A wonderful stay and Wonderful Place

Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in February 2013

This was the first time that I had ever been to la and also the first time that I have ever rented a property that was not a hotel.

This place made our holiday just wonderful...it was far more then expected...in a fantatstic area with everythng at our door steps. The bungalow was extremely clean and spacious , and it was just so comfortable , and the owner Joe was just tremendous to do buisness with and he went beyond anything he had to do to ensure that our stay was wonderful, his communication was just fantatsic on all occasions.

I would highly recommend this property for a great stay in West Hollywood...thx Joe for a great stay

      A gem!

Left on 03/29/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My husband & I and 3 19/20 yr olds stayed here
For 10days. The bungalow is like a tardis. I thought that
We would struggle with one bathroom as 2 of my sons
Friends were with us. But we didn't. The property is very comfortable
and has everything you need. The kitchen is particularly
Well equipped. The property is in a great location, in a safe and well positioned area. Joe the owner is extremely helpful and responds promptly
To any requests or enquiries. We would definitely stay there again.

      Great location and good communication

Left on 11/10/2012 for a stay in November 2012

I stayed here between the 30th October and 9th November 2012 whilst travelling on business. The booking process was very well organised and Joe sent relevant information in a timely fashion. I had arranged to have the parking space on the property which was great but I noticed there was also ample enough parking if the private space was not an option. The house was ready and keys waiting when I arrived as per the instructions. The house is well located just off Santa Monica Blvd. and is in easy walking distance of WeHo and Melrose with a good choice of restaurants and grocery stores (there is a Whole Foods in walking distance). The accommodation itself was clean and well appointed with a fully usable kitchen with equipment for the one or two nights I stayed in and ate. The house was airy, lots of windows and french doors from the bedroom to a terrace area. The area is very safe. I walked around both day and night and didn't find anything that would give me concern. My only observation - and this is not necessarily a criticism - the property is nearing the point it will nee a coat of paint and I am sure this is on the cards. But I should also add the price we paid was very good value. I cannot recommend the property highly enough.

      Hi Nick,

Thank you for the review. We were thrilled that you booked us again in April 2013. As I'm sure you noticed we were able to repaint the place in between your stay. We will continue to maintain, improve and upgrade the place. Hope to see you again soon!

      Well situated and considerate owner

Left on 09/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed here for a week at the end of august as part of a longer trip to america.
The house was a real home - in a nice, clean and reassuring way - , well equiped and was a great choice for our visit. Close, but not too close, to all the delights of WeHo and beyond. There was a good range of restaurants nearby and a supermarket within walking distance.
The owner was a delight and dealt with problems - minor - with discretion, professionalism and courtesy. It was great to know someone who cared would be there if you needed them to be but would leave you alone if you didn't.
I would recommend these rentals wholeheartedly particulalry if, like us, you value your privacy and peace and quite but still want to be near enough to the action to let your hair down.
Hope to be able to come back after November LOL.

      Felt like home!

Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Perfect in every way. Choosing to stay here so close to everything, and yet in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood was the wisest decision we made. Everything else about our recent trip to la went so well because of the fact we came "home" every night to this house. On our next trip to la we will definitely hope this place is available. It's comfortable, quiet, nicely decorated, and Joe made sure everything went smoothly. I have rented vacation homes before with very good luck, but this has been the best.

Comfortable, Affordable and in a Good Hollywood Location

Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Havenhurst was a very comfortable house with all the essentials you are looking for whilst staying away from home with a family. Cooking was made easy as there were spices and oil already on hand. Soap and shampoo were also supplied along with laundry powder. The location was great as it was within walking distance to local grocey stores. We had a car and parking was also no trouble. Joe was very helpful and presented the house beautifully with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival. From Melbourne, Australia

      A Perfect Won-One Situation

Left on 09/24/2010 for a stay in September 2010

At an auction, my wife and I bid on, and won, a one week stay in the Bungalows. (That's the "won"). Though we never redeemed our prize within the first year per the terms of the prize, I finally had a chance to visit West Hollywood with an old friend to see a concert at The Greek. Joe was very generous in allowing us to redeem the prize and stay in Bungalow One (the "One" of the situation).
What we won was a fantastically pleasant surprise - emphasis on "fantastic" and "pleasant". The bungalows are so convenient to the Burbank airport, The Greek, walking distance to restaurants and shops and an easy drive to all that Hollywood has to offer, that we were able to enjoy so much more than our 30 hours in L.A. would otherwise allow. Just so you know - the Mondrian and The Grafton hotels are a few blocks away. The bungalows are fastidiously maintained with every comfort. The on-line photos cannot impart the "chi" of this adorable West Hollywood vintage bungalow or the charm created by the proprietor. The residential location provided only quiet and solitude which one could enjoy with a glass of wine or cup of coffee on the back patio off of the bedroom - with mature landscaping of palms and citrus, ferns and flowers. The beds and bedding are "guest-room" quality and invited a nap with the windows open to enjoy the perfect breeze without any disturbance from noise or neighborly activity. The layout is roomy and the bedrooms and living area are separated by a long hallway so guests can easily stay out of each other's way (or sight). While the one bathroom may be a logistical concern for more than two adults, my friend would not hesitate to return with his wife and two children. By the looks of the place - children may not be permitted. Don't fear the street parking - where there is plenty, the residential location - which is quiet, safe, and sedate, or the owner-managed aspect - which is as attentive and well orchestrated as you will need - Joe was accessible to immediately respond to a high-maintenance guest like me.
Need I rant and rave any more? Do yourself a favor and book this bungalow now. Last minute reservations, by the way, aren't always easy to come by at the Havenhurst Bungalows.

Thanks, Tod for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just so you know, children are absolutely welcome, and a great place to stay for families since it's a centrally located place- very close to Universal Studios, The Grove, La Brea Tar Pits, etc. Hope to see you soon!
