Excellent and highly recommended accommodation close to the centre of Whitby. Listed building tastefuly refurbished and decorated. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very welcoming on arrival. The fresh milk and complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge is a nice touch, as were the 'red nose day' biscuits.
On the ground floor is a small kitchen/diner, equiped with everything you need for a short stay. The bathroom is modern and luxurious and the bedroom situated on the top floor has excellent views over the harbour.
The whole place has a homely feel about it and is more like staying in someone's home than in a tourist accommodation.
We stayed during a cold spell in March, but the cottage was always warm and is good for any time of the year. Parking close by was OK early season, but would be more problematical during the summer. -

What a fantastic find! Perched over the marina with amazing views this is a beautifully restored and thoughtfully presented holiday let, perfect for a quiet getaway and with literally everything we could possibly have needed. I defy you to find a better bathroom! Thank you so much. We could not have asked for anything more and will definitely be back!

Laverick Steps is fantastically appointed spotlessly clean pet and smoke free, usefully located, home from home. The views from the bedroom are worth the rental fee alone. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, the bedroom is tastefully finished and the bathroom facilities are first class. You will struggle to find better value for money than this - anyone considering a stay in this whitby should look no further!

What a wonderful break. Laverick Steps is an idyllic cottage in a great location. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door (thank you for the wine and milk on our arrival)they were much appreciated. I just loved everything about the cottage beautifully decorated and so homely - I loved the bedroom and the view over the harbour -so peaceful. Whitby is such a quaint town with a wide variety of restaurants and a pub on every corner! We also had the added bonus of 3 lovely sunny days to explore the areas around Whitby - Robin Hood Bay was a particularly enjoyable day out. We shall certainly be returning and we have already been recommending it to our friends. Thank you Erica for a most memorable holiday.

the cottage is tucked away up some steps and on opening the door you are amazed to find this 3 storey property with a lovely view over the harbour , perfect for a few days stay in whitby , and the cottage had everything , character , cozy , modern ( a bathroom that has the "wow" factor). The goodies in the cupboard on arrival were a lovely touch , nothing negative to say about laverick Steps at all, even when we had snow and it was freezing...it was a cosy base to come back too!! A great find to come back to time and time again ! whitby is lovely little fishing village with lots to see and do.

Laverick steps was a cosy house in a perfect location overlooking whitby. It was clean and modern and had loads of extra little luxuries that you don't normally expect. Weather was very cold during our stay but the cottage was super cosy and warm. Loved the enormous bathroom! Would definitely stay again.

Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Booked Laverick Steps for a long weekend break in Whitby. Couldn't have wished for a better place. Granted it is small and limited access (especially up the narrow stairs) but we were advised about this. Having said that it's very nicely maintained and furnished with a great bathroom and bedroom.
It was great to sit on the high chairs and watch the sunset through the window in the evening. Erica and Raj very kindly left a bottle of wine for our arrival (really nice touch) and we had a great time.
Some great places to eat close by too.
Will definitely consider here if we come back (actually we had such a good time in the area we will come back I'm sure).
Many thanks

Stayed here for 3 nights october 2011. Was very pleased with our choice, charming cottage, lovely bathroom , comfotable bed, views over the harbour from the bedroom window. The location is perfect on the road leading into the old town only a 2 minute walk, but away from the hustle and bustle . Highly recommended and very helpful owners.

Calder Valley, West YorkshireIt was a perfect base from which to enjoy our holiday
Left on 10/23/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Laverick Steps combines a really tasteful refurbishment with a quaintness and charm that is very "Whitby". We enjoyed the view over the harbour from the bedroom window and we appreciated the lovely big bathroom. The only drawbacks were the steep, cramped staircases (I managed not to crack my head until the very last morning as we were getting ready to depart!) and the lack of any comfortable furniture apart from the bed. The "armchair" in the bedroom is not in fact an armchair just a small upholstered seat. However, we had no regrets about booking Laverick Steps, we would consider booking it again and would almost certainly recommend it to friends.

Thank you Hilary for this review. We do agree with you about the seating and are looking out for something comfy that will go with the decor. Can't do anything about the stairs though! Best wishes Erica
