We had a wonderful stay at property #304 on Lake Winnipesaukee. The cabin was very clean when we arrived, which made me very happy as we had had a problem a few years ago with a rental that had not been cleaned at all. We loved the big screened in Porch which had outstanding views of the Lake and allowed the breeze to flow into the main living area. The combined Living room/kitchen area was very nice, not big, but certainly sufficient for a family of 4. The bedroom on the main floor was also small, but very nice. My (2) daughters ages 19 and 22 occupied the bottom floor and had nothing but high praise for that space. Nice size bathroom and cozy living area (with couch, T.V., and small table). The bunk beds also worked out well for them.
You couldn't ask for a more perfect location for a rental either. We only had to go steps to the lake for fishing or to go swimming and being within walking distance to Weir's Beach and Kellerhaus made it very nice. Also, contrary to previous reviews, no one at the "condo community" made any negative comments to us or advised us of rules regarding being there and we swam and fished every day and were only ever were greeted with a "good morning".
Being able to use the grill instead of going out to dinner every night made our stay a little more economical which certainly helped as well.
I have nothing but high praise for unit #304 and a big thumbs up!! Just wish I could have stayed for 2 weeks!! -

We loved our stay at this cottage. When we were very pleased. It was immaculate. The decor set the perfect tone for a stay on the lake. My girls loved being there. There was plenty of room for them to spread out and play. I was a little nervous at first about the stairs since I have a toddler but this was not a problem at all. It was spacious enough for her to enjoy herself. The sleeping arrangements worked out perfectly for us. There were many options for a family of five with the occasional overnight guest. Everyone that visited us was impressed with the cabin. The favorite spot for all was the front porch...perfect for playtime, reading, watching the boats, sitting with friends and even sleeping. We loved it and will hopfully stay again next year. We truly felt lucky to have such a place available to us.

Quiet neighborhood away from traffic; pleasant neighbors; beautiful new rustic interior decor; within walking distance of Weirs Beach attractions; very close to dock and waterfront; boat slip available to renter; beautiful lake and unobstructed breath-taking view.
Kitchen was tight, refrigerator small; off-street parking was readily available but not too convenient to the house. -

The location and the setup in the house was excellent! The house is well equipped with everything from movies, books, to salt and pepper shakers and pots and pans. The house is tastefully decorated throughout and the location is perfect. All the neighbors were wonderful and inviting. We really enjoyed our stay!

Had never stayed in the area, but always wanted to. Didn't know much about the geography, but had a few preferences. Emailed them to Preferred Rentals and they came back with this rental property, which looked like it met all the preferences at a reasonable rate.
Arrived as scheduled; check-in was fast and painless. Made our way over to the cabin and were happily surprised to find it basically perfect in every way.
Location was ideal; a few minutes' walk to the Weirs and the boardwalk area. A short drive to Laconia, Gilford, and Meredith. Surrounding owners were welcoming and very friendly.
Fully-apportioned with everything you could possibly need for a week away. Unbelievable views of the lake from a very cozy screened front porch that allowed ample ventilation throughout. Our only disappointment was not having a couple extra people with us to fully enjoy the downstairs, which is basically a separate little apartment sans kitchen (the upstairs kitchen is well-stocked for cooking anything you can imagine).
Had a wonderful time and could not have been happier. Hope the stars align again next year and we can come back. -

Our family of 4 had a great time. Location is excellent, views fabulous, cottage very clean, rustic yet complete with amenities and warm in feel. Deck overlooking the lake was the room of choice. The private dock space was used daily for a boat rented for wake-boarding for the week. An excellent value and would rent again without any reservations.

We truely LOVED the Location and the cottage itself. What was a huge turn-off (and I mean even so,that I spread the word to friends who were looking for vacation rentals in the same ideal area) due to the owners of the surrounding cottages.
Upon our arrival on the first day a rude man approached us as we were hauling our luggage into the unit to, "move our car" that we were in a spot that was an Owner occupied spot. Soon thereafter many owners sat themselves on the deck and watched every move we made during that initial move-in. After we were settled we were hot and wanted to get down into the water asap, which means we had to crawl around the owners who parked themselves at the deck entrance. At that point 4 different folks pointed out that they owned property and told us what was off-limits and that we need to make sure we cleaned up after ourselves if we bring any personal items down to the dock. The day continued on this way as me and my family were having private time in the water we were constantly interrupted with comments like "oh and by the way so-and-so is are owners and will be up Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, they go to bed early so if you can keep the kids off of the grass near their unit that would be best..."
I was appauled and it was a terribly rude way to start off the week with all of these people who were so obviously uncomfortable with renters. My family currently owns a vacation home in Stowe VT. I have never and would never treat anyone coming to rent in my area this way. It was obnoxious. The rest of the week was much the same we had the owner to the right. Constantly watching our every move. He told the kids to not jump from the dock he chose to do random outside chores right under our bedroom windows and near the deck while we were trying to have a family cookout. It was beyond intrusive and that is when we decided to spend the rest of the week at wiers beach,which was a complete waste of time & $ to have rented a waterfront cottage.Response from Preferred Vacation Rentals - 06/19/2009
