East Berlin, PennsylvaniaNice house...Pictures don't do it justice
Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Monday blahs, just got back from the Sea Star yesterday. We've been going to OBX for over 7 years. Other than our room situation (comment below) this by far is my favorite house we've stayed at so far. Each bedroom having access to the ocean front deck, that led to both the pool and beach was great! So nice not to have to walk thru the entire house with your sandy beach bag and coolers. The pictures on the web do not due it justice. The place is really nice. The main living area was huge and the curved couch was extremely comfortable and was room enough to hold many of us.
If I had to complain about anything it would be the queen bedroom on the 2nd floor. The mattress was hard, uncomfortable and also made loud noices with every movement you made. The room afforded no dresser top space or a mirror big enough to get ready. It's not a good situation because this room shares the bathroom with the bunk bed room...and that room didn't have a mirror at all or counter top space. So my husband and I shared a bathroom with 4 teenage girls (imagine how that went). I wish the bathroom would have been a larger vanity top because there was no stand or anything in there for your things either. I brought the wicker chair out of our bedroom into the bathroom so we at least has somewhere to sit our hair dry and things. The other 3 master bedrooms were incredible...a ton of space that probably could have easily been split into more master bedrooms. The only other down fall was the ice maker was too small - it was only a regular freezer ice maker and did not produce enough ice to even provide for one family much less 4 with many kids.
The walk to the beach was easy. The dune was relatively small, not exhausting to get over. Hardly a beach crowd. Our teenagers liked that there were a few shops they could walk to as well as being close to the pier ice cream parlor and trailer park so they could meet new friends.
I would stay here again but would hope that I'd draw the straw for one of the master rooms.
