'Sand Dollar' is a gem at Marley Beach, Bermuda. Located on the hillside overlooking Marley Beach and a long stretch of shoreline, the views will take your breath away, and Marley Beach is a short walk down a path and some steps away!! The bus stop is at the bottom of the drive, and there are several restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance.

About Our Location: Sand Dollar is at Marley Beach in Warwick. Many readers may be aware of the former hotel called Marley Beach Cottages -- Sand Dollar was formerly a part of that hotel, although it has been substantially upgraded since the property was a hotel.
Steps away from a beautiful and private beach, central to just about everything anyone could wish to do in Bermuda with convenient bus stops at the bottom of the driveway, restaurants within walking distance, golf, tennis, sightseeing and shopping only minutes away..... This is a rare gem in Bermuda for the visitor who doesn't want the large hotel stay and prefers to get out and do their own exploring and discovery based in one of the most romantic, private and spectacular settings in Bermuda!
Sunrises, Sunsets and Whales: Sand Dollar faces south, and no matter the time of year or weather, the sunrises and sunsets are nothing short of spectacular!
Whale watching is wondrous in the springtime, with frequent sightings early in the mornings and early evenings during March, April, and sometimes into May. The whales are often within half a mile of the beach as they come in during the night to protect their young. You don't need binoculars to watch them frolicking, breeching and just cavorting in Bermuda's tranquil and protected waters.
During the summer months, the snorkeling on private Marley Beach is magical. You can even see scores of large parrot fish feeding on the reefs close in to the shore with your naked eye right from the terrace overlooking the beach

IF YOU HAVE MORE PEOPLE: We also have a studio apartment on the property. It's called Sand Pebble Studio. This is a large studio with kitchen, full bath, large bed/sitting room, patio etc. You can view this unit on this website.
you might like to consider also renting the studio if you have a larger party. It is suitable for two and can be set up with king bed or twins.
The studio rents at $2,230 per week in the 2012 summer months, and $1,500 per week in the winter months.

There are no additional taxes or gratuities. Maid service is only on changeover day (usually Saturday or Sunday) Laundry facilities are available, and your stay is self-catering.
DEPOSIT AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF RENTAL:
We require a 20% deposit within seven days of making the reservation. Full prepayment is required 45 days prior to arrival. If the reservation is canceled outside of the 30-day penalty period, your deposit is returned less a $350 handling fee. If the reservation is canceled within 30 days of arrival, the prepayment is forfeit. We are firm in this policy and recommend that renters consider purchasing trip insurance if there is ANY possibility they may have to cancel the reservation within 30 days of arrival.
ARRIVALS ARE PREFERRED ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY BUT WELCOME ALL INQUIRIES.

We went as two couples and spent a week at Sand Dollar from april 20, 2013 to april 27, 2013. Steve’s welcome letter was extremely helpful. We followed his advice on asking the cab driver to stop at the market for groceries on our way from the airport to Sand Dollar. We were met at Sand Dollar by the manager. Gordon provided gave us a tour of the cottage and provided us with information on getting around the island. We found Sand Dollar to be extremely clean with all the necessities. There was even a cell phone for our use for local calls. Each day we would go and visit different parts of Bermuda, but we looked forward to coming back to Sand Dollar to relax on the patio with a fabulous view of the ocean and enjoy a barbeque. Having our own beach was another bonus. Sadly, we had to leave after a week and return home to reality. Hats off to Steve and Gordon for a wonderful vacation and lasting memories. We look forward to returning to Sand Dollar and the beautiful island of Bermuda.

The house was very comfortable with lots of linens, towels and kitchen utensils. The view from the living room and master bedroom are incredible and you can hear the water from the house. There is a nice, but small, backyard and terrace (with a table and BBQ) to eat or just sit and relax. The living room has comfy furniture and a huge TV with cable.
Young children have to be supervised in the backyard as there are steps, a ledge and a steep slope. The path to the beach is fairly easy but the steps at the end of the path can be dangerous for small children so I carried my daughter for that part. No big deal.
The private beach is very nice with lots of places to explore.

Our stay at Sand Dollar (5 nights) was wonderful. We were returning after several previous stays, the last 10 years ago. The accommodations have been refurbished and were excellent, with one of the most comfortable king sized beds I've ever slept in, not to mention waking up to a panoramic view of the magnificent ocean and beachfront. The air conditioning, dishwasher, large screen TV, laundry facilities, were all great. Our two daughters slept comfortably in the queen and twin beds in the spacious second room.
What really made the stay was, of course, the location - a gorgeous private cove on the beautiful South Shore. As mentioned in the other reviews, the cottage is just up a small hill from the main road, where there are bus stops for the frequent, clean buses full of friendly Bermudians and lucky tourists. The buses will take you into Hamilton or wherever you want to go on the island, and taxis are also easy to arrange direct to the door of the cottage. The Swizzle Inn is a pleasant restaurant just a short walk up the road, and a short ride away are fancier restaurants at the Elbow Beach resort or the Southampton Princess (including the famous and historic Waterlot Inn). A grocery store is also just up the road.
I also have to mention Steve, the owner, who really went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable, from the complimentary local cell phone to giving us a ride to the grocery store and post office (for bus passes) when we first arrived. But then perhaps we shouldn't have been surprised, considering how friendly we've always found Bermudians.
Looking forward to our next visit. -

Absolutely fabulous stay at Marley Beach in the Sand Dollar cottage. First, Steve is a great man - booking the stay was simple and Steve was extremely helpful with all of my questions. Second...the 'cottage' far exceeded our expectations. We have a family of 5 including 3 kids - ages 20, 19, and 16. There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was great and we were able to eat breakfast and several dinners at the cottage. The cottage is quite close to many of the fabulous south beaches. The snorkeling and swimming at Marley Beach was amazing and quite private! The kids had a blast snorkeling all over Bermuda. It was great to arrive home in the afternoons and be able to take a dip in the water. The pictures do not do justice of the view from the outside deck...Amazing - my friends could not believe that the pictures I took from the back patio and the master bedroom were copied from the internet...it took some convincing for them to believe that we were taking them from the cottage. The close proximity to the bus stop was a big help in cutting down on the cost of cabs. I can truely not say enough about how great this cottage was - the proximity to everything, the helpfulness of Steve, the space we had, the views, the beach...I cannot wait to go back. Lastly, Steve is close by if you need him but definitely not intrusive. He provided us with a phone to us during our stay - quite a gracious host. Loved this place!

This place is perfection in a vacation to Bermuda. Infinite views of the South Shore, private pink sand beach, walks in the Southlands Park next door and within 15 minutes walk access to the entire South Shore Beaches from Warwick Long Bay to Horseshoe and the Fairmont Beach Club. Steve, the owner is great. Friendly, knowledgeable about Bermuda and available if you have a question. Two bedrooms and two baths make this place great for families and friends.

You will not be disappointed staying at this incredible cottage. We had the most spectacular time. The views are breath-taking and who can ever complain about a private beach!! The cottage has every amenities you would need. Steve was wonderful explaining everything to us and left us with a phone for our use. Calling for a taxi is very simple and they are very punctual. We took the bus many times to the local grocery store with no difficulties. The beauty of this cottage is also location as the bus stops are right at the end of the driveway. Horseshoe bay is only a few stops away...but honestly after going there..we left early and went back to our piece of heaven beach to enjoy the serenity of it all. The Swizzle Inn is a short walk from the cottage and has some nightly entertainment and great drinks.
I will definitely return to this beautiful Beach Front cottage!! You will not be disappointed. The house was very clean, plenty of sheets, towels, and a washer and dryer making the return home much easier.
