St. Louis, MOUnbelievably Gorgeous!
Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This cabin is huge and beautiful! It is very quiet and secluded in beautiful countryside, only a couple of miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed for several days in July 2012 as part of my sabbatical from work. I took my two teenage boys, my mom, my sister and her husband, and my brother and his girlfriend. We had more than enough room for everyone. The kitchen is quite large and well-appointed. The hot tub is great, especially at night under the stars. The (multiple) decks have large overhangs, so when it rained, we could sit on the deck and just enjoy the sound of the rain.
The property management company was so nice, too! I left my dog in the master bedroom when we went to town, and he chewed up the carpeting in front of the master bedroom door. I was mortified and felt awful about the situation. I called Carolina Mornings and they could not have been nicer to me! They checked, and I had purchased the accidental insurance (thank God!) and the lady emphathized with me, saying she knew of other people whose dogs had separation anxiety and would freak out and do crazy things like my dog had done. The insurance adjuster came out and that was last I heard of it. I couldn't believe it -- I was expecting a large bill!
This cabin is truly beautiful, in a beautiful setting just a few miles from Weaverville, on paved roads. I would advise not arriving in the dark, as it is easier to find in the daylight. This is a secluded spot, away from the hustle of asheville. There are lots of restaurants in the general vicinity -- all very good, especially the Stony Knob (where I saw Billy Graham Jr.!) and the Glass Onion. If you like cooking, the cabin has all the cookware and utensils you need. I also went to Northern Minnesota this summer and paid the exact same price for a very small one-bedroom cabin that was pretty primitive. The Mountain Sky cabin is very nice and I highly recommend it!!! -

We loved our stay at Mountain Sky. I took my two boys, 14 and 10 and my husband for a week to Mounatin Sky. We were so pleased with this property that we didn't want to leave. The house was absolutely beautiful and well-maintatined. We relaxed in the hot tub every evening after long days of hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking and zip lining. This property was only 20 minutes away from all our activities. It sits in the mountains of Weaverville, just off the Blue Ridge Pkway. The house had a huge deck all the way around, with a private balcony off master that provided us with beautiful views of foliage and wildlife. Carolina Mornings was just a phonecall away for any help with planning activities, driving directions, and questions. We will be returning in October for the beautiful leaves and more ziplining at Navitat.

Atlanta, GAVery Enjoyable!!

The cabin was just perfect for our needs--well appointed, beautifully situated, quiet, relaxing. Met our "vision" for the vacation ideally. My only suggestion for improvement would be that the driveway to the cabin be better marked. We drove past the correct gravel driveway several times and only when we stopped to ask someone did we learn which driveway to take to get to it. But everything else was terrific and we were 100% satisfied with the cabin.

We came across Carolina Mornings while looking for a place to go for spring break in the Asheville area. There was a lot to like about all of their properties, so after much deliberation and two phone calls we chose Mountain Sky.
Photos and an amenities list are usually a good representation but it can still be an adventure. We've been vacationing in cabins for several years and I have lots of stories. Mountain Sky is at the top of my list for several reasons. The property is even nicer than it appears in pictures - inside and out; along with being spacious, very clean and comfortable it just felt like home. Many rooms, including the master suite offered sliding doors that opened onto a private deck with a view.
The high-end appliances were in great working order in the fabulous kitchen with tile floors and gorgeous counter tops, Calphalon cookware, well stocked cabinets, a laundry room and half bath just inside the door leading to the hot tub... the furniture and carpets were clean and inviting and there are lots of details and extras: nice furnishings and artwork, framed antique photos and decor that demonstrate trust on the part of the owners. We wanted to stay an extra day and it was available, and, they made it very easy. The properties at Carolina Mornings are a bit pricey but after staying there I'd emphasize that it is good value for the price - the only part I didn't like was leaving...Response from Carolina Mornings - 05/11/2010

Tampa, FLWarm and cozy - A home away from home!
Left on 03/25/2009 for a stay in February 2009
Very clean and updated. The views were gorgeous and the hot tub was perfect on such cold nights. It is so close to all of the things to do in Asheville and yet far enough away from everything that it was peaceful and relaxing. We would definitly vacation here again!

We arrived at the cabin after the first significant snow fall of the year. We were met soon after arrival by the caretaker who delivered fire wood. We enjoyed roaring fires both nights of our stay. The cabin was very nice and had all the amenities that you would need for a longer stay. We are already planning our next trip.

Mountain Sky is a lovely log cabin(actually a very large home) with a large fireplace, an outstanding kitchen, and (considered a necessity for me) washer/dryer/ironingboard/iron in a separate laundry room.
The closeness to in-town amenities while having the aura of being secluded in the woods was exactly for what we were looking.
Hosing down the outside deck once or twice a month would be my suggestion. -

I have stayed at several properties in and around Asheville, and hands down this is the best cabin we have ever rented. Comfortable, spacious, luxurious & very clean! It is obvious that the owners and caretakers have put a lot of thought into the high end amenities for this property. The smallest of details - down to the food for the hummingbirds is at your fingertips.
The cabin and property are beautiful! We have found the cabin that we will rent for every return trip.
