My husband and I stayed in the top floor apartment the last weekend in February this year, and the property was fantastic! It looks just like the pictures, and it was really a home away from home. The place is so comfy we found ourselves wanting to spend a lot of time there, instead of rushing out to see the sights. The location can't be beat. We walked to Hollywood Blvd., dinner, and even a few of the local bars. It's a very safe and vibrant neighborhood. The driveway is a little tight, we have a large truck, but my husband was able to navigate it pretty easy. But, by far, the best part of the entire stay was the owner! She is truly one of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She greeted us upon arrival (hugs and all), showed us around, asked us questions, and by the time our few minutes of introductions were done we felt like we had known her for years. She would come out every once in a while and see us off, chat with us about things to do in la, etc. She really seems to genuinely care about her guests, and I know my husband and I will never stay in a hotel in la again! With the reasonable cost, spacious digs, and such a gracious host, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The place truly helped make our la experience! :)

We spent a wonderful stay on the top floor apartment during the Thanksgiving week. Looks just like in the photos. It is walking distance to Hollywood and very close to Santa Monica blvd which makes it very convenient to drive to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica etc. It has a small but full, equipped kitchen and there is a Target and Trader Joe's nearby to stock up on groceries. The free gated parking is a plus too!
The owner lives on the premises and is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about la. She responded promptly to all my enquiries before our visit. We also loved playing with the two friendly dogs. Overall, a very clean comfortable place to spend some time in while you see the sights of la and southern California. -

My partner and I found Rica's place very clean, tidy and well appointed. The location was brilliant - only 3 minute walk to bus stops and mall, 4 minutes to supermarket and only 20 minute walk to the walk of fame, Grauman's Chinese Theatre etc etc. Rica was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when I return to la.

My daughter, wife and I rented the upper unit and my in-laws rented the lower. We all loved the comfort, privacy and location. If you're looking for a place near everything Hollywood then this is the place for you. Walking distance to Hollywood Blvd and the Grove. From start to finish, Rica and her son were very helpful in a most unobtrusive way. Driving to Santa Monica pier? Take Sunset to end and turn left. Great place to people watch. Carry on a bit further south to Venice Beach for more people watching. We loved every minute of our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks Rica for all your help and hopefully one day we can return.

It was my first trip to la for work purposes and this apartment was just perfect. In a central location I was able to get around la quite easily. The apartment was fully equipped and a cosy home from home. Rica could not have been more helpful from the initial enquiry through to the end of my stay - I really could not have asked for a better host. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and I myself am intending to return early next year.

Rica couldn't have been more accommodating or nicer. I was planning on cooking for my wife and asked if a few kitchen items could be provided and voila, Rica had them ready in the kitchen. (Sadly, I didn't get to use it, we just enjoyed the amazing restaurants in the surrounding area)
The place itself is wonderful, full kitchen, great bedroom, nice living room, absolutely perfect and what we were looking for. You can't go wrong with staying here. So many wonderful places that are walking distance.Response from RICA BURTON - 08/20/2011

Only stayed for 5 days but it was great, Rica is a wonderful caring person nothing was too much trouble for her and she made us feel very welcome. The apartement was super clean and had everything you could need and is in a great location just a short walk to the main strip. i would definatly stay there again.

Myself and my teenager daughter stayed with Rica. It was our very first trip to the States, so I was a little anxious. Rica put my mind at ease before I even arrived by offering helpful advice and reassurance. Rica couldn't help us enough which was greatly appreciated and once we had settled in it was comforting to know Rica was there if we needed. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and tidy with all teh comforts of home. I have already strongly recommended this accommodation to all my friends and colleagues. Thanks Rica xx

I'm from australia and needed to spend a few days in la researching a business opportunity. I got lucky with Rica and her lovely little apartment. It's trendy, clean and private and has all the essentials for comfortable living away from home. Also it's in a lovely street and close to all the Hollywood attractions. Rica was a great host and helped me with suggestions of places to visit. I would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at Rica's "cottage" for 10 days. On arrival Rica, Lee and "Bonnie" were there to greet us - and what a warm welcome it was. Never met a concierge in any hotel who greets you with such a big smile and big welcoming hug, and you just know right away everything is going to be all right. The cottage is at the back of Rica and Lee's home but very private. The cottage comprises of three rooms: a fully-equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and cosy TV room. A fold-up bed was set up for me in the TV room and my friend had the double bed. We were snug as bugs in a rug and very comfortable. Location was superb and in close proximity to Hollywood Boulevard and the train station which takes you anywhere you want to go to in la. Santa Monica Boulevard is only a few minutes walk away and provides easy access to Santa Monica Beach, Beverley Hills and Rodeo Drive. Sunset Strip is only a few blocks away and one can actually walk there or catch the bus on La Brae which is close by. The cottage is squeaky clean and very homey. Great stay; wonderful people. Can recommend with confidence. Thanks for everything, Rica and Lee.

