      Excellent House

Left on 04/17/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We came with three other couples who stayed at Coco Lobo... we were looking for something to accommodate our 2 boys as well- this house was perfect (it was slightly more than 4 crammed in a Coco Lobo room). Very comfortable, well stocked kitchen, lots of room. Kids enjoyed watching Dvds (remember, no satellite TV). We didn't cook as much as we planned as the local restaurants were very reasonable. Having aC in the bedrooms at night was great, ensured a great night sleep. The safe was helpful for leaving things behind.

Make sure to bring Dvds (there were some), soap/shampoo.

      Perfect in Roatan

Left on 04/17/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Just completed a 1 weeks stay in Lodge B and it was near perfect. Everything you read about Ron and Bonnie is true. They are always around to show you what you need to know, and the lounge/infinity pool area at Cocolobo was a perfect place to hang out every night for the sunset. The Lodge itself is very well maintained; 2 large bedrooms with shower on the 1st Floor and a complete kitchen/dining/relaxing area upstairs with a great deck. We loved the giant BBQ and did shrimp skewers one night and steak the other night. The full kitchen is fully stocked and people leave various things like foil and dish soap so don't buy too much at Eldon's before you see what's there. Lots of towels and kitchenware, a coffeemaker (buy ground coffee, a drawer of movies (we only watched one movie all week). There is no cable TV. There is the sweetest skinny black cat that hangs around the front stairs. My daughter named her Bug, though we later found her name was Monkey, so Monkey Bug it was. She appreciated the cat food we fed her. :) Very sweet. You will not be disappointed here. And you can thank me for the green hot sauce and Spam I left later. Go for it!

Beautiful vacation home, very well equipped. The managers of Cocolobo, Ron and Bonnie, are very welcoming. The experience was excellent.

Paradise with all the amenities of home

Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We stayed here for 8 days from Oct. 27-Nov. 4, 2012. The lodge exceeded our expectations in almost every way.

We were two couples and it was more than big enough for each couple to have their own privacy. The lodge has two bedrooms downstairs, each with it's on full bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a king bed and the other has two queens in it. Our biggest complaint is the firmness of the beds. They are very very firm. Upstairs is the kitchen, laundry, dinning, and living room. Both upstairs and downstairs have huge decks. The deck on the second floor is big enough that it has a dinning table, a nice gas grill, and four lounge chairs. The lodge is a newer building and is built very well. One of the guys in our group is a home builder by profession and he notices how things are built. He was impressed with the build quality and the quality of the materials used on this place.

It is perfectly located on the West End past the busy part of Half Moon Bay. We thought the location was perfect. It is on the rocky shore just around the corner from the opening of Half Moon Bay. Cocolobo is a water front property, but it is not a beach front property. The shore is not accessible directly in front of the property. This makes for a great view of the water. There is beach access around the corner. This is good because it keeps other tourist from coming to the water right in front of your room. There is road access right to the lodge, other rentals on Roatan do not have such access. There is only a partial view of the water from the lodge. The deck on the second floor overlooks a well kept yard with lots of almond and mango trees. The location is very safe as well. My wife felt completely comfortable walking down to Half Moon Bay at night by herself. The snorkeling in Half Moon Bay is stunning.

The furnishings in the lodge are great (except the mattresses). There is a big TV with DVD player (no cable or satellite). The kitchen is furnished with great stuff. They even have good knives (most rentals we've used have cheapo knives that won't cut anything). The aC works very well and for a fat american like me, a necessity.

There are only three things that could have been better. 1. mattresses are too firm and the owner said they will be adding a mattress topper to remedy this. 2. hot water heater is too small and not hot enough. The lodge has a 20 gallon hot water heater and it's the same size of a building as my house and I have a 50 gallon in my house. When we showered, we turned on the hot water all the way and no cold. I'm not saying it is cold water, but it's not as hot as I like. It is plenty warm to steam up the bathroom but I sometimes like a shower that is so hot I can barely stand it. This is not a big deal, but we did notice. 3. No cable or satellite. The lodge does not advertise that it has cable or satellite, so I cannot fault them for not having it, but it would have just been icing on the cake if it had.

