Easy access to Slopes and Village

Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in March 2013

This is our second stay in three years and will always try to get this unit in the future. Great location on second floor just at top of stairs so you can park closely, quick in and out for slope access with a great and responsive Valet service. Also just a very nice 10 min walk to the village for all you shopping and dining needs. Have stayed farther up Merlin's run and it is a chore to climb back up that hill after dinner.

      Comfortable 2BR ski-in/ski-out

Left on 02/17/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Aspens is a great ski-in/ski-out place on Blackcomb (aka Whistler Upper Village). We stayed in rm. 207 for a 5 day guys trip. Just right for 4 guys. Could fit more for a family using the 2 double-bunk beds in one BR, plus a queen and private bath in the other BR. Definitely better than staying at a hotel, and in general quieter than in the Village. You can walk to the night life in the village and still get a good night sleep in your unit. Not glamorous but solid. Had everything we needed including wifi and satellite TV. The window and porch look out onto the courtyard, with the 2 hot tubs visible just off to the right. Easy to get to.

We broke a glass on the kitchen floor and called for a vacuum (the unit only had a broom and there were lots of small glass shards). The manager came in and got one for us (on a Sunday afternoon) in short order.

One thing to note is the management situation is a little non-intuitive. This unit rents from a separate management company than the people that you see at the front desk. So while you talk to the desk people about parking or a fob/key or towel card for the hot tub, the people cleaning the rooms aren't the people who will clean your room (or send you a vacuum cleaner!)

Would we recommend it? Yes. In fact we're going back to the aspens for mid-winter break this year. We would have stayed in 207 again if it were available the whole time we were staying.

      True ski-in/ski-out

Left on 03/28/2010 for a stay in March 2010

We enjoyed our stay - very convenient for skiing. You walk out of complex and can ski right down to lift. The code was given in advance, so no check-in was necessary. It would have been helpful to know which part of the garage to park in and which elevator to take, so would ask before arrival. You have to pay for parking by getting a ticket from the machine in lobby, but you,
also, have to get a card from the front desk to make the automated gate work. The condo was clean. A few minor things needed repair, like the toilet tissue holder in bath, but overall nice. Would recommend and would stay there again. Second bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds which is nice for a family or group. Ski rental company in lobby was very nice. Ski valet works fairly well - certainly always nice. Skis are not allowed in the rooms.

The unit was clean, organized, well run. As a frequent traveler I expect everything to be in order and not have to call or look for anything. Price was right, facilities were right, made the focus on the skiing which is why we were there. I will stay at the Aspens again and would love to rent the same unit.

      Thanks

      unhelpful help line

Left on 02/05/2010 for a stay in January 2010

we went to whistler and needed some help with rental location so we called the after hour contact number. couln't have found anyone more unhelpful. she had no idea where the location i was looking for and asked if i had the right name of the rental location and of course i was reading it off of the email i got from aloha. so she puts me on hold for what seems like half an hour while we are freezing in the middle of cold whistler night.

the room was okay, not worth the charge. not very clean. location was good.

      Great Location

Left on 01/27/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We staye din the 2 bedroom place at Aspens, room 207. Teh home was well apointed and presented. We had everything we needed in the home and the shops etc were just a short work down the hill. We also used the free bus service to access the main Whistler village.

What we liked best was the location for skiing. Problems were with teh cleaning service. We had to follow that up 2 and whenb they came it was 4pm when we wanted the place to ourselves after skiing. Also bring your coffee!

Perfect location - easy ski on/off. We choose this so we can quickly and easily walk to the base area, town, and evening activities.

      Great location, especially with kids

Left on 08/28/2009 for a stay in December 2008

We love the spacious 2-bedroom unit in the Aspens. The unit is conveniently close to the pool and hottubs within the building. It's well equipped, and has 2 bunks and a queen size bed.
We also love the close location to the skischool at Blackcomb Base, and really enjoyed the ability to go sledding right at the Aspens when the ski slopes close at the end of the day. Great restaurants and bars are very closely located (just slide down the hill!) and walking back up is a breeze because the Aspens is the first building up the hill from the bottom of Blackcomb. We can't wait to return! C. Bertels, Kirkland, WA.
