Sechelt, B.C.It was all you could hope for a short ski vacation!
Left on 03/26/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Our booking went extremely well from the moment we went on line to book. Everything was well taken care of. The booking, the payment, the condo...exceptionally clean and well furnished. The directions of how to get to the condo and the last minute e mails ensuring that we had the proper lock box # and the combination number so that we could enter when we arrived without having to call anyone...but just in case that we did forget the instructions, all was covered in a last minute e mail telling us to ensure that we keep these numbers on us at all time. The first night upon our arrival we even received a phone call from Kerry asking us if everything was alright and if we needed anything...we have never had this kind of treatment with our other bookings. The whole experience was wonderful and very pleasant and we certainly would not hesitate to rent this condo again. Extremely satisfied ...Alan & Lois Pickard

St Paul, MNFelt like home- quiet and comfortable.
Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in February 2013
It was a very comfortable stay and the owner Kerry Wallace make things go smoothly with her organization and quick response to our questions. She even called in the day after we arrived to make sure everything was okay. We really enjoyed our stay.
Pros:
*Very close to upper village, yes it is a ski-in/out. There is a ski-rental shop in the building (Summit-they will tune your skis, ect). However, there is also an actual WhistlerBlackcomb rental/ski school and guest relations right at the bottom of the "hill" which is a short walk down the ski hill.
*There are 2 restaurants within that short walk as well and several shops.
*The condo is well equipped with towels, hand soap,(bring your own shampoo) dish-washing detergent, dishes, wine glasses, cookware, utensils and a few condiments (sugar, salt, pepper, sugar substitute, non dairy creamer, napkins and a few other misc items).
*The unit faces down hill toward the Fairmont (can't quite see ski hill) but it is separated by evergreens so it's very quiet (despite the occasional loud person in the hallway-no way to control that).
*Three hot tubs open morning til 10pm, towels provided.
*Free local calls
*There is a small grocery store in the upper village (eggs, meats, bread. condiments, snacks, some fruits and veggies) as well as a small liqueur store,
*Lost of space for 2 adults. It was nice having the separate bedroom so we could have our own space if needed.
*The bed is comfortable enough for a rental. Nice bedding but we did miss our memory foam topper at home (personal preference-everyone is different right?)
cons:
* It is a bit of a walk to the lower village and unfortunately if you go the "short way" it involves hiking down the ski hill. It takes more than 5 minutes but less than 10 at a quick pace, but you have to walk down the ski hill (bring snow boots if you want to do this walk). We did it every day with ease but we are hikers and in decent shape. Fyi~you will have to walk on the side of the ski hill while skiers and snowboarders whiz by. It is kind of a pain to go back up with groceries but do-able. You can walk the long way down the street but it's a lot further... we didn't bother with this.
*The lifts open at 8:30am. If you plan on doing "fresh tracks" which is early access to the Mountain (lift access from 7:15-8:00am) and breakfast up at the Roundhouse you either have to walk with all your gear to the gondola in the lower village or wait til the shuttle service starts at 7am. However, people start lining up for the gondola around 6am so you will be last in line if you wait for the shuttle.
* The shuttle only runs every 10 minutes 7am til around 11am. 11am til late night it's every 15-20 minutes so plan well if you need to be to the village in a timely manner. We ended up walking it most of the time. Taking the shuttle into the village is a quick ride because the aspens is one of the last stops on the way in. However taking the shuttle back to the aspens is quite longer as you will get to see many of the condos up the hill before swinging back around to the aspens.
*The larger grocery (IGa) store is quite a hike even if you take the shuttle. The shuttle drops you off near the gondola and the IGa is on the other end of the village. There is probably another shuttle you can take but we didn't bother because we got what we needed from the small upper village market. I believe you can have groceries delivered which might be a good option for those wanting more.
For us the pros outweighed the cons and we had a blast. We would have brought our bigger snow boots with better snow-tread had we known we would be making the hike up and down the ski hill so many times. My husband just had some slip on Merrill's and I had some hiking Keens.,.. it snowed a lot so the bottoms of our pants were constantly wet from the hike. Bring your high boots. -

Pros:
true ski in, ski out
great kitchen with modern appliances
huge tv
roomy one bedroom
very comfy king bed
Perfect for 2-4 people looking to cook-in, occasionally go out and be right on the mtn.
Cons:
Of you want to party in Whistler village, you have to take the shuttle.

