Cape TownStunning Views and an Amazing Place to Stay
Left on 10/18/2011 for a stay in October 2011
It's off the beaten track and an amazing place to de-stress.
We were 2 adults; 2 children (10 & 11) and 1 large dog and we all had a fantastic stay - 6 days.
The boys loved the freedom ("it's the best place ever" & "it's better than a 5 star hotel"). Despite there being full DSTV, they hardly watched any TV; preferring to bike, build a den and play. There was some definite "Bear Grylls" and "Ray Mears" roleplaying going on.
Our dog also had a ball. The cottage is situated in it's own compound so we could take or leave him depending on our scheduled activities. Wonderful walks left him tuckered out and happy. It's so nice to be able to include our dog in our holiday rather than dumping him at kennel.
As adults, we were able to relax and de-stress completely. The children were safely running wild and we could just enjoy the peace and quiet. My husband, a keen photographer, was inspired by the vistas and took some great star trail photos (no light pollution).
The weather was mixed (some rainy and some sunny days) and we were fine regardless - on the sunny days, we enjoyed braais on the expansive decks with the stunning views. On the rainy days, we curled up in front of the fireplace (all wood is provided) and enjoyed the cosy cottage.
Dean was a charming host and ensured that we had all that we needed but also gave us our space .
The cottage was fully equipped and we lacked for nothing. They even welcome you with organic milk. eggs and wine.
Highly Recommended! -

RoodepoortAn experience to be repeated as often as possible
Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in September 2011
This establishment is clearly the pride and joy of the owners. Booking was a breeze, e-mails were responded to without delay and I was constantly updated with news, maps and everything else that could be needed. Everything was explained on checking in and there were regular sms's to ensure that everything was in order.
Staying at Noah's ark was an awesome experience - the accommodation is comfortable and well equiped, the views and the peace and quiet just what is needed for a totally relaxing holiday. I will certainly be back!! -

Cape TownAway from the crowds
Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in June 2010
Our stay at Lake Views (Noah's ark) was the most comfortable of our Garden Route driving holiday. The living area was spacious and child-friendly, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and Dstv kept our two young ones entertained when we looked for a little more morning shut-eye. Practicalities aside, the view from the balcony is quite stunning. We really felt like we were out in the country, rather than a few kilometres from the crowds of Wilderness. Hoping to get back soon.

JohannesburgThe most amazing views and service
Left on 08/13/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We had never visited the Garden Route before and on browsing the internet came across Lake Views. What struck us the most was the casual, friendly style Dean used in his emails and his attention to detail which immediately captured our interest. As fate would have it, they were able to fit us in for the exact dates we wanted and we decided to go ahead and book. We couldn't have selected a better base for our exploration of the Garden Route and we all fell in love with the cottage called Noah's ark - exclusive, private, cosy with a wooden deck where you could spend hours just soaking up the view. If you love amazing sunsets and night skies with millions of stars then this is the place for you too. We read the guest book comments and felt a little smug at being able to stay for two weeks in this slice of heaven whereas many guests had only stayed for a few days. Stay as long as you can!! Even when it rained we curled up with some rented dvds and enjoyed it just as much as a day on the beach.
This review would not be complete without raving about Dean and Susie who represent the ultimate in service. The little extras in the cupboard, the welcome bottle of wine, getting our washing dry on damp days, advice on where to eat and go and getting up early to see us off on our last day. We said we'd be back and we have already booked two weeks for December 2011.

