My husband and I are very particular, so when it came to our honeymoon we picked this place because it had room, privacy and beauty. That is exactly what you will get. The island is beautiful, however the vacation was made because of this house and the location. The snorkeling was great right off the key hole. You can hike around, lay on the beach or hang out in the pool. You don't need to bring beach towels and I suggest water shoes for the key holes. Kelly was fabulous. She helped out whenever we needed it. Make sure you stop at the grocery store in Coxan Hole and load up for breakfast and lunches. You are not going to want to leave and there are no full service grocery stores in West Bay or West End. The water at the house is filtered which was great. If I were to come back, I would bring along a smaller soft cooler to take drinks down to the beach more easily. If you get a taxi, ask for Sonja. You will need to rent a car. Unfortunately our car insurance wouldn't cover out of the country so we couldn't rent the van they had at the property but it is easy to rent on the island. She was really sweet. The only negative that we had is the house below has a rooster that tends to crow at 4am and every hour after that. It didn't happen every night but make sure the upstairs patio doors are closed and you will hear him less. I would recommend this house over any of the resorts on the island and to anyone that would be traveling to Roatan. Thank you so much for the memorable honeymoon!

SeattleAbsolutely Lovely House and Superb Owners and Management
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
A group of us stayed at L'Alize for 10 days. The house is absolutely fantastic, and the pictures are completely accurate. The location is perfect - very close to West Bay Beach but an easy escape from the crowds when necessary. The house is gorgeous and well-appointed and maintained; it had everything we needed to feel at home, including comfortable beds, spacious and well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms, plenty of towels, and a/C in the bedrooms (we didn't even need the a/C with the trade winds coming through - the house is situated perfectly to take advantage of them!). The owner and Kelly (manager) were wonderful - very helpful, very responsive, and very professional. I've rented quite a few properties via various rental sites, and I've always had good experiences, but this experience was the best yet in terms of the quality of the property, its location, and the professionalism and helpfulness of the management. Please don't change a thing!
Tips: Instead of Gumbalimba for monkeys, check out Bodden's Monkey Tour between West End and Sandy Bay (I believe the sign says "Maya Canopy Tours.") It's way less expensive (about $8), and you can actually play with the monkeys. They also have two kinkajous. Also, "Cindy's" (if I recall correctly) in West End has an amazing chicken burrito, and Rotisserie Chicken in West End is also a must. JavaVine in West Bay Mall has very good coffee and pastries, and the Hungry Munkey makes great sandwiches. We found snorkeling to the reef in West Bay easiest in front of Infinity Bay - there seems to be a "channel" of sand there that will take you between the sections of the reef to get out to the deeper parts (instead of winding your way between coral outcroppings just off Tabayana near Black Rock). On a calm day, snorkeling in front of the house is pretty cool, too!
We are looking forward to returning, and I've already recommended this rental to friends and colleagues! -

During our recent stay we found the house the perfect place for getting together with our daughter, son in law and family. Their was plenty of room to sit around in the evenings and the bedrooms were spread out nicely so we never felt a lack of privacy. The mini van was ideal for getting our group of 7 around, and we found the staff very knowledgable and accommodating. The pool was a favorite afternoon gathering spot as well as a great place to cool off! The private beach and grounds seem unspoiled with the lush greenery and wildlife. Clean rooms, a well equipped kitchen, ample eating area along with outdoor verandas overlooking the ocean made the stay very enjoyable. We never got over the view, seeing distant ships on the horizon or the waves crashing in. Hiking, fishing, snorkeling or walking the beach: we never ran out of things to do on the island. But we could just as easily have spent the whole time at L'Alize!

Seneca, SCQuiet and peaceful with breathtaking views and a constant ocean

Our family very much enjoyed our visit at L'Alize . The house is beautiful with a constant ocean breeze. It is located in a very peaceful, quiet location overlooking the ocean; however, is just a short distance from the shopping, restaurants and beaches of West End and West Bay. Great snorkeling is just a short walk to the beach or you can just walk out the back door and enjoy the pool. The house is tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. We couldn't have asked for a better location from which to experience the beauty of Roatan for the first time.
