Additional Location Information
Location, Location, Location. Union Station in Washington DC is an architectural monument one that many travelers are surprised to find. While it is a true train station with many travelers passing through while traveling along the east coast, it is an understatement to call it a train station. The privately owned building houses many stores, restaurants, and tourist attractions making it more like a mall and transportation hybrid. It also houses the local Metrorail system that thousands of local travelers use daily to get around the city. The Thurgood Marshal Federal Building and The Security and Exchange Commission are right next door with the "Suite Up On The Hill" a few steps further along in the nice quiet neighborhood called Capitol Hill. You have a coffee shop right on the corner or use the coffee pot right in the "Suite". Restaurants row along Massachusetts Avenue has cuisines from around the world Toscani's boast Italian right on the corner, but you also have a fully stocked kitchen to cook your own meals. While the location is indeed the best, what really separates "Suite Up On The Hill" from all the other choices is Owner/Mgr Ingrid who is always available to make sure you enjoy your stay.

Seattle, WAPerfect location for our DC vacation
Left on 04/23/2013 for a stay in April 2013
When booking online, I hope to have a safe place to call home during my stay and professional customer service should need arise. This place is a win win. Safe, comfortable, well furnished (tons of kitchen items) and a walking distance from anything on "The Hill". Not to mention, a great Italian Restaurant (that delivers) and a coffee shop just feet from your door.
My only wish for the unit is that one nightstand be sacrificed for a queen bed. the double is a little cozy for 2.
Our son loved the pull out bed w/ the sofa. and enjoyed visiting with the neighbors who walked by.
I can't say enough good things about this place. I hope we are able to return to DC and will definitely check on this unit's availability first (book early, it's a popular place to stay) -

This was a great location for us to see all the monuments. We rented bikes on the west side of Union Station (2 block walk from the apt) to photograph all the monuments. It was a long day but we even cycled to arlington & Georgetown - loved it. Ingrid gave us all the info we needed for a great stay. Well maintained & stocked apt. Great coffee across the street.

The " Suite Up on the Hill "was a wonderfully convenient home from from home in historic Capitol Hill for my family to get out and see all the sites that Washington had to offer and was also a great place to cool off when it got too hot!
Our hosts [ Ingrid and Deon] could not have been more helpful.
We only wished we stayed longer!
A perfect setting. -

Canberra, AustraliaPerfect base for a DC holiday
Left on 05/17/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This unit was the perfect base for my DC holiday. It was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and I felt safe - which as a solo female traveller is an important factor.
I flew in to DC very late at night, and Ingrid kindly met me at the unit to show me around. What amazing service!
Being so close to the Union Station Metro was also a real selling point for me, and it allowed me easier access to the wonderful city.
Highly recommended! -

My daughter, my sister, and I stayed at "Suite up on the Hill". Ingrid met us there and explained the area and told us to call if we had any questions. We never needed to call everything was right there. We loved this nicely decorated apartment with sunlight streaming in the window. The convenience of having a corner grocery, coffee shop, and restaurant on the same block just made things easy. My daughter and I slept in the day bed with trundle and watched some tv after walking to the National Mall visiting the many museums specially the air and Space Museum. I have a little scientist in the making. We 3 women felt very safe walking in the late evening and the corner store came in really handy for picking up basic groceries. We enjoyed the coffee at the coffee shop though the apartment also has a coffee pot. The apartment had all of the utensils needed to feel right at home and comfortable . I would certainly recommend this place to all my friends and family.

CHILEGreat vacation family of four
Left on 11/30/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My family of 4 were very happy in this partment. We were indeed a little concern of the review about the bedroom size, but it turned out to be very confy for my husband and I. The kids stay in the living room in a very comfortable large size day bed. I thought this was more comfortable than the sofa bed they slept in NY city apartment. The day bed was big enought for our 2 teens girls since the trundle comes out. The mattresses of the day bed were superb.
Location was excellent. We walked everywhere with no need of a car. We took the metro a few times when we were very tired and then just walk 1 block to the "Suite". Ingrid checked on us to make sure we were happy. By the way there are a few steps down to the apartment. It is a basement above level with its front and back entrance. Huge windows, tons of light. We never heard the guests in the unit above us. We met the family of 6 from australia one day when both families were heading to sigthseeing the city.. I would definetly recommend this apartment to any family (great price for location), couples and seniors.

This suite is really well located - just a block away from Union station, 1/2 a block away from a small bodega and cute restaurant. Walking distance to the library of congress, capitol building, and with a bike rental kiosk close, it was really convenient for us to get around the city.
The apartment itself is on the basement level of the building. Noise was a problem when the upstairs renters arrived - their floor is poorly insulated, but a call to Ingrid and they kept the noise level down. The bed in the bedroom is also a double bed only, not a queen - which was a bit on the small side. Otherwise well furnished. The day bed in the living room is cosy. We didn't cook except for easy breakfasts, but the kitchen looked well stocked with kitchen items.Response from Ingrid Bennett - 10/14/2011

We are very sorry about the noise. Unfortunately our guests in "Suite 2"admitted they were moving around their huge baby stroller as well as their baby mobile crib. Once I called them I thought that this situation was handled to your satisfaction. If it wasn't I would had liked that you had called me again.
I appreciate your review and I'm very glad that you enjoyed your stay at "Suite up on the Hill"
Sincerely

LexingtonWonderful week in DC
Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My wife and I were in town for several business meetings and we were tired of staying in hotels. One of our friends suggested Vrbo and we then found Suite on the Hill. I don't know how one could find a better location. This is a very short walk from just about everywhere you would want or need to go if you are in town for Hill business or for tourism. The apartment was extremely clean and Ingrid is very nice and accommodating and called us a couple times to make sure our stay was going well and to see if we needed anything. Ebeneezers (across the street) is a great place to have coffee and you must try to breakfast tacos. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great place to stay right in the middle of DC!

Ventura CaA Perfect Location for a DC Vacation
Left on 08/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My family and I stayed at the "Suite" for 8 nights. It was an unbelievably great experience. This rental is perfect for a family of four and is way better than a hotel in my opinion. It has a location that cannot be beat as it is really close to Union Station. The service was second to none as Ingrid wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for our stay. The Metro is perfect for getting around and the Capitol is within walking distance. There are a plethora of restaurants and shops close by. The neighborhood is very safe and it is fun to walk around and see the row houses. Ingrid really took care of us as we came in very late and she met us and made sure we felt at home. The aC worked well thank goodness as it was warm during our stay. The kitchen is great to cook and have a quick breakfast before the start of your day. This really is a perfect home base when vacationing in DC with your family.

Our stay, myself and two teenagers (18/19), was so cool. With Union Station so close the two boys went on their own exploring and made their own schedule. They had the bedroom. I had the comfy sofa bed and easy early access to the kitchen and bath. Any time of day I felt comfortable going out by myself and even to local grocery store at night. I was a busy sight-seer and had fun!

The Suite was very quaint, cozy, and within walking distance to great morning coffee and most of all the metro/union station. Mrs. Bennett was very accommodating with our arrival and detarture times and it made for a wonderful stay here. Definitely a great place to have morning and evening meals with a small family (save money and get family talk time in) and run the family ragged during the day!
Thank you! -

Left on 04/07/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Although I have stay in other vrbo locations, this one proved to be the most satisfying. The Bennetts were easy and fair in their business. Ingrid genuinely seemed concerned that we enjoy our stay and was always a phone call away.
And the location near Union Station (in DC) was perfect. I felt I was part of the community as the worker bees rushed past every day.
