Description from the owner
Villa Terra Nova is a private 2-bedroom, 2-bath single family home perched on a hill crest on Water Island (in world-famous St. Thomas harbor). The outdoor deck wraps around three sides of the villa, providing spectacular views of the Carribean Sea. The higher elevation of this villa means that exhilarating trade wind breezes enhance your experience. Your own golf cart is included as part of the villa rental, to get you around the 2.5-mile island for exploring and beachgoing. Villa Terra Nova has been a highly successful family vacation rental villa for over 12 years. We have just begun our lsting on TripAdvisor but we have many happy clients...Read more

This was our 4th visit to Villa Terra Nova and we were once again charmed by the view and the fact we feel right at home. Vtn is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need and then some. We love the video and book library and satellite tv. But truly the view is the best and the breeze that blows through the house keeps it the perfect temperature for eating, living and sleeping. We will be back again and again!

What a wonderful introduction to Water Island. Amazing wrap-around porch, where we spent the majority of our time, reading and connecting with each other. One of the best equipped kitchens we've seen in the Usvi and BVI.

Panama City, FLRelaxation in Caribbean Paradise!
Left on 10/16/2012 for a stay in March 2011
My husband and I have visited Villa Terra Nova (VTN) for the past four years and each visit has been as wonderful as the first. Vtn sits near the top of Water Island on the windward side of the island, so beautiful breezes blow constantly, keeping the villa cool. There are two open porches to sunbathe or lie in the shade in a hammock. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, and there is satellite TV and wi-fi for those who want or need it. The landscaping and views are spectacular, and it is a 5-minute golfcart ride to Honeymoon Beach, where locals sometimes string a bedsheet up between the palms and show a movie at night in a unique Caribbean drive-in-movie experience! There is also a local bar that often has live music, and a great lunch vendor named Heidi most days. The snorkeling is amazing, as is just taking a nap under one of the palms there. St. Thomas is a 10-minute ferry ride across the harbor to Crown Bay (conch-fritters at Tickles is a must). Taxis are plentiful to downtown, where shopping abounds along with great eateries and attractions. But the uniqueness of VTN is that when you are tired and want to rest, you can go "home" to your own private piece of paradise at the top of Water Island and pretend you're a local. The kitchen is well-appointed with everything you need to make fabulous meals. The Gourmet Gallery has a good selection of staples and specialty items, and the Pueblo grocery is a mere two blocks from Crown Bay. Visitors must provision wisely, however, as there are no stores or markets once you are actually on Water Island. The British Virgin Islands are a great day or weekend trip, and there are amazing sailing, fishing, diving and boating outings available. The locals are friendly, there is no crime that we have ever noticed on Water Island, and the owner and property managers of VTN are extremely capable and responsive. We cannot recommend VTN highly enough.

The view from Villa Terra Nova is spectacular! My husband and I have stayed at this home numerous times. Each time is better than the time before. It's easy-just fly into St. Thomas; take a short taxi ride to Crown Bay Marina; pick up a few groceries at the Gourmet Gallery; have a Bushwacker (best island drink) at Tickle's Restaurant & Bar; then hop on the Water Island Ferry (located right outside of Tickle's); and within minutes you're on Water Island. The property manager will meet you, and the next thing you know you'll be living the dream. The terrace is where you'll want to spend most of your time soaking up the gorgeous view. Inside, the owners have thought of everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped and a fun place to cook. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so it is ideal for two couples to share but have privacy, or it's perfect for a romantic getaway. You will feel right at home in Villa Terra Nova's comfortable and casual Caribbean atmosphere.
When you feel like going for a swim at Honeymoon Beach, just hop in the golf cart provided with the villa. Heidi's dinners on the beach are a real treat, and if you're lucky enough to be there on movie night, don't pass it up. Where else can you go to a drive-in movie on the beach in a golf cart?
It's fun to spend a day shopping or having lunch in St. Thomas by taking the ferry back to Crown Bay and catching a taxi. One tip: You might want to check the cruise ship schedule and go into St. Thomas when there aren't many ships because it can get very crowded.
You won't be sorry you chose this vacation home, and I'll bet you'll be planning your next trip before you leave. It's the most unique and relaxing vacation you'll ever have. The pictures are beautiful, but being there is far better.
