Alpine Greens is located on the 1st tee of the Chateau Whistler Golf Course. This two level, three bedroom, two bathroom property offers scenic views and is only 400 metres from the Blackcomb lifts. The main level bedroom has a Queen sized bed and a second bedroom has two Twin sized beds. In the living area is a discreet Queen sized Murphy bed disguised as an armoire. Upstairs is an enclosed King sized loft with TV, private balcony and an ensuite featuring a large Jacuzzi tub. I am afraid that our stay in Whistler was not helped by your property, in the end we were glad to leave.
The property was in a good location and fully equipped but the following needs to be noted:
We experienced the following difficulties on arrival:
The toilets would not flush, I had to remove the lids from the cisterns to see why, the problem was that the flush mechanisms in both toilets was effectively sealed closed, I suspect due to the fact that the property had not been occupied for many weeks. I had to manually flush the toilets to release the mechanism, after that they worked fine.
As you know the TV cable system was inoperative. This was fixed on Monday but I had to put up with 2 days of moaning from my 4 sons who missed the Tennis Final.
Both of these issues could have been pre-empted by a simple check on the day before occupation by us, all the glasses and towels were in perfect order but a little more needs to be done before arrival after a long vacant period.
We were not given a key for the garage to dispose of garbage, I had to chase up your office after spending time trying to locate the non existent key.
BBQ utensils were missing, when I told you of this you made it clear that I would have to make do without them, this was not acceptable
The most distressing issue was the fact that all of us except for my youngest son were bitten repeatedly at night whilst in bed. My youngest son slept on the sofa in the lounge every night and did not recieve a single bite. I received at least 15 bites on the first night, my 18yo son received about 30 on his back on the first night, other party members were also bitten. Nobody had any bites prior to going to bed. We did not have the windows or doors open. These bites were not from the local mosquitoes. Could I suggest that you have the beds treated by some pest control people. We enjoyed our stay very much. It accommodated our family very comfortably. We especially liked the in- floor heating in the kitchen! It was a short walk to the lifts, and an easy ski to the Lost Lake cross country trails. Thanks for a great holiday.
