Surrounded by native bush, on the western slopes of Ahumairangi Hill, the apartment has dramatic views over Karori and the velvety hills towards Makara. Chanced upon this B&B;, and so glad I didn't search further; intuition told me it would be perfect, and it is. I stayed for 2 nights to get my brain back after straight through flights from England, before joining the Wellington family, and it worked. Spotlessly clean, attentive but discreet hosts, comfortable room, nice views, and no polyester bedding! Every little extra touch had been thought of. First class, and would recommend without hesitation.

This studio is well designed to give a pleasantly spacious feel. It has a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen area with the added appeal of two very rolly red stools. The shower room is excellent too. We arrived almost too late to drop off our luggage and drive back down to town in order to return our hire car before the 5pm deadline. Simon, to our relief, very kindly led the way in his car and then took us back up the hill. This was typical of the thoughtfulness we received from him and Clare.

The best stay during our one month travelling in NZL. It felt like coming home. We did not want to leave. Clare and Simon do everything that you feel at home. The apartment was furnished with love and perfect taste with a well equipped kitchen. The apartment offers a lot of space with a nice terrace in the green where one can relax perfectly. Furthermore it was very clean and bright. Altough not in the center it was no problem to go to the center and back by bus. There was nothing we did not like.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the studio and really enjoyed our stay. The studio was adequate and comfortable with very friendly, hospitable hosts, who picked us up from the airport and took us to the ferry terminal at the end of our stay, which we really appreciated. The bus into the city was just down the hill but would recommend a taxi back so that you don't have to climb the steep hill back up to the studio. I would not recommend this studio stay for anyone who is not fit or who has mobility problems. On a minor note, I have a back problem, so I did find that the mattress and the feather pillows were not that comfortable for me.
Tip:The alternative to the bus into the city, - the walk through the botanical gardens, is a long walk, I recommend the bus unless you are really fit. -

We stayed at the Dancing Green Studio for over a month and we couldn't have asked for better accommodation. The hosts are very welcoming and incredibly friendly and they never hesitated to go out of their way to help us.
The studio itself has been built and equipped with a lot of care for detail. The studio interior is very tasteful, modern and clean and yet very cozy.
We also enjoyed the fact that the studio is located in a quiet location, right next to the town belt park, and with a nice view over the hills. We preferred staying away from the buzz of the city and took the bus into town when we felt like it, which was very easy to do.
We will definitely try to stay at the Dancing Green Studio again, when we are back in Wellington. -

Stayed here for a week in Dec. Well equipped, light, airy, comfortable studio /self contained apartment. Free Wi Fi a bonus as were the books, Dvds and the tips from the proprietors on where to eat etc in Wellington. Breakfast included - for us cereal, juice, bagels and jam, tea/coffee provided a good start to the day.
Very pleasant stay indeed. -

First of all, I would like to say that Clare and Simon were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make our stay as perfect as possible. For example, my husband and I were arriving very late at night, and they made the apartment accessible to us without a problem. They also made themselves available to drive us to the grocery store to pick up some necessities before we were able to get our rental car. In addition, they have a wealth of information regarding Wellington and are happy to share their knowledge and advice with you. I would also like to note that while they were perfectly attentive, they also gave my husband and me plenty of space and privacy; no "hovering," so to speak. Our conversations were always animated and enjoyable.
Then there is the apartment itself: beautiful, thoughtful decorations that are warm and cozy at the same time. I am very picky about cleanliness, and Dancing Green was my definition of clean. Windy Wellington was living up to its name while we were guests, and it was wonderful to have such a lovely apartment to return to at the end of the day. The apartment is located in a charming residential neighborhood with city bus access to the city center, which we took advantage of many times. It has a great view and plenty of books and movies to keep yourself entertained if you decide to spend the day inside. My husband really enjoyed the cable TV service as well!
We stayed at the Dancing Green for 4 nights, and both my husband and I agreed that we could have stayed longer. Really an excellent value for the price. -

Great spot to spend a wonderful weekend. Everything that we needed, and beautifully decorated in a stylish but comfortable way. It was like being home but without all the little chores that being at home requires! Would definitely recommend and use again.

The apartment has a beautiful view of the Wellington hills and it was extremely well maintained by the owners. All amenities (kitchen, shower, TV, internet, sitting, sleeping and eating areas) were excellent. The apartment was very comfortable, and the nearby bus stop and restaurants made travel and eating out very convenient. Clare and Simon were welcoming, friendly and approachable - able to answer any questions we had about touring and shopping. Everything about the apartment was a+++ and perfect for our four week stay in Wellington.

My Girlfriend found this place whilst in the UK when we were preparing to emigrate to New Zealand. We needed a short stay base before finding more permanent accomodation and Dancing Green Studio and the hosts Claire & Simon did not disappoint. For our stay (1 month), Dancing Green Studio fitted the bill.
The apartment is fully equiped with everything you need to make your stay a good one and is comfortable and cosy. All the furniture, fixtures and fittings, etc. are all high quality. We had a great time there and our stay enabled us to settle into a new city in a new country.
Claire & Simon were friendly, most welcoming and very helpful. They even collected us from the airport, which was so welcoming after our long journey and much appreciated. A brilliant studio flat and we highly recommend. -

Dancing Green Studio is in a great location not far from the city and botanic gardens. The hosts have thought of everything down to a noticeboard in the apartment with local maps and suggestions for restaurants and attractions. The apartment also has a collection of books and magazines, cable TV and some Dvds provided so if you want to spend time in the room there is plenty of entertainment. This is a single apartment attached to a residential home - the hosts provide a good balance of contact - you don't feel like they are keeping an eye on you but they were available to assist when needed - even allowed us to use their laundry facilities and hung some washing out for us.

Really enjoyed our stay at Dancing Green, Simon and Claire were very friendly and accomodating. We stayed with our 5 month old baby, and they provided a portacot, baby bath and some toys which was very thoughtful.
The studio is clean, tidy and modern, with everything you'll need for a short stay in Wellington. Good bus routes into town and good distance from parks and reserve if you want to walk.
Claire and Simon were both happy to chat about what we could do while staying and there was a whole noticeboard of leaflets and maps for information in the Studio.
Would highly recommend to anyone. -

The location is really beautiful, amazing views and close to fabulous walks.The studio is extremely clean with a wonderful bathroom.The facilities are truly great and we loved the little Kiwi treasures you can purchase. Great if you've forgotten that all important pressi for grandchildren or parents!The hosts are incredibly helpful and kind, nothing too much trouble and the kitchen is well stocked with literature about the area.We liked everything, a truly awesome place.

We stayed two nights at the Dancing Green Studio apartment during Rugby World Cup 2011. Simon and Clare were wonderful hosts, meeting and collecting us at the airport.
They shared some of the history of Wellington as their own with us to make us feel at home. The apartment is very well laid out and comfortable. There is an information board which should give you all the information you'd ever need on Wellington, activities and eating out.
There are some nice eating places nearby and the amenities in the apartment are great. Cable television, internet, bathroom etc and Simon was happy to drop us off and collect us after the game.
We would be happy to recommend a stay there. -

Awesome, Relaxing, stunning place to stay for a weekend, even longer. The studio has everything we wished for. Would recommend the studio to every person we know. Clare and Simone made us feel so welcome. The homemade biscuits was a masterchef biscuit, thank you for that little treat.
