LedgeLawn Cottage, on New Meadows bay , is located about six miles from the open Atlantic.
The Cottage is centrally located, between Brunswick and Bath, or Freeport and Boothbay. It is easily accessible from Routes 95 and 1. LedgeLawn is nestled between an Audubon bird sanctuary, and the bay; It is a wonderful place to relax and live life at a slower pace.
This two story victorian cottage was built in 1897. It has a large open hearth fireplace in the main room, a dining area, a bath with shower, deck overlooking the water and sunset and the kitchen on the first floor. The second floor has three large bedrooms and a bathroom.

Jon was great about letting us book last minute and allowing our three dogs to stay with us. The home is 100+ years old two stories, a campy cottage feel. It is in a great location, very convenient to activities in the Bath/Freeport area, yet still off the beaten path. The beach area is down a very steep driveway, not easily accessible to anyone with mobility/health problems. Beach area is very small and rocky. Not easy to swim or put in canoe at low tide, high tide it is a bit easier. There were no oars for the rowboat. Water pressure is awful in the cottage, you must shower with water running at a trickle and/or shut off, soap up, turn on and rinse etc..Upstairs sink in the bath room barely runs at a trickle, had to use another sink stationed in one of the bedrooms to brush teeth and wash hands! There is no phone in the cottage and none of the doors shut completely nor do they lock, forcing you to leave the house unsecured all the time. Most of the electrical outlets are two pronged and there seemed to be a lack of working light bulbs in the lamps and nightlights. I saw only one smoke detector with cover missing near the front door. WiFi, cable and plenty of fans are included in the house. Should you make your way down to the shore its a great place to sit and watch the sunset. Though this is one of the more reasonably priced rentals, there's something to be said for cleanliness and security. We made the best of it and had a great time in the Bath, Freeport and Phippsburg areas!

We had decided to visit Maine somewhere North of Freeport but before Midcoast so that we could take full advantage of the shopping South of us ( one half hr ) and the beauty of this area, Boothbay ( less than half hr ) and North..This rental fitted the bill as it was so reasonable, on the water, yet just a few min from a main road and Bath. We loved that the owners were thoughtful enough to leave detailed travel info and many attractions options as well as personal restaurant recommendations. We especially were impressed by the cleaniness, extra lobster pots, dishes and everything one needs in a rental. Ledgelawn is simple yet has the cottage charm one desires when looking for that special Maine experience!! This cottage also accepts pets, and the owners are very in tune to pets as they are petlovers themselves!! Do not hesitate to book this lovely cottage! I will be back in the fall...
