Vancouver, CanadaGreat location
Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in December 2012
This one bedroom condo is in a quiet complex close to all the major amenities that Whistler has to offer. It is right across from the Marketplace area with an abundance of stores and restaurants. The free shuttle to the lifts stops right across the street. You can also walk to the main village square in a little under 5 minutes.
We have stayed in The Lagoons before and this condo will be our 'go to' one bedroom condo for future visits to Whistler. -

StaffordshireJust perfect!
Left on 10/17/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed at the Whistler Retreat for 6 days in October 2010 & it was absolutely perfect for us. The condo was spotless when we arrived and there was a really useful info pack about the property and things to do in Whistler. The kitchen has plenty of cutlery and has every appliance you could need as well as plenty of tea/coffee & spices etc if you decided to cook for yourself (we didn't - we're on holiday after all!)
It's in a great location as it is just over the road from the marketplace so there are grocery shops, coffee shops, restaurants etc (I recommend the Old Spaghetti Factory as good value for money - some of the places in Whistler can be a bit pricey.) It is also only a short walk through the village to get to the ski lifts.
There is plenty to keep you entertained in the condo if you fancy a 'lazy day' - books, cd's, ipod dock, board games, dvd player complete with a selection of films. There is a small patio with a BBQ but it wasn't really 'BBQ weather' when we were there so we didn't get to use it. The bed is really comfy and the washer/dryer was a godsend as it meant that we came home with cases full of clean clothes which made unpacking so much easier! I was especially grateful for the jacuzzi bath after a day on an aTV tour - it certainly helped to ease my aches & pains.
The Whistler Retreat is a great place to stay & I couldn't find fault with it at all - we would definitely stop there again if we could. -

Salt Lake City, UTFantastic place, awesome location.
Left on 10/07/2010 for a stay in August 2010
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay in Whistler. When we got to the rental, we felt like we were in someone's home, very cozy, not just a vacant rental. The location was within 5 min walking distance of the village, grocery store, etc., so we hardly had to drive anywhere. The kitchen was absolutely stocked to the gills, with all the pots/pans/appliances/cooking spices one could ask for. The outdoor patio also had a gas grill and chairs to sit out and relax. We will definitely come back and stay, it was a great vacation basecamp.

Left on 10/01/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The unit has a great location across the street from the village and within easy walk of the lifts. It is very well equipped with everything one would need for an extended stay. Secure garage parking is a plus. The unit is small and with an extended stay one could begin to feel a bit cramped, but for a shorter stay it is excellent. The rates for the unit were very reasonable. If my wife and I come to Whistler by ourselves, we would certain try to rent this unit again.

Houston, TXThe perfect home away from home
Left on 04/10/2010 for a stay in April 2010
We chose this condo based on price, proximity to the lifts, and pictures
posted on line. It was updated, light with lots of windows, and extremely
clean and comfy. There is also a binder about the "retreat" with every
possible question answered from how to use the TV/DVD to how to return
the unit upon completion of your stay. But that is not all. There are a ton of
suggestions in the binder about places to eat, visit, tour, maps of the area,
etc.
The reservation process and contact with the owner was very easy. She gave
us personalized service and multiple ways to reach her. We had no problems
getting to or getting in the unit as there is no a check-in desk.
This unit has all the amenities as if you were in your own home. There is a
fully stocked kitchen with every cooking utensil, pot, pan, even spices, BBQ
grill outside, there were extra sheets, towels, and blankets, a king size bed
with cable TV, a huge closet and lots of drawers in the bedroom, extra
seating in the living room, the entryway has a bench, a place for your
boots/skis/boards, closet and hooks to hang your wet clothes, there is a
washer and dryer, several temperature controls throughout the unit, stocked
soap, shampoo, lotion, a hair dryer and a jetted tub/shower in the
bathroom, a complete entertainment system above the gas fireplace with
iPod dock, DVD player, flat screen TV with cable, multiple cabinets full of
DVD's, books, games, cards, etc. The unit also has free high speed wireless
internet, underground parking, and the complex is extremely quiet. The cell
service is exceptionally good - even up on the mountain!
This unit is across the street from the village. There is a grocery store within
a couple of minutes, countless shops and restaurants, and about a 10
minute walk to the lifts (in ski boots). You can see near the top of Blackcomb
and the Peak to Peak gondola from the living room!
I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone wanting all the comforts
of home. -
Florida flatlanders who love to hike
Vero Beach, FLGreat home away from home
Left on 09/01/2009 for a stay in August 2009
My husband and I were so pleased when we arrived at the condo. The location could not have been more convenient to town, yet wasn't in the midst of the craziness. There was plenty of room to settle in with all of our hiking things. The kitchen was so well stocked, we only needed to buy a few perishables to be quite comfortable eating breakfast at the condo each day. The bed was very comfortable, the fireplace was cozy, the grill and little patio were delightful (we cooked out one night), and there were nice restaurants within walking distance. The local 7/11 carried the NY Times each day - a must for 2 American east coasters. There was even a CD collection to enjoy! Our stay was 10 days, and since the weather is variable in the mountains, we were so glad that we had the condo rather than a cramped hotel room. Our car was very safe in the garage. There was even a friendly cat to greet us on the patio a few days. We loved it and would definitely stay there again. Thanks, Alice!

This apartment was very luxuriously appointed~! very comfortable, and was filled with many more amenities than I even needed. A kitchen with every possible utensil; a fan for the bedroom in the hot night(s); a dining table area and living room area and a patio, and thoughtful touches like band-aids in the bathroom. All this for around $80/night (for one person)--just unbelievable. Although I could easily have made coffee in the morning, I went right across the street and had the best cappucino ever at the cafe there. This is a most lovely place to return to after a day of difficult hiking (or, in the winter, skiing).
I have one suggestion to make: the quilt on the bed is very warm. While it must just be perfect for the winter, it was way too warm for the summer, and I had difficulty adjusting my sleeping arrangement in order to be comfortable. Placing a summer-weight cotton blanket on the bed for the summer months would be perfect.
thank you very much, Alice!!
