      Great Get-Away

Left on 04/11/2011 for a stay in January 2011

The location of the house is perfect. Close enough to easily get to everything you want to do, but not so close that you don't have any privacy by the pool. The house is spacious and has all of the amenities from home.

      Great trip, great accomodations

Left on 10/17/2010 for a stay in October 2010

I stayed along with 5 friends at Casa Ladera for a week in October. The accomodations were great, with close proximity to restaurants, shopping and bars. We traveled to the other side of the island several times, and recommend The asylum, a little restaurant/bar on the South side that sits in the water on a pier. The Fantasy Island Resort is also a fun day trip with facilities, snorkeling, and restaurant. We found the house to be roomy, comfortable, and conveniently located.

It was a vacation in paradise

Left on 09/30/2010 for a stay in July 2010

Casa Ladera was perfect for a relaxing, heavenly vacation. The house is beautiful and the view is really breathtaking. Lounging on the upper deck was a favorite past-time in the early evenings to catch the sunset and the hummingbirds. The location is ideal as the property is conveniently situated near the beach (where there are various activities, shops and restaurants) but it is also tucked away in a lovely wooded area that provides plenty of privacy. We ventured across the island several times to explore but the beach at West End had everything we needed. Everything was perfect...the house, the pool, the island.

A wonderful family vacation on Roatan!

Left on 09/27/2010 for a stay in July 2010

Many thanks to the O'Neil family for our wonderful vacation experience at their home on Roatan in July. We took our parents, and 3 teens for a 10 day trip and everyone had a great time!

The flight in (2.5 hours direct from Houston) was easy, and the connecting trip from the airport was made effortless by the O'Neils staff. The house was amazing! The view from the back deck is amazing! What a great place to sit, relax and watch the sunset and boats sail by. The private pool was cool and refreshing!

We stayed on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the home. What a beautiful home.. with all of the furnishings and amenities you would expect. This home is perfectly located between the West Beach and West End sections of the island, just off the main road it is easy to access, and convenient.

I now understand why the O'Neil family loves to dive.. this island is definitely the perfect place for divers! Even though our family did not dive, we still had a wonderful time visiting the shops along West End, and the great resort style restaurants and facilities at West Beach. We highly recommend The Beach Club (upscale yet casual restaurant and lounge), and the Infinity resort (for day-pass access to pool and beach). Lunch from the 360 Lighthouse just a mile up the road from the house was good and the view is outstanding!

Besides diving, there are many other activities.. we did the South Shore Canopy Tour (Zip Lines), which the whole family loved! The locals are all very friendly and happy to see tourists.

We would definitely come back to this home again, and would easily recommend it to any of our friends!

      First time Roatan vacationers...

Left on 09/21/2010 for a stay in September 2010

Casa Ladera Roatan is a fabulous place to vacation. The house is just beautiful and complete with all the luxuries of home plus a few. The kitchen is stocked with all the stuff you have at home and there's a great grocery store up the road. The bedrooms are very tastefully decorated and comfortable and ceiling fans at night lulled us to sleep. We enjoyed the deck with a hammock and two chair swings overlooking the three tier pool...we saw hummingbirds galore and found plaintain trees on site. The view from the front porch is positively unbelievable and we watched cruise ships sail by in the distance. The island is 33 miles long by 5 miles wide with a variety of places to go. There is an abundance of fun beach shack type restaurants that offer excellent seafood and chicken dishes and the ahi Tuna is to die for ! Also fresh shrimp & lobster !
You have to go to The Hole in the Wall Restaurant at Jonesville and to the Blue Bahia where the owner, Kent, will amuse you with his stories and laid back personality. The beach at Bananarama resort offers chairs and a beach bar and crystal clear Caribbean waters ready for snorkling or diving.
Casa Ladera Roatan is a vacation dreamhouse. We'll plan to return for another week next year !

      Adventure in Paradise

Left on 04/12/2010 for a stay in November 2009

This place has an incredible view and a wonderful 3 level pool. Although we
had a car, you are only a 10 minute walk down the hill to the West End where
numerous dive shops abound. Additionally the West End is home to many
restaraunts and bars as well as a place to get a cheap $10 phone to call the
US. You park on the middle level and walk up to the top floor and down to the
      bottom floor and pool.

The house is equipped with living rooms and kitchens on each floor, as well as
two bedrooms on each, so you do not have to see other family members
unless you want to.. We typically cooked breakfast everyday as well as a few
dinners. The upstairs patio is huge and and the sunset view can not be beat.
When I was there the first time they did not have internet, but it is now up and
      running.

We just had a fantastic time at Casa Ladera.

I am ready to return The facilities were perfect, everything we needed was there.

The swimming pool is be3autiful, I didn't swim but sat by the pool and read which was very peaceful.

      Wonderful Place

Left on 03/25/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Casa Ladera! The house is beautiful and in
a private setting with wonderful views of the sea, especially at sunset! The
furnishings were new and the house was spacious and comfortable. We found
plantains on site as well as hummingbirds and all sorts of flowers. We were
able to walk to the beach and to shopping, dive shops, small grocers, atms,
and restaurants. Taxis were also easy to come by. The swimming pool was
refreshing in the heat of the day and a great atmosphere at night with the
      lighting around the pool!

Roatan was a welcome relief from Alaska in March. I can't wait to go back!