We had a great and enjoyable time in la. Rica and her husband are very warm, friendly, polite, sincere and intelligent people! The hosts were always attentive to our additional requests, generous and extremely helpful. The apartment was very clean and fully equipped. Towels and personal care products were provided in large quantities, which was useful for us during the summer period. Excellent location in West Hollywood, close proximity to many points of interests (Sunset Strip, Hollywood Boulevard, etc) and grocery stores (Ralph's, Whole foods). Convenient and safe car parking in the backyard. Our son had a lot of fun playing with Rica's lovely dog. The apartment is highly recommended. Rica was the best - accommodating us on very short notice and welcoming us to her cozy, extremely clean (no need to check the mattress & sheets here folks!) and well furnished & equipped apartment with literally wide open arms. Everything you need - plus a bit more - is provided. One of her first questions to us was whether we had an umbrella (we arrived in the rainy season). Having left Louisiana in a hurry (new granddaughter), we hadn't even thought about that. Voila! An umbrella appeared. I could go on, but let me just say that Rica is very attentive to the needs of her guests.
We had a vehicle that we were able to park safely and securely in their gated backyard but you really wouldn't need one in this location - walking distance to tourists attractions, grocery stores, and much, much more. Or just a great neighborhood to take a leisurely stroll.
We had a delightful stay and plan on another in the very near future! -

We are a recently retired couple and we found that shops and public transport were close by. Around the corner is a Target store and around the other corner is a supermarket. There are a number of reasonably priced cafes and restaurants nearby and buses leave every 15 minutes or so - to nearby Hollywood Boulevard (where you can also catch the train to downtown la). The other bus line enables you to go all the way to Santa Monica Beach (at minimal cost by the way - particularly if you are a senior).
Rica and hubby were very good hosts. We were given an extensive introduction to both our living quarters and the local area. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the free wifi is a great feature. The only criticism was the unanounced cleaning fee which was significant, but overall the total cost still represented good value for money.

I've visited la a few times and generally stayed in hotels, but never again after finding this lovely holiday let. It's set in a quiet leafy residential street within walking distance of Hollywood, Sunset and Santa Monica Boulevards and Melrose avenue so there are great bars and restaurants close by and supermarkets just 5 mins walk away.
The apartment is cosy and welcoming, sparking clean and has every amenity you could want and some you hadn't even thought of, a real home from home.
Rica's the loveliest landlady you could hope for, always on hand and nothing is ever too much trouble. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in la. -

A friend and I stayed at this one bedroom in West Hollywood and it was excellent. Rica Burton runs a clean place with several amenities. There was even a place to park a rented car. You also can't beat the location as one is close to all major points in LA, even 25 mins to Santa Monica.
Rica Burton is also very warm and accomodating.
Highly recommended. -

The owners are really adorable and the place is settled in the very heart of Hollywood/West Hollywood.
The house is clean and tidy, good neighbors and the parking place is soooo useful.
Amenities are just by a little walk (the house is really near the famous hot spot JONE'S) and markets (Albertson, Trader's Joe, etc.) are just one block distant.
Warm welcome as I arrived and californian lemons as a memory when I left the house.
I suggest Rica's house as a good plae to spend some good days! -

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Not enough can be said about Rica and Lee (the hosts) - they knew just how to interact with us and our 2.5 year old. The location is perfect - close to everything (and Rica and Lee were also excellent at suggesting where else to go). The apartment was a good size, though with a 2.5 year old it did seem small at times. Fortunately the courtyard was inviting too.

Lovely place to stay. Thoughtful touches - shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, hairdryer, etc. Rica was very available & accomodating to any requests - although, I really did not have any special needs - she did ask more than once if there was anything else I needed to make my stay more comfortable. Comfortable bed, a/c, & furnishings very pleasant. Convenient to Target, etc!!
I would have enjoyed a toaster - I know, I could have asked - but with Starbucks 2 blocks away - was not an issue!!

We decided to go on a road trip from Las Vegas to California and staid at this cozy apartment. It was a great experience and a great location it is walking distance from many shops, restaurants, parks and supermarkets. The apartment was well furnished, very clean and with a kitchen with everything you need to cook up some food. One of the things that I loved most about this place was that it is pet friendly. I have a golden retriever and I have canceled many trips just because I can?t take my dog. I would definitely do this again.

We stayed in the lower apartment, which was a perfect size if you are not spending a lot of time inside.There is a great patio right out the door. The upstairs apartment has a bigger bathroom and more room, so if you want to spend a little more money, I would stay in the upstairs one.The house is very quiet, and near everything in Hollywood!!Sheets, towels and the basic kitchen stuff are provided. You need to bring soap and the rest of things you usually are provided with in hotels.The prices for both are very reasonable. The owners are very friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

Great family! Strictly first class guests, easy to host, plus they left EVERYTHING immaculate. Thanks to Diane, future guests now have shampoo & conditioner, body wash & lotion, toothpaste and MORE! Also, a top-of-the-line coffeemaker. (Just because Diane said she would go and get one!)
