Willow Cottage is located in the grounds of the country house hotel with use of the facilities, this ground floor cottage has stunning views of the lake and shared use of the grounds with private lake frontage.
Watermillock is located on the shores of Ullswater, one of the most popular lakes in the national park. There are numerous villages along the shore line all with a wealth of bars - many serving excellent bar meals, restaurants and shops. The cottage was more than the brochure described! It was ideal for our party which included elderly parents and dogs! The view from the cottage was simply stunning. Although we didn't use the hotel restaurant this time we certainly will on our next visit. Accommodation clean and warm with all equipment of high standard.

I took the family to the Lakes for a long weekend. I booked it at short notice on the internet so was a bit of as risk. The photos don't do the cottage justice. It was lovely - a real home from home and was great to come back to after a day walking on the fells! Included was a 'very' welcome pack which included milk, tea, coffee, sugar & biscuits. A nice touch and very welcome seeing as I'd forgotten to buy milk at Pooley Bridge.
The cottage is well appointed and has everything you need for a short stay break. One criticism is that it's pretty pricey if you're paying full rate.
It's a fantastic spot with stunning views of Ullswater and the surrounding fells. The staff at the hotel who run the cottage were extremely helpful and friendly. All in all a great weekend and we'll definitely be back now we know about it!
