McLeanGreat place for beach vacation with kids

We stayed there a week in late august. Well, this is probably the best family beach vacation we ever had besides all inclusive resorts, and this is despite the storm that robbed us of a couple of beach days. It's a bit pricey, but it is well worth the price.
House is spacious and well equipped. We are two adults and three kids, and we celebrated our daughter's birthday there and had a few visitors, for a total of four adults and five kids. No problem accommodating everybody, but this is probably as many as it can take.
House literally sits on the beach. Nothing separates you from the bay. During the week, there is nobody around, the nearest neighbors are half a dozen houses away. People come for the weekend, but they are not noisy or disruptive. No crazy jets or speedboats, and no jet fighters either. Very peaceful and calm.
Water is great and always warm and for a couple of hundred feet it is no more than grown-up waist deep. You can sit on the porch seeping a cocktail and watching your kids swimming, kayaking, and what not. If you want to swim yourself though, you have to walk these couple hundred feet.
Nearest life is about 15 minutes away by car. You have Food Lion, Walmart, ABC and a bunch of local specialty stores available. It's a bit hard to find a local seafood, but still possible if you ask around. Btw house has a gas grill on the porch, which makes cooking seafood much easier.
Owners are very nice and helpful, and easy to deal with. We forgot our set of knives there, and they mailed them back to us at their own expense.
The only darkish spot is the laundry. Checkout time is noon, and you are required to wash, dry, and fold all the bedding and towels before you leave. Unfortunately, the washer and especially the dryer are dramatically undersized for this job, and there is no way you can finish with the laundry by noon - unless you get very creative with your planning and wash and dry all what you can the day before, and get lucky with weather so you can dry your laundry outside. There is the other way around it - the folks down the beach will offer you to take care of your laundry for $35.
Overall, we are very satisfied, we will certainly recommend this to a friend, and yes, we are considering this house for our next beach vacation. Thank you Mikey and Susan :) -

The house is well laid out and has great views from the living room. The sandy beach is spacious. The kitchen is well equipped and modern and is open to the living room. Comfortable chairs are on the deck and the wide bay view is mesmerizing. Another plus is that pets are permitted. The mattresses are firm; if that is not to your liking, bring a pad. We suggest that you bring your own linens and towels to avoid having to wash, fold and put away those supplied.

We had a lovely time. The house was beautiful, spacious ,and the floor plan was conducive for relaxation. We had a view a the bay that was terrific, both on sunny and stormy days.

Awesome view, very private.We love the beach and the water is perfect for young children learning to swim.the house has almost anything you need. The Moores are awesome to deal with...we just keep coming back here.we love it.

Stayed in august 2011. Very clean house with everything you need, far away from the action. Nice sandy beach at your doorstep where you can watch bald eagles fish in the bay. Fresh seafood a short drive away, which was cooked in a stocked kitchen.
Everything was as expected, but for Hurricane Irene, which unfortunately cut my vacation short by a few days. Mickey stopped by to help button up the place and couldn't have been nicer.