You can walk into the Village. It is about a 10 minute walk down the slope and then on the Valley Trail via the Upper Village into the main Village.

We stayed at this condo the week after Christmas. It is a true ski-in ski-out location; the ski valet is a nice touch. We walked to Whistler Village every night with no problem. The hot tubs looked fun, but we did not use them. It was a little small for us--2 adults plus our young adult children. Will try for the same location with 2 BR next time. The property management was excellent--booked thru alluraDirect--very professional.

We have been coming to Whistler for 25 years and this was by far the quietest unit we have ever stayed in. We usually stay over-looking the pool and didn't realize how noisy it has been til we stayed here. The bed was amazing and the air conditioning so appreciated. Great Unit. Will defiately stay here again.

We enjoyed our last minute stay at the aspens #217 for the BC Long Weekend. The service received from Kerry was very informative and speedy since our stay was 2 days following the booking.
The home was very comfortable and homey. It's perfect for couples, and perhaps a small family. We enjoyed the balcony and the privacy due to the trees. While the patio had chairs outside, it was missing a small table. We ended up bring out one of the dining chairs to put our coffee mugs on. :)
We look forward to returning soon! -

We loved our 8 night stay at the aspens. The location is terrific and our suite was very comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. It was quiet, the pool was fantastic and we felt very at home during our stay. Kerry was wonderful too - she made sure that we were well looked after and answered any questions that we had upon our arrival. We would definitely come back and are thinking about booking again soon.

VancouverTop Ten at Whistler
Left on 03/29/2012 for a stay in March 2012
As a long-term, multiple-stay visitor to Whistler since 1997, I've stayed in many and various accommodations throughout the village and Whistler environs, and have a good idea of what constitutes good value. The deal is pretty simple: if you want accommodation that ensures your stay is fun and memorable and relaxing and optimizes your time on the slopes, you want two things: a ski-in, ski-out location, walking distance to the village. The aspens is one of a few locations that truly offer this opportunity. You can;t beat the location - slide down the hill a few metres to Blackcomb base to catch the lift in the morning, and stroll a little further across Fitzsimmons Creek to the village and shop, "apre" and enjoy. End of the day - ride/ski right back to the pool area, third your gear on the condo floor and slide into one of the hot tubs. We do visits to Whistler in Winter, Spring and Summer and with a smallish group the aspens always proves to be a good choice.

We just love the aspens especially number 217. It is tastefully decorated, super comfy King size bed, flat screen Tv's in the master and the lounge. The unit faces the beautiful trees covered in white powder creating that feel that there was no one else around. The unit is extremely well stocked even down to the tasbasco sauce!
Would highly recommend anyone stay here. -

Excellent service re. booking and Kerry called to check all was ok.
The apartment was great, tasteful decor, all the mod cons and lovely to come back to after a day on the slopes.
It was great to be slightly removed from the village and yet only an easy 5 minute walk away.
The best thing for us was the superb true ski in/out poition of The aspens.

Kerry the manager was quick to address the minor problems we had and we found it easy to be there for skiing. Great location for ski in ski out.
A nice to have would be a small welcome pack of basics like eggs, milk pancake mix for the first day or two for international arrivals like us, but not a biggie. Apartment was as described.

Very nice play, especially for the price. Pretty comfortable overall, very spacious... nice amenities. The couch was a little old and broken in. For whatever reason we just didn't sleep that great it the bed...it felt comfortable but maybe we just used to a bit stiffer mattress. I would however easily stay here again and would definitely recommend this place.
