent a couple weeks before arriving to assure my visit would go smoothly and she at that time reminded me of the contract (which I mistakenly had not read completely). I travel at least 6-8 times a year and have never seen a contract like this and furthermore, have never had a situation where the booking company didn't get in touch with me for a payment due. Had I not checked in I'm guessing I wouldn't have had a place to stay. I was a bit shocked by the lack of attention paid by the agency. But, as I said, in their defense, the contract was clear. Just be sure to follow the rules! -

Left on 05/23/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We absolutely loved staying here! What a pleasure to open the curtains every morning to that stupendous, panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees from the spacious lanai. It was an extremely quiet, restful place to vacation. The only sounds were from the birds and the sprinklers. It was very well equipped -- everything from beach umbrellas and chairs, to boogie boards and coolers. The kitchen was modern and contained everything we needed. I loved having the water/ice dispenser on the frig. Some of the decor is a bit dated but that didn't bother us in the least. The condo was so spacious and comfortable for the 2 of us. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. We had 2 requests of the management company and they were attended to within the day.

The unit had everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. There were chairs, umbrellas, towels, body boards, coolers to use for the beach. The view from the lanai was amazing. We would definitely rent this unit again on our next stay in Wailea.

Our family (son & d-i-l) and daughter, grandaughter & s-i-l) stayed in 1101 and 1005. had a great time and the property was terrific. A couple of minor maintenance issues were handles quickly and effetively. We would recommend the property to anyone else and would gladly go back again ourselves.

Calgary, Alberta, CanadaFabulous Lanai
Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We stayed in this unit for 8 days in February. We would rent it again. Minor complaints such as burned out light bulbs but nothing major. It's probably time to paint and get new sheets. Particularly enjoyed the view from the lanai and living room. The very large L-shaped lanai had a beautiful panoramic view. A major asset to this unit is having your own private propane BBQ on the lanai. It was great to have access to beach equipment and coolers.

Palms #1005 is a nice condo with a good layout and a great lanai with an ocean view. Overall, the unit is decently furnished and it was clean when we arrived. However, it could use a little attention and updating. A new bed would be at the top of my list of suggestions. Wireless internet would be nice. We like the location of The Palms very much - at the north end of Wailea with easy access to Wailea and Makena as well as Kihei. The unit's location in the complex was good for us (despite the little bit of walk and stairs from the parking space), in a quiet section relatively far from the main entrance and pool. In summary, this unit is a decent value, but I would not call it "luxurious". If there was some improvement/updating in the furnishings and appliances, this unit would be high on my list when returning to Maui.

This unit was very nice. I would suggest getting rid of the carpet and put tile in. The wall decorations are a bit dated. The patio and views were very nice! Bed very comfortable!

We had a wonderful time at this condo in Wailea. The property manager was very organized and provided instructions and assistance via email and in writing at the condo location. The condo itself was pleasant, the lanai was fantastic with a good view, an excellent grill. It made for one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in years. I highly recommend it.

Property managers were great, they dealt with a few broken items immediately. The suite does need a few upgrades, not in bad shape, just wear and tear.
The view from this suite a great, and the wrap round deck , all on one floor was nice.
We would stay there again.Response from Rentals Maui - 01/05/2011

Excellent Location and views! Apartment needs some minor maintenance. One of the screen doors will not stay on the rails. Overall a good experience. Property Managers are GREAT to work with and helped us get in quickly and extend our stay. We've dealt with them in the past and they have always been friendly and professional. It's hard not to enjoy your stay on Maui!

Left on 03/16/2009 for a stay in March 2009
This is a choice location with an astounding view. Deck furnature was ample as were inside furnature and appliances. The king-size bed was the best we have had in any hotel. When the bedroom TV had no sound we were given a new one-great service. The place could use some minor maintenace: had to clean and fix barbeque and some lights are either burnt out or not working, and one or two stove elements aren't working. If we come to Maui next winter we would like to book the same condo again.