Goodwood,Cape TownWhat a breathe of fresh air!
Left on 08/11/2011 for a stay in October 2010
After much "window shopping” on the internet,I came across the Lakeviews website. The description of the actual venue and surroundings ,to me literally sounded too good to be true,as I have in the past encountered many vacation websites where the pictures are phenomenal, but when you actually get there reality and the "advertising” are 2 worlds apart.
Well ,this time around that was certainly not the case by no stretch of the imagination. In fact,I will go as far as saying the pictures/advertising down played the actual venue and views! First off, we chose Lakeviews as the destination for our honeymoon,we literally checked in after 22:00pm on that evening.Dean & Susie were fantastic hosts.Dean met us at the entrance and drove with us to the Cabin. He showed us around the cabin, just to check that we were happy with everything and was then on his way.
The cabin itself is really something else. My best description of it would be, complete serenity. Waking up the next morning ,opening the curtains and being caught in the middle of this fantastic view of the lake, was literally breathtaking. An experience that can best be understood by experiencing it oneself.
There is no doubt in my mind at all that Lakeviews will be where I'd prefer to celebrate our 1st anniversary!
Regards,
Cheslyn & Audrey Roberts

Cape TownA Tranquil Piece of Heaven on Earth
Left on 07/30/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This was our second stay. We have travelled and stayed in many places - there is nowhere on earth that we can think of - that rivals Lake Views.
The beautiful location makes you feel like you are tucked away in a tree house with just a million bird sounds around you. The views over the lake are breathtaking.
The accommodation itself is beautifully appointed and has everything you need plus some. It offers the best of all worlds - peace and tranquillity and just a +-15 minute drive to Knysna if you want to explore the beauty of the area
The phrase "a space that feeds one's soul" conjures up images of this beautiful venue -

From the moment my husband and I arrived at lake views cottages we knew it was a special place. Dean, Suzy and little atlantis were there to welcome us and take us to the beautiful cottage 'Noah's ark'. We will never forget walking down the steps and entering the cottage, everything had been thought of by our hosts from the fully equipped kitchen, the tastefully furnished lounge and the 2 bedrooms, to wood for the Braai, but the best was to come, as we walked out of the lounge onto the spacious balcony our breath was taken away by the stunning views of the lake and in the distance the Indian ocean. The peace and tranquility of this very special place is something that will stay with us forever. Dean and Suzy kept in contact with us to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay and nothing was too much trouble, our every need was catered for. I can honestly say that I have no hesitation in recommending lakes view cottages for a most unique experience and a truly unforgettable stay in an unforgettable place.
In an unforgettable place.

We wanted it all: peace & quiet, comfort, a fire place, easy to find, views, restaurants and shops nearby, clean, cosy, nature with hikes, safety, hassle-free and maybe a bit of luxury. We found Noah's ark and it was so, so much more than we dreamed of. A perfect weekend hide-away that leaves nothing to be desired.

An absolute must for a return visit. Our visit was far too short to enjoy everything to the full. The faultless excellence of the hosts, the accommodation that catered for our every need, the most amazing view, the forest air, and not to forget Knysna and surrounding area...South africa at its best!!!

Left on 07/26/2011 for a stay in October 2010
We are traveling quite a lot in Sa and stayed at some very nice places, but Lake View Cottages is one of the best! Actually we canceled our other booking at St. Francis Bay to come back to Lake View and spent more time there! Lovely, cosy and very clean cottage with a beautiful view! Everything we could wish for was provided! The kids and dogs loved the huge fenced garden and especially the swing! With Dean and Susie we had the most friendly and helpful hosts! It`s a shame the cottage is so far from Pretoria, otherwise we would stay there more often. But ones for sure: we definitely will come back! Thank you so much for unforgettable, wonderful holidays!

On arrival you are always greeted with a smile from Dean and a complimentary bottle of wine. The house is always beautiful maintained and have a spectacular view overlooking the lake. Knysna is a stone throw away and have lots of activities there. We go every year and it is a great getaway and relaxing weekend. Therefore if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the best place to relax.

Dean and Susie have created a fantastic getaway spot, we had a such great stay that we were very reluctant to leave. The host and hostess are especially warm and friendly and are so excellent at what they do we didn't want for anything. The location of Lake Views is sublime, perfect for the quiet romantic getaway. The next time I want to leave the hustle and bustle for a quick few days' break, this is definitely where I will be going!

