Set on the outskirts of Wanaka township our self contained cottage offers private rental accommodation surrounded by stunning snow capped mountain ranges and views of Lake Wanaka and Mt Aspiring – the highest peak in Aspiring National Park.
The Cottage is tucked into a young Walnut grove and has the feel of being very independent from the main house, but enjoys shared facilities such as a large organic vege garden.

Sometimes in your travels you come across a place that has the X factor and you know you want to return to it. There's an old villa we stayed at at Lake Garda in Italy, an amazing hotel on the amalfi Coast and now there's The Cottage at Golden Barn Hill in Wanaka!
We stayed there recently and loved it. The cottage is lovely, the gardens gorgeous and the views superb. It was so peaceful, quiet and healing. The owners are lovely. The BBQ looking out onto the rambling gardens great. And it is close enough to walk into town. Amazing! -

A comfortable oasis with a pretty outlook and a hospitable host in great natural surroundings. Booking was effortless, instructions provided detailed and helpful, checking in was a breeze, the quality of the accommodation delighted and the host was warm and approachable. A+++ in every respect.

Loved being on acreage , with the fruit , veg and chickens. Wanaka is a stunning place to visit. Hubby loves the car museum. But the walks and views are what I find refreshing and rejuvenating. We appreciate having the facilities to be self catering, and the cottage had all we needed there. We enjoyed our stay. The only negative were the pillows which I'm sure

Lovely cottage with everything you could ask for. Very friendly landlords. Loved the veggie garden. Very childfriendly. Lovely owners. Privacy.
Bit too far to walk into "town" for our little kids (3&5) but easily doable with bikes. Very close to lake.
