Newly renovated lofted home with 2 decks. Located just a 5 minute walk from West Bay Mall and another 2 minutes to the beach, this 2 storey home overlooking the South Shore of Roatan has an open living plan with kitchen, dining and sitting area on the main floor with double french doors onto the first level deck. The upper loft is accessed via a double ladder, where two queen sized beds are located, the lofted area also has a French door to it's own deck and offers fabulous ocean views from bed. Small clustering of private homes just minutes east of West Bay. When travelling Westward from West End to West Bay you will see a large development called Keyhole Bay on your left that includes a ReMax office, continue past the dirt lane on the ridge in front of Keyhole Bay until the next gravelled lane to your left. Enter here, drive up a gentle rise approximately 100 yards until you see a large red house with a turret, at the house turn sharply left, down a short lane of perhaps 50 feet, then a sharp right to the end on your right, perhaps 150 feet, you have now arrived at the blue house on your right.

Ithis house was a perfect vacation rental and at a great price. If you are someone who needs a 5 star hotels, room service, a resort right on the beach, this place is not for you. However, if you enjoy privacy, home cooked meals, and comfort this place is for you! We were met at the airport and made a stop at the grocery store, so had plenty of food/snacks for the week. The house is great - 2 amazing balconies with ocean views and usually an amazing breeze, a full kitchen, couch (no tv though! A real vacation) wireless, A/C, alarm. This house is also quite private - you have a few neighbours, but aside from that you are fairly isolated. In terms of size, it would be a little tight for 2 couples - the beds are right next to each other, however it is completely doable. You do need to climb a ladder to the second floor where the beds are so it would be tricky with young kids. The location is ideal - a ten minute walk (max) from the nicest beach in Roatan, close to the 'mall' which has a few places to eat and a store in case you need anything. You are also close to restaurants, are a $10-15 cab ride - cabs are very available - to the more 'lively' West End. If you chose to watch the incredible sunset on the beach. it is safe to walk back from the beach after it gets dark. If you like to have a chair on the beach, there are plenty of places to rent for the day. Given that the beaches are public, you can throw your towel down anywhere, so you don't need to worry about staying at a resort to take advantage of the great beaches. The food in West Bay wasn't fantastic (a lot of fried food), so it was nice to have the occasional dinner at home. I was there to scuba dive and this house is also a 10 minute walk to Bananarama - a great dive shop! I would recommend this place to anyone who is keen on house rentals for a vacation.
