Description from the manager
Welsh Newton is a tiny hamlet located near to Monnow and the breathtaking Wye Valleys. Built in the 1600's this welcoming property is built from stone and has been converted from a working barn into a pretty holiday cottage. The house has been painstakingly refurbished to create comfortable, cosy country accommodation. There are 2 bedrooms one of which is a double and the other is a twin bedroom. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. There's a large open plan living space that is comprised of an equipped kitchen, breakfast area and airy sitting room. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

Very nice accomodation far enough away but close to a small town with enough shops to be able to buy your needs
The grounds were large with a stream and large trees and
beside a large manor house.
Plenty of places to visit and quite a few restaurants and pubs. Very relaxing and accomodation excellent and very modern. Two en suites means you are not waiting to wash -

All faclities and equipment you could need
Dodgy ankle precluded our usual long distance treks but plenty of shorter walks (as short or long as you like) in woods, by rivers etc - Symonds Yat, Tintern just a couple. Plenty of tourist attractions for lazy days. -

wonderfully situated for touring. Close to Symonds Yat a must for any visitor interested in wildlife and beautiful scenery also the Welsh border towns and the Brecon Beacons. Cottage very well equipped, cosy and warm. Everything you need for an 'AWAY FROM IT ALL HOLIDAY.'
