Cabin was clean, furnished with everything needed, other cabins around, yet still had privacy - only drawback - hottub was on front deck, charcoal grill (prefer gas grill), parking was somewhat cramped - but everything accessible - no stairs for loading and unloading items. Views were spectacular - clearly the best that we have had in area. Swimming pool available within in a few steps of cabin. Pool was clean - views available even while swimming. Highly recommend this cabin!!!

The cabin was everything as advertised and then some… The view, wow words would put limitations on how spectacular it was!!! We had a fantastic time. You almost had an early phone call this morning, Thursday 4/12 to ask if we could have that extra day??? Hope to return sometime soon..? God Bless,

Your place is beautiful. I have to admit the first time I drove up the mountain, in the rain, I was wishing I had worn Depends about half way up. Mom was terrified and kept telling me the cabin couldn't possibly be all the way on the top of the mountain. Once the fog lifted and the sun came out the view was incredible and worth the drive. The second time up was a piece of cake because we knew we were headed in the right direction. We had a great time and will definitely stay there again if we go back to Tennessee. The handicapped shower and commode made my Mom's life much easier. She couldn't have done if for two weeks without it.

This was our 3rd time staying on "Buckeye Knob". We have stayed in Wears Valley many times over the years and this view is the best. I hiked from Laurel Falls, over Cove Mountain, passed the tower at the crest of Cove Mountain and hiked down on the Wears Valley side. The trail up from Laurel Falls to the tower is 4.0 miles long and 1800' climb from Laurel falls trailhead. The road down is outside of the park. It is rough but easily visible. There are no signs but if you just follow the "main road" at every smaller off road juncture, you will pass within 200 yards of the Buckeye Knob cabins. The road is downhill almost all of the way. The trail to the cabins is very narrow, but the growth is still small enough to see the cabins from the road.. The next time I go, I will bring a weed eater and widen the path so others will find it easier. The pool felt good after the 6.0 mile hike. Bring plenty of water. No cell phone service was present during the entire hike - so take someone with you for safety.

Knoxville, TNAmazing view, perfect spot to see a sunset
Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011
My husband and I stayed in this beautiful cabin last weekend. We got up there just to see a burning orange sunset over the mountain. It was the perfect place to view it. The hot tub was a great place to spend the evenings. We enjoyed how clean and well kept the cabin was. There was plenty of information on hand to plan things to do. We are so thankful for a healing and fun weekend.
