Formerly used a Bed and Breakfast and situated only a mile out of West Jefferson, this large home offers something for everyone!! My family, consisting of 11 people, stayed at the lil red hen over the new years holiday. The house was more than big enough and outside the kids had plenty of room to run and play. The stream out front was an awesome touch and you can see beautiful mountain views from the front yard. The home was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday, and was fully equipped with everything we needed and then some. All in all this was a wonderful stay and we will definatly be back to West Jefferson soon.

On the website this home has everything, including a mountain stream...should have been called a creek that goes to flood stage in a light rain. All in all, this is a beautiful house...just in the wrong area. There is a lot of future construction areas around this home, as well as a factory of some sort next door...not in the mountains as I had invisioned.

My family stayed at "lil red hen" during the July 4th weekend. We had a marvelous stay! Nothing like feeling back home on the farm with all the conveniences of town near-by. We recommend this place for those who love country living.