Left on 07/12/2011 for a stay in January 2011
My wife and I had the good fortune of founding Lake Views on the internet, and while the photos looked good, we've found that photos are generally very flattering. When we arrived we were happy to find that in fact the photos didn't do Lake Views justice.
The cottage is spacious and comfortable, and the views are absolutely lovely. We also found Dean to be a very gracious and attentive host. If you want a few peaceful days to enjoy the beauty of nature you'd be hard pressed to find better value than Lake Views. -
Linda and Di and the fourlegged babies
Johannesburg, South Africaa piece of heaven
Left on 07/10/2011 for a stay in December 2010
as i am writing this, i am counting down the days till december this year. the reason... to breathe... peace and quiet.
as two busy girls living and working in johannesburg( the hub of all activity in South africa), we seek what johannesbrug cannot offer when we go away on holiday.
lake views has it all. waking up in the main bedroom is like waking up in the trees, with mist floating in over the ridge from the sea and softly floating above the lakes below.
even our four legged babies( two huskies and a jack russel) love lake views, as it is fenced off and secure. caspian, our alpha male husky, loves sitting on the top deck , where he has a 180 degree view and can sniff the air on leisure.
Our only problem with lake views, is that unfortunately time flies by sooo fast, and 10 days seems like a drop in the ocean.
So our solution is to come back, for a glass of wine in the cozy lounge below, with fire place roaring, or sitting on the deck and soaking up the tranqulity... till december lake views!!! -

Dean & Susie were the perfect hosts in every way - this started with excellent communications when we made our booking. On our arrival they took ample time to explain the set up and information regarding the locality. The rooms were spotless and the provisions supplied were first class. We could not have asked for more.
As experienced international travellers, we (and Shadow our dog) rated our stay most highly. -

Lakeviews are very well situated when visiting the George, Knysna and Mosselbaai area. The cottages is beautifully hidden away in the Western Cape splendour and furnished with all the luxuries I am used to at home. The post card view from the wooden deck is the perfect spot for an afternoon "braai". The price quoted was definitely not a gauge for the exclusive experience we received. All of the facilities beauty and comfort is perfectly complimented by the owners' combination of South african hospitality and European efficiency. Do not miss this!

Noordhoek Cape TownUnique Location & Superb accomodation
Left on 07/05/2011 for a stay in July 2011
A stunning treetop hideaway with a quality sense of comfort and style. The views are truly unique and the excellent level of service we received from Dean and Susie from the time of booking ensured we had everything we needed.Maps were emailed ensuring we didn't get lost and upon arrival were welcomed by the family and their dogs. We were shown to our accomodation by Dean who explained how everything worked and were given a huge pile of firewood, organic milk, eggs and red wine. Stunning walks through the forests, mountain biking or just plain chilling are on offer, but whichever you choose will be a complete destressing experience.
The 2 double en suite bedrooms in "Noahs ark" had extremely comfortable beds ( often a downfall in a lot of establishments ),extra blankets and a heater for those chilly nights. There are even throws for sitting outside at the evening braai. The gas fireplace in the lounge was a lifesaver considering we experienced the coldest week thus far! This truly is a special place with all the little extra attention to detail making it an experience never to be forgotten. Highly recommended! -

Cape TownStunning location and every whim catered for!
Left on 07/05/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Upon arrival at Lake Views, we were warmly greeted by our host, Dean. Perched on top of a forested hill with 180 degree views of Swartvlei, Lake Views has a location second to none, with the lake in front and forest to the side and behind the house. Absolutely everything is catered for in this house, from a hairdryer to an extra 4 blankets each for the (very comfy) beds, a fireplace which heats not only the bottom floor but the upstairs as well, heaters for both tastefully decorated bedrooms, coffee/tea/sugar/milk and wine upon arrival, as well as wood and firelighters. We had absolutely everything we could have hoped for! A weber braai as well as a 'proper' braai keeps the guys happy, and the decking on 3 sides of the house ensures you never get tired of the view, if that is ever possible! A definite winner for family holidays and a romantic weekend away, Lake Views really wowed us in all regards. Well done Dean, Susie and atlantis for ticking all the boxes.
