If your idea of a memorable holiday is relaxing on the most romantic lake in England then look no further, the Boathouse at Knotts End has it all: stunning scenery, 10 acres of woodland and fields and 300 feet of private lake frontage provide guests with seclus...ion and a real sense of getting away from it all. Knotts End is an ideal honeymoon hideaway and the perfect escape for two at any time of the year.

Should guests tire of the magnificent views, there is plenty to do: take out Knotts End's row boat, cool off with a dip in the lake, or explore the many walking opportunities just outside the front door. Numerous sailing clubs provide water sports activities and the many villages close by offer shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs.

The Boathouse offers spaciously designed open-plan accommodation furnished to an extremely high standard with Chinese and Indonesian antiques and handmade silks.

The lounge features big lime-washed beams, a wood burning stove and electric radiators to keep guests warm in winter, while Velux windows provide cooling breezes in the summer, TV and DVD player, idock/CD player, games and guide books. (please note there is no TV reception at the property, however you are welcome to bring your own DVD's)

The kitchen at Knotts End is perfectly arranged to prepare casual or gourmet meals with a large fridge/freezer, hob, dishwasher, combination microwave/grill and Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary Nespresso coffee capsules. For those who would rather not cook, the Leeming House Hotel restaurant is just a very convenient five minute walk from the Boathouse!

A charming wooden balcony offers the perfect spot to have breakfast in the morning or to enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set over the lake in the evening.

The bedroom boasts a Queen size bed and incredible views of the surrounding fells.

The luxuriously appointed bathroom has a walk-in shower, hand basin, WC and complimentary Aromatherapy Associates, London bathroom products.

Self-catering guests will enjoy dining in several locations, all with exceptional views: indoors at the handmade oak table for two or al fresco on the terrace by the jetty, on the balcony or at the picnic table on the lake front. Teak loungers on the terrace invite guests to soak up the sun's rays and the views over Ullswater.

All electric, bed linen, towels, hair dryer, bathroom products and beach towels provided.

There is no cot as the property is not suitable for children.

Private jetty with private 10 acres of land with exclusive rights to the lake, beach and fishing.

The boathouse is approached down a 1/4 mile single track not suitable for low cars, however if you have a low car or in extreme weather conditions you may leave your car just inside the gate at the top of the track.Read more

  Booking the Boat House was straight forward and easy. We really enjoyed our stay there. It was very well equipped and comfortable. Bonus for me lots of hot water and good heating system! The location was wonderful. The is a superb holiday home only problem for us was the weather.

  Location was fantastic, but they need to update Webpage it show on web site a nice old wood boat,but it has a fiber glass one which was full of water.They tell you to contact if any problems, you cannot get a signal.They is no room to put any food other than chilled food,the log burning fire you could not see the logs burning because the glass must have never been cleaned.The throw over on bed was split their are that many cushions they is no were to put them when you get into bed.For the money we paid where was the wow factor.

  From the moment that you drive down the single track, and it is a track, and you see the boathouse on the side of the water you know that you have arrived at a very special place.
  A wonderfully refurbished property set in an idyllic setting with everything we could have wished for to have a romantic weekend away. There are lots of little touches that just made it one of the most memorable weekends that I've had.

  A unique and secluded hideaway in a wonderful environment.

  We visited the boathouse mid January 2013, with the snow covered hills dominating the landscape, the little boathouse was very inviting.
  The amenities are as you would expect to find in a well run hotel, the fact that there is no tv/3g data or wifi connection does not detract from its appeal we could still make a receive mobile phones calls.
  The log fire was an enjoyable effort,an axe is provided to split wood in the well stocked wood shed.
  The row boat is fun,(life jackets are provided)
  The boathouse is a warm and cosy retreat with relaxing views from the balcony, a must for nature lovers.

  what can i say, it was so so nice i didn't want to leave, cant wait to go again soon, i would recommend it,its romantic and the setting, views as the best.the boat house has everything you need, very clean, modern with a rustic charm about the place, i would love to live there thats how nice it is.

  Lovely place but obviously owned by cheapskates. The little details were missing for a place that cost more than a suite at Malmaison in December. No replacement toilet rolls. Only one coffee a day. Stuff that could have been rectified for 20 quid.

  Went for a winter weekend and were delighted with The Boathouse.
  
  Luxury interior, log fire, balcony that opens directly over the lake and a great view to greet you in the morning. Ideal for a secluded getaway.
  
  The lake water was high when we visited, so couldn't take the boat out. But on the plus side, we got to feed swans directly from the balcony.

  Lovely Romantic setting perfect for our wedding anniversary - waking up to an amazing view of Ullwater.
  
  Accommodation/furnishings of a very high standard - beyond our expectations!
  
  Close to walks (Aira Force) and Steamer for Ullswater.
  
  Would definitely book this again for our anniversary.
