Port MoodyClean and comfortable.

The suite was clean and comfortable. The hallways are O.K. however, we found the Bear Lodge main entrance looked kind of shabby, dull and tired looking. Regarding the suite # 207 the refrigerator makes a loud clunking sound after the compressor ends its cycle. Also, the people existing the pub across the street were kind of loud and noisy from 12 -3 am.

Summary - Overall, this is a good value - especially for spring skiing where the hike from the ski base to condo is relatively pleasant as the weather is usually nice during this period. The unit is very comfortable and clean. Pleasant to be there.
Good - (1) Clean and fully functional with kitchen and laundry. Helps with little kids. (2) The bed is comfortable and pretty decent pullout bed in the living room. The furniture is pretty standard resort condo setup. (3) The staff was very nice and did their best to accommodate us. (4) Free parking... Yes, you read correctly. Nice.
Not so good - This is just me being nitpicky, so take it for what it is. (1) Although there is an exercise room and hot tub, they were in another building. One of the machines was broken and the hot tub is in an enclosed room - not exactly enticing. That was part of the draw for us, so a bit disappointed as we never used them. (2) To be expected, you can hear village noise at night because the unit is on 2nd floor as well as facing the square. However, during the spring, not as busy, so the noise isn't too bad. (3) A bit far from the gondolas if you are in ski boots. Not easy when you are also carrying your kids' gear as well as you're own. Be prepared to ski with a backpack or use a locker, so that you can were regular shoes and carry your ski boots back and forth. (4) It looks like the unit was recently partially renovated (maybe during the Olympics?). I think if they are going to do any renovations, they should just go for it and do it completely (even if you can only do a few units at a time). They had a nice granite countertop on top of the old cabinet frame which was cracked. Bathroom was completely functional, but dated. The building key card reader was finicky. You had to swipe several times to open it. Lastly, the elevator needs upgrading (it works, but a little banged up). -

This is a very well layed out place, and very roomy for a one bedroom suite. It is great as it faces all the action in the village stroll. You can watch the activities they host in the plaza right from your windows or balcony.