Overall, this is an amazing place to stay. If you're looking for a get-a-way with some excitement near by, this is the place for you. The lodge is great for couples or families. This part of the island is very family friendly. We have already recommended this place to friends and family.

Magical Escape with all the comforts of home

Left on 05/16/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We loved Roatan. This house made it feel like home. We fished, caught tuna and then enjoyed many meals at "home" in the best stocked gourmet kitchen of any house we have rented. Each morning began with coffee on the deck (the kids slept in or watched movies). The pool was nice but the nearby dock and restaurant was even better. We were there for Easter and the crowds did arrive but we could always escape at the lodge. Great vacation and a great location.

      Ultimate Comfort in Paradise

Left on 05/14/2012 for a stay in February 2012

My husband and I spent a month here with our daughter and son-in-law. The house was more than expected. Beautiful inside and out, well equipped, well appointed and conveniently located. We appreciated the air conditioning as the temperatures were pretty hot during our stay. The beds were very comfortable and, for once, there were enough hangers in the closet. Ron and Bonnie at the lodge were very helpful and Haidi is a gem, there was nothing she couldn't do or arrange to make our stay a pleasure. We loved the hummingbirds and kept the feeder full. When I first saw the pool at the lodge I thought it was too small but soon discovered it was all that was needed, besides the fact that I could truthfully say that I swam 20 lengths every day. Now for the item in the description that says "not suitable for elderly" I am not sure what they classify as "elderly" I am pushing 69 and my husband has just succumed to the dreaded 70 and we had absolutely no difficulties. We would not hesitate to go back again.

Cocolobo Roatan, a vacation to remember

Left on 05/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012

This was my first visit to Roatan; truly a beautiful destination and the perfect place for an island vacation. This brand new property is amazing. It is extremely clean, well maintained and equipped with everything you will ever need. The wrap around deck was the most relaxing place to sit and read morning, afternoon or evening. The bar was the place to be to experience the spectacular sunsets. Prepare to unwind, relax and enjoy the beauty of Roatan at Cocolobo.

      Amazing accommodation and great location

Left on 05/09/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The house is located in a perfect location. 3 minute walk to the west end but away from all the noise at night. You have partial ocean views from the two balconies. It is great that you can use the pool at the Cocolobo Resort and beach access is about a 2 min walk. The house is beautiful with gorgeous hard wood floors, air conditioning in the two bedrooms (both with on suite bathrooms) and living area upstairs, access to the internet, bottled water service, great TV, high end utensils and modern amenities with a washer dryer, barbecue, great outdoor decks with fans on the balcony.

If I could give it more stars I would!

Left on 05/08/2012 for a stay in April 2012

I stayed in theis lodge with my family for about 10 days in april/may this year, and we were all thrilled we had chosen this destination. The house is in perfect condition, just as it is advertised here, and exactly how the pictures show it to be. It is located right across the street from cocolobo, and there is a security guard there (if safety is a concern to you). The half moon bay beach is really close, but we rarely went there since there is a dock closer by were you can snorkel from. The rooms were comfortable, with big closets, fan, ac and with screens on the windows (bugs were not particularly an issue when I was there, but I was still happy no spiders were gonna crawl in my room..). The upstairs is very spacious, with two ceiling fans, an extra small fan (all very necesary since the upstairs can get a bit hot around noon) and a huge ac (charged separately if used). The wrap around balcony was to die for! we had breakfast there every morning and watched all the huming birds zoom by...
Last but not least, the kitchen was extremelly well equiped (which was important to us since my dad loves cooking..) and the supply of bottled water was included :)
I was a bit hesitant since I found no reviews on lodge B, so I hope my review helps others not miss out on this wonderful house.
