Description

Welcome to Our Spectacular Waterfront and Beachfront Bay Cottage Located on Lieutenant Island in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Internationally Featured on TripAdvisor (July, 2015) and also Regionally on Bostoncom. It's located in a Very Picturesque and Private Location with a Western Exposure. It has a Flowing Open Floor Plan with the Living, Kitchen and Dining Area Opening onto a Large 38'X10' Outside Deck with Panoramic Views of Cape Cod Bay, Great Island, Jeremy Point and Wellfleet Harbor. It's a Very Cozy Two Bedroom Cottage with a Full Bath on the Ground Floor. There is One Queen Bed in the Master Bedroom and Two Twin Beds in the Guest Bedroom. Beautiful and Unique Reclaimed Teak Floors are Throughout the Cottage. There's also a Wonderful Outdoor Hot/Cold Shower with a Beautiful Bay View. A Stainless MP Gas Grill, Fully Equipped Kitchen, Internet, Direct TV, Beach Chairs, Toys, Reef Walkers and Board Games are all Included. There is also a Surfboard, Kayak and Paddle, Boogie Board, Life Jackets are Available for your use (with signed waiver form). House Broken and Well Behaved Pets are Welcome (Please inform us if there will be no pets during your stay so that we can credit the "pet fee" upon your booking request). Guests have the option of the "renters insurance" ($75) which is included in the booking or a refundable "security deposit" ($1000). Please let us know if the security deposit is preferred so we can adjust the payment request accordingly. Linens and Towels are to be Provided by the Guests but are also Available from our cleaning service or a Local Linen Rental Agency (Additional Fee), Four PM Check-in/Ten AM Check-out. Nightly, Monthly and Multi-Week Rentals are Also Available Upon Request.

Winter note: There is an additional "winter service fee" of $150/stay (December 1st until April 1st).

Getting around

Transportation is reccomended while staying at the cottage to enjoy the nearby sights of Cape Cod. We are approximately two and a half miles from route 6 and the Cape Cod bike trail. Biking is very popular on the Outer Cape and the cottage is a good launching point for the bicycle enthusiast.

We're usually in the area if needed and are available for our guests needs, questions and concerns. We can be reached by telephone, text or email. We respect our guests privacy but are available for suggestions and reccomendations for things to see and do during a stay. Arrival, departure and keys to the cottage will be coordinated upon confirmed reservation.

Considerate and respectful smoking is permitted outside of the cottage. No smoking inside the cottage.
All pets are required to be housebroken, well behaved, well groomed and are not allowed on the beds or furniture. Flea and tick treatment is required prior to arrival.

The bottom few granite stairs to the beach may sometimes be slippery due to seasonal algae growth. Please be aware.

We do have a couple of great neighbors that are located within 100 yards of the cottage but with the private unobstructed views from all areas of the location they are mostly unnoticed. Unfortunately during your stay, the tides were notably higher than the average and required some planning around the high tide period. With all guests, we do our best in communicating the tide issue for the island and many have notated how much it adds to the charm of staying at the cottage and the island experience. Response from the owner We are truly sorry that you did not have the same enjoyable and memorable stay at the cottage that our guests normally experience! As a courtesy, and prior to arrival, we remind our guests to remember their linens and towels. Upon your initial reservation (with this being an issue) we offered a refund immediately which was declined. We've done our best to make sure that the linen and towel description in our listing has always been clear. It had not been an issue prior to your reservation and with your input, we further clarified the description. Located in a private island location, the Internet hotspot connection is at 3/4G. Until cable is available, this service is the best provided. We do our best with our description and photos of the rooms and furnishings and also of the beach. Directly from the property, many of our guests enjoy swimming at high tide and walking the tidal flats at low tide. We certainly apologize that your expectations were not met. The cottage is professionally cleaned for all incoming guests and we do wish that these issues were brought to our attention so they could have been addressed immediately. They have been brought to the attention of our cleaners. Unfortunately we're unclear with the extension cord issue! It is a forty year old post and beam cottage and the electrical service is hard wired. The circuit box/board and wiring have been updated recently. Also, we do apologize that you experienced an unusual amount of insects during your stay. With the bay breeze and our location on the island, they are seldom an issue. Once again, we are truly sorry that you did not have the enjoyable and memorable experience that the majority of our guests have during their stay at the cottage. Sincerely, Heather and Drew Taylor
