St Hilda`s studio apartment is a recently refurbished to a very high standard ground floor holiday apartment, the apartment has been fitted with a new bathroom suite, complete with power shower new kitchen, & contemporary style living accomodation, with full central heating, Ideally situated for all town centre shops & tourist amenities, the apartment is within an easy walk of the west cliff, spa, leasure centre, and cliff top attractions, outside there is a lovely private patio area, complete with table & chairs, free parking is always available outside the front door, the cottage sleeps 2 ( adults only ) sorry no pets.

I first stayed at this fabulous apartment 3 years ago when I went to Whitby on my own and was a little dubious and nervous having never been away on my own, needn't have worried, Ray the owner picked me up from the bus stop and took me to the most welcoming place i've ever stayed in, he had brought some milk for my cuppa so I didn't have to go straight out to get any and the two days I stayed there I knew I was (and felt) totally safe, he said if I needed anything or got lost, just to give him a call. What a lovely man. The apartment is brilliant, so clean and homely, the bed is so comfy and the patio area outside is lovely with hanging baskets and table and chairs and totally private and feels just like home. Returned two years ago and last year with my partner and got the same friendly welcome and this time with milk and cake yum yum and a couple of little bed men made out of towels sitting on the bed how lovely...I would recommend this place to anyone, it's the best place in Whitby and very central with the shops just around the corner and the beach if you go the other way is just a 3 minute walk. Hope to be going back this year again...

So glad we found this little apartment. It is perfect for just the 2 people, its cosy yet has everything you need! Ray is also very welcoming, the little extra touches like the towel men, the fresh milk and cake really do make a lovely difference! Slept very well each night, it's a quiet location and close enough to everything in the centre of Whitby. The price is also a great bonus since we're a young couple on a budget :) Will definitely stay here when we return to Whitby again!

we stayed at st hildas on the 26th april for 3 nights this is the best place we have stayed in would recommend it to any one . spotlessly clean , everything you could need is there . the owner ray is a lovley man and made us feel very welcome . and showed us how to use everything and advised us were to go . its a great location close to Whitby town . it has its own parking so we did not have to move the car all weekend will be booking to stay again .

As previous reviews have said this place is lovely , I cant think of one negative thing to say about it .Ray is a top man and makes you feel really welcome . We also had the bonus of the sun making an appearance so we made the most of the little patio area . All in all a great spot to spend a weekend , we will be returning .

The owner met us with a jug of milk so we could have a cup of tea on arrival. There was cake too...homemade.
It was great that everything you needed was available and so clean. We must go in the summer so we can have a drink in the yard too.
All the little extras provided make it feel very friendly and not in the slightest bit corporate.
Ray is a lovely person.

We went away to Whitby for a couple of days to celeberate our wedding anniversary.
The apartment is quirky and has all you need and is also in a fantastic location. Extremely clean and tidy and attention to detail. Ray the owner makes you feel so welcome, he is wonderful.
We could not fault anything.
The apartment is certainly worth what we paid and more.

Absolutely charming apartment !!
Ray was friendly, helpful and very welcoming, with home made cake and his very thoughtful approach. The apartment was cherished by Ray and you could feel that he had put his heart into the apartment.
It was extremely clean and had everything you could need including a hair-dryer, iron and even tupperware for our picnic out !!! as well as a stand of leaflets for local attractions.
Just a short walk to the sea and Whitby centre it was the ideal accommodation.
Thankyou for such a lovely break and we have already praised Ray and his apartment to friends and family !!!

Relaxing few days in Whitby and St Hildas .

We have recently returned from our first visit to Whitby staying at St Hildas which I booked after reading previous reviews .
We were met by Ray who showed us to the apartment and given a warm welcome with fresh milk , tea/coffee , delicious home made cake and biscuits . We were told how everything worked and were assured that if there was any problem we could contact Ray at any time .
The apartment was very clean and comfortable providing all the comforts of home . It is situated in an ideal spot on the West Cliff area having its own parking space . Within minutes you can be by the sea and all the amenities of Whitby and a short walk over the bridge to the East cliff with the 199 steps to the abbey and church .
We will be recommending St Hildas to friends and family and look forward to returning in the future .

I was looking for budget accommodation and came across this tiny property. Perfect for one or a couple, it is within easy reach of the town centre, and very close to West Cliff. Plus there is parking, which is at a premium in the town. The property is clean, warm and cosy. It is very small but really does provide everything you'd need for a short stay. Ray the owner was friendly and obliging, providing complimentary milk, biscuits and some lovely cake.

Had great stay at St Hildas. after a freezing day at Whitby it was so nice to get back to the cosy comfort of St Hildas.The complimentary cake and biscuits was a nice touch. It was cosy, clean and compact. Very central, car parking available. Would definitely stay again.

We cannot recommend this apartment enough, for us it was the perfect price, location and place...it is extremely private, yet is in the heart of whitby, with beautiful sea views from the end of the street, and within minutes you are in the centre of town. The lovely warm fire kept us warm despite it being january on the coast and Ray (owner) provided a warm welcome. We hope to return time and time again and despite having only returned yesterday have already recommended to numerous friends! Beautiful apartment in a beautiful town...makes for the perfect getaway!

Absolutely would recommend this little beauty of a find in the heart of Whitby to anyone! Has everything you could ever want in a compact package at an amazing price! The only downside was the mattress which didn't give much in the way of support and if this was upgraded St Hildas would be perfect in everyway! This is the only thing stopping me giving 5 stars but I would stop again.

Bit suprised you had a problem with the mattress no complaints from anyone else, in fact i`ve rung around recent guests and everyone thought it was fine! however will check it out & if it needs replacing will do so.

What a find !! We have been coming to Whitby for our winter break for many years and have always stayed in hotels. I did a bit of browsing and came across this apartment, so glad i did. The welcome, the facilities, the location, the peace and quiet were fantastic. The owner Ray is a lovely guy and made us feel really welcome.There is everything you need for a really relaxed enjoyable stay. The apartment is modern, clean and compact and even has its own little outside garden area and parking space. This was the first time we stayed here but it definitely won't be the last. We've found our own little home from home in Whitby. Thanks Ray for a fantastic weekend.

better than some 5star apartments the apartment is lovely and cosy and well equiped with kitchen bathroom and bedroom with sitting area and table and chairs, large tv and music centre.
the owner ray who is a lovely man met us and showed us round and the personal touches where lovely tea and coffee homemade cake and biscuits and 2 towel men on the bed we couldnt believe it it was lovely andwe where made to feel so welcome the apartment was spotless we cant recomend this apartment enough and its central to town if you are going to whitby book this apartment you wont be dissapointed and the apartment has parking another bonus -

My wife and I wanted a couple of days in Whitby on our trip from New Zealand. The owner met us, he was very friendly and showed us around the apartment and showed us how everything worked.
The place was perfect for us, compact yes but very cheap, clean, with all the mod cons etc.
No complaints, for those on a budget we don't think you can better this. -

Everything about this was brilliant. The location is perfect. The accomodation is cosy and the owner is wonderful, it was the little things that made it so lovely from the biscuits to the towel men.
The garden area was perfect for a bbq and an ideal walk into Whitby!
We go to Whitby each year and this will be our first choice on the next trip.
